  • Prof. Christopher Gardner, Academic Director in the Nutrition Science online short course from the Stanford Center for Health Education (SCHE), clears up some misconceptions about protein and its sources.
When most people think about protein sources, animal products, like poultry, fish, and dairy usually come to mind first. However, the truth is that all foods contain protein, but the proportions of amino acids which make up that protein are different. That’s why, in order to get the amount of protein you need, a diet with lots of variety is recommended. During this course, you’ll learn to interpret nutritional evidence, make nutritional assessments, and conduct dietary analyses, in addition to gaining a solid foundation in nutrition science.
