- Another run with the fantastic Tamiya rally car chassis. The XV-01. This time sporting a Toyota Celica Twin Cam body.
This Celica is a replica of the 1980's Toyota rally entry which was RWD and had success in the Kenya Safari Rally

What a time machine! My cousin in Miami had one of these back in the day.. had no idea of the rally history until recently. Love the classic boxy bodies
yes it did well in the safari rally . Being a rwd as well . Interesting car I think . thanks for watching 😊👍
It's the Summer of Rally!!!!!
thanks Paul , about the only time i get to run them 👍
Wow Dom that car looks amazing! Excellent driving out there, the car looked so real in some shots I thought I was watching a real rally! Great edit as ever my friend! 😎👊👍
thanks for watching Mark 😊👍Thenks for the kind comment 😊👍
Terrific run with XV-01 Dom!! It looked terrific out there and handled everything perfectly. I loved all the great action shots. Great job my friend!
Thankyou Addam for watching and much appreciated 😊👍
Nice rally stage with the Toyota Dom!😀👍

Beautiful shots with a beautiful car Dom! Just like watching rally on tv!
👍😊
cheers Jeremy 😊👍
Yeah, Dom, gotta thrash some of that good British dirt!
yes mate 😊👍thanks Mads
Sweet !here is nothing like the feeling of RC rallying around dirt corners! ( Well maybe some scale jumps :) Cheers
thanks buddy. its great fun when you get it right 😊👍
Again a very cool running video Dom
thanks mate 😊👍
Very nice mate. Not seen that body shell before but looks lovely on your XV-01. Looks like you had a blast sending round those corners. Top work on the video as ever 😁👍👍
cheers Pete. Tamiya did. do this body on the 959 chassis in the 80’s i think . but this is a 3rd party effort 😊👍
Awesome looking classic car and cool video mate , 😎💯👍👍
thanks mate 😊👍
What a car, great rally shots in this video Dom 👊🏼
thanks mate 😊👍
I know that the Tamiya Porsche 959 is many people's favourite rally car but I liked the square shaped Toyota Celica Group B version better. So for me, you made a great choice choosing this body style on a modern rally chassis.
yes i do like the Toyota entries a lot over the years . Thanks for watching and glad you like it 😊👍
Beautiful footage as always Dom 🙌🏻
thanks Craig 😊👍
Good looking body 🙂
thanks mate 😊👍
Fantastic run 👍 (Not sold on the rims though 🥴) 🤝
thanks buddy. yeah they aren’t quite right 🤔
Got the same wheels for my old Kyosho pure ten alpha 3, they are a bit larger than the stock one
they are but are really good value and have a great soft compound to aid grip . thanks mate 😊👍
Oh man, now we're talking!!
Love it, love it, love it! 👌
I'm a big fan of the Celica GRB, those square lines and boxy body are sooo eighties!
It's so cool to see the mighty XVO1 with something other than the Lancia Delta body on.
What company manufacturers this one mate, guessing it's 1/10 scale?
Great work on the paint job, White and red is the only option for this car, it's a must!
As always full of admiration regarding the footage and editing, an absolute joy to watch fella!
Makes me want to take my Celica GRB for a spin...... sadly the aged plastics are as brittle as thin glass now, so it has to stay firmly on the shelf.
Great run matey! 👍 👍 👍
thanks guys. 😊👍 its an L & l body and it’s 1/10👍 I agree its a interesting car . i couldn’t actually do the proper paint scheme so i settled for this . glad you liked it mate 😊👍

Ah cool man, yes, it certainly captured that Celica GRB vibe with the red and white!
There's actually some lovely reproduction MCI Celica GRB decals on ebay currently for £15, but unfortunately they are 1/12 so too small!!!
Are the L&L bodies a good reproduction Dom? 🤔
I bought their reproduction decals for my BMW 318 STW restoration this week......
I can't seem to find a new genuine Tamiya body for it anywhere, but I think L&L do a reproduction one.
It may be worth me looking into it, if it is very close to the original Tamiya one!
I get quite anal over my restorations of my vintage stuff..... things need to look just right! 😂
👍 👍 👍
the bodies are usually good to really good but the decals im not so keen on . 👍
