Another awesome tutorial! Congrats! Your tuts are helpful, informative, concise and very clear, and I share them frequently more and more! Thank you and keep them coming!
This is great, good for a quick & dirty retargeting of an accurig character. Would love an advanced version of this where Unreal's weird skeleton doesn't give everyone Manny shoulders.
Add the shoulder joint closer to the clavicle, a bit inwards, and slightly up. And drop down the clavicles a bit. That helped me. You will need to play with that until they don't pop.

Great tutorial you are very clear, calm, and methodic, you explain patiently and with a smooth tone it's very much appreciated, Thanks a lot for giving some of your knowledge 😉👍
thanks for this, i have been struggling to find help online for ages on this topic, although my characters shoulders are abit square, i am happy that it is working as intended! i shall tweak my model in accurig and reimport! it shouldnt affect anything if i make sure everything is named the same so it just straight up replaces the old model?
Love your videos man, seriously quality stuff! I have been trying to use the Ultra Dynamic Sky/ Weather add on with the Matrix City project and creat a snowy city, any chance you could do a video on it??? 😉 If not no worries lol. Do you have a Patreon or something we can donate to and help support your awesome videos?
It is really difficult, you have to add material functions to lots of Materials. I never got it to work fully but close. As for support... You can click the "thanks" button under the videos or buymeacoffee [.com]. I will add channel memberships if enough people ask for them.
Nice info here. Do you have an optimal way to setup cc3+ characters in UE 5 & 5.1? My cc3+ characters seem to be rotating upward slightly.. The rig is the one generated from CC3 when Exporting Fbx for Unreal.. Any help is much appreciated!
Hey, I am trying to make a Character Creator where I can chose the clothes for my character by clicking the left/right arrows I created in WidgetBP. First problem, my character doesn't have skeletal mesh components like metahuman (head, body, feet etc.) which then combined form the entire body. Second problem, my character (the pawn player) has already a skin (naked human skin), and now I want to add clothes to this naked character. But I want my clothing to go on top of the naked body, and NOT substitute a part of the skeleton (as in other Character Creator tutorials out there). So for example, how can I add a pair of jeans on top of the naked body without replacing the "legs"? Can you make a tutorial for this situation? I would praise you for this!
@@Jobutsu I wish there was an option to draw a skeleton for the clothing, and then assign/merge the same bones to the ones of the character. So that when the character moves, the clothing moves the same way.
Have to use the Transfer tool to bring a Daz character into CC4 to setup for UE5.1 at all yet?,. The last ime I did this was CC3, I lost alot of the morph/muscle detail. I did see a video (think it was Kellytoons) where he exported a default iAvatar and then inported an OBJ he exported from Daz into CC3 then exported as an iAvatar and use thos to create a CC morph, not sure if that still works for CC4 tho
Thankyou for reminding me about this. I too want to solve the morph issue, so I will add it to my priority list. I have been able to create morphs in CC4 from DAZ characters, I think using a similar process to the one you just outlined.
@@Jobutsu Choice,.. I'll have another shot at it, I have Ravna a Norse character I want to get over to UE5. I'm still a big fan of my Quang Phan Humanbase females animations to and want to use those

It is weird and I thought I was rigging wrong in AccuRIG.
I will examine the problem at some point.

@@dimuzmc9 You're saying to do this during the rigging stage right?

I sometimes find my problems with cc3+ characters disappear if I export from cc4 again.
👍
Does this still apply to 5.4, retarget is different but adding the CC4 char mesh to the UE5 mesh and then using retarget pose in the anim graph?
I have not tried this in 5.4

The problem you will have is that the body will "poke through" the clothes.
That is why it is better to remove the mesh under the clothes.

is it possible to retarget animations that are made for the UE skeleton to an accurig character? is that what is actually being done in this video?
Yes & Yes
@@Jobutsu awesome! Thank you!
once this is done, how easy isit to then replace the animations like idle and walk, with custom ones downloaded from mixamo etc?
Does this apply to Character Creator 3 using AccuRIG as well?
I think only cc4 ?
Tried this and lot more tutorials, it never works with lyra animations or anims holding weapons, it's always the hands that are messed up
I don't have much experience with Lyra animations, so can not help.
Do I need the plug-in if I only use Accurig?
No but it really does help with the materials.
The plugin is free too.
And there are no facial wrinkles, like in metahumans?
I do not understand the question ?
@@Jobutsu When a metahuman squints or wrinkles his forehead, does he get wrinkles, using special normal maps, but CC4 does not have this?
