My Sym Fiddle iii, Took 170c.c. of fluid. Pretty much up to the fill plug. I did the 2nd service myself. There was not anywheres near that much when I drained it.

I have a sym xpro 50cc air filter to clean it and the plasma in which sits the plasma that is attached to the scooter and joins the rubber hose coming out of the carburetor came out gasoline viscous both in the hose and in this plasma not much, the filter is clean.
Recently changed the gear box oil on my scooter but it seems like I’m getting leaks from the vent hole just under the case after every time i drive? Is that normal?
On my friends big boy i tried filling oil with syringe oil just ran out so i pushed a small pipe inside felt an obsruction pushed further and it was cleared then i mamaged to fill it ...what was blocking it to me it felt like a piece of rubber 🙏 southafrica
On lots of scoots the fill hole is on the side of the casing facing you half way up the gearbox with the drain underneath, it's facing down on my Sym. If you know how much to put in use that amount if not filling the upper fill hole 20cc at a time until it starts to run out will usually be fine. This does not apply to fill holes with dipsticks which should be measured with the screw/dipstick resting on the filler hole and not screwed in.

Strangely enough I tried draining the gear oil out the drain plug but nothing came out. Even after putting gear oil in the fill port nothing came out the drain port. Looks like I'm pulling the cover.
NOOOOOOOOO.....most scooters have the gearbox oil quantity printed on the gearbox housing, my sym fiddle 3 says 170ml so thats what it gets, different scooters require different quantities, on a Honda I had it said to fill top hole until it came out again and that will be good for most scooters if the exact amount is unknown, also always use proper gear oil not engine oil as they are made to do different things,the gearbox on a scoot is separate from the engine unlike on a motorcycle. Motorcycle oil has to run around the gearbox and the wet clutch as it works so isn't as slippery as car oil as it contains less or no friction modifiers, on my scooters I always use good semi synthetic 10w40 car oil as it's cheaper and better than overpriced motorcycle or scooter oil.
Castrol 80/90 axle/gear oil about every 5000 miles. A 1 litre bottle of gearbox oil will probably outlast a scooter even with 1000 mile engine oil changes.
Agreed there! It's simple to do if you know the right amount of oil to fill. When it comes to changing the gear oil I just let it overflow, never had a problem from that method.

Fill up the gear oil until it starts leaking out the fill point, I use 80w-90 gear oil and use a bike tyre pump with an inflatable bed nozzle

The filler hole is also the level hole. Gear oil wears and breaks down even if it looks clean. Change every 2 years.

Great video is there a way to check the oil level of the gear oil. don’t see a dipstick like the engine oil.

No it is not. Too much oil is as bad as not enough oil.

i thought engine oil and gearbox oil was same thing on scooters ? ... never knew it was separate
they do but this is like a differential on a car separate from the the transmission and engine
