- I had really high expectations for this SH Figuarts Chainsaw Man Denji Action Figure, but I have to say that I was pretty lit down with how disappointing it turned out to be. Don’t get me wrong, there definitely were some things to enjoy about it, but I feel like this figure could’ve been so much better. Every single one of the chainsaw man figures have been outstanding, and somehow this one fails to meet expectations. How Tamashii dropped the ball here, I don’t know but I truly hope that they pick it back up before they release any future figures. I was so sure that they were going to be able to execute this one flawlessly, but apparently I turned out to be wrong. I don’t know what’s going on in terms of these action figure lines, in terms of why some figures are so good, but others are terrible. Not saying this figure is terrible by any means, but again it could’ve been so much better.  overall I hope you guys enjoyed this review and if so don’t forget to give it a thumbs up because that always helps me out. I think this should of been just one figure. There was no reason to make 2 figures for this guy. Change the head & arms for the transformation, bump the price to $85, maybe 95, and done.

Why do the promo images make this figure look like Denji but actually seeing him I don’t think he looks like denji at. My honest reaction when when I saw he out of the box for the first time was he was a bootleg with the weird shoulders and weird face
agreed entirely, same with ichigo. the way theyre messing up the protags first releases, the focal and highest buying point of the lines. granted the protags are usually the cheapest entry in the line so id rather your bang for your buck be not as ripped off.

This is definitely a case where the product images were the only reason why the figure looked so good, but actually in hand is a whole different story. Can't say too much on other Figuarts releases but i can say with what they did to 2099's unmasked face in the promos and in person, was literally day and night. I'm super glad they fixed it for 2099 and that figure is great imo but i feel like the Denji is definitely far more of a disappointment. Great review as always though!

It literally doesnt hurt anyone besides people with clearly nothing else to worry about so they get irritated by it. I was never annoyed by it. Its just simply a lot fans really want a figure of him. I know theres those toxic people as always but anytime i see someone just simply say they want toji, they get attacked and its so pathetic
With all that gapping I just can't see myself ever getting this set. Promo images definitely gassed him up too much, and why they continue to make it difficult to mod older sets because of peg size changes is strange
He didn't posed him right, he just took it out of the box, chainsaw man uses the same shoulders, but he didn't bother posing him, not even trying, this body is just as good as the chainsaw man body, bc it's the same, so buy it if you like that body

One thing that was done right for a Chainsaw man line was the Model kit, classic Chainsaw man look and they also released a Denji ver but had a whole different outfit that being shirtless. You can swap arms and head with each other and the Denji includes his Axe and other accessories. SH Figurarts should’ve done something similar at least

Dope review bro! I think tamashii is just trying to tackle way too many characters and franchises all at once and that is leading to so many figures coming with QC or terrible design choices bc they don’t have that extra love and care, it’s really disappointing to me personally😢
I definitely don’t really like a lot of csm face sculpts from both companies, surprisingly. It’s not like they weren’t trying, but some of the proportions on the faces feels weird across the board. I’m not sure if the art style is what’s stopping it, but when I think of the manga/anime there’s something slightly off honestly.
Amazing review! It's strange they made a different ball peg for the head as they are showing promo pictures with swapped heads with his powered up version, but then it's not possible to do so, strange decission by tamashii :(

I'm so glad I bought this before watching this video. Because it would've detour me from getting it and as it turns out, I LOVE IT! I don't care what people say like "oh the human parts shoulda just came with the regular chainsaw man." Yeah but that would jack up the price, and you'd only get to display him in one form at a time. I'd rather have a Denji hanging around with Power and a separate chainsaw man in the background without too much extra parts on a bag. (Saying this because imagine getting like 2 Figma Denjis, one for chainsaw man and one for Denji form, those Figma bags would just be filled with unused parts and that's gotta be hella expensive.)
Also if the bangs look short, it's probably because it's not pushed in properly/ all the way in. Figured this out while changing the face plates.
got the figure and personally I think while it has its issues its pretty good for how much it comes with and how cheap it was. Doesnt work well in simple poses with the shoulders but it looks pretty nice when its posed right. Definitely better on faces then figma with them having a lot more texture and just a better look to them.
By any chance is it possible to swap the neck and arms to the chainsawman body?

I think it's just a bummer that they somehow screwed up the shoulders in manufacturing. I think the body for Chainsaw Man is way better than the Figma, and I think the faces (while not perfect by any means) are also better than the Figma. They had the perfect body for the Chainsaw Man version, and going by the promotional pictures, they by all means intended to use the exact same body for Denji, but somewhere it went wrong. So now you either need to go and interchange the shoulder pieces between the two versions whenever you want to use one or the other, or buy a second Chainsaw Man and use the shoulders from it. They really ought to do corrections for this kind of stuff.
@Zakjuh Tbh i think the body of CSM is almost perfect, the only thing they had to fix was the tie falling to easy, other that may have the best articulatión system and may have the best movement range of SH, unfortunately they went for this.
I would have preferred them to include the accessories like head and pochita on another figures like they did with Gohan Superhero, or just went straight forward with a 100 dls price but with all accessories

I thought the shoulders for the Figma looked bad, these are worse. The head and faceplates of Figma are better also. I'll still get this one, gotta have that Pochita. Lol. Great review as always.
My guess is sh figuarts didn’t want this figure being “the same” as the chainsaw man do they tried to make the arms different but in doing that, it made the figure worse

I might be wrong and I'm just speculating, but I looked closer at both the Chainsawman version and this Denji version and I'm feeling as though the Denji was just misassembled and the shoulders/arms are put together incorrectly. Obviously, I can't tell for sure until I get my hands on it, but that's my suspicion right now. That, or it was a mismold of some kind. It doesn't make sense to me that they'd use exactly an identical mold for an entire figure (except neck peg ig) only to give it unique butterfly joints.... that look worse in every way. And also the way the figure looks just seems as though it wasn't assembled right.
Again, just my speculation and I can't verify anything, but maybe it's worth something.
His shoulders were a lot wonkier than I can't lie. The figure itself is pretty simple, I just wonder why they didn't still with the old molds tech, no real reason to change it up this much. Otherwise, it's a good figure, and it had a nice review, Ace, no sugar coating.

I'm not buying a second Chainsaw Man to fix Denji, though. Unlike all of the people that just wanted a Chainsaw Man with Denji transformation parts, I was actually looking forward to having them both as separate bodies, since it really is a good body with good engineering (on the first release) and I wouldn't mind having a second. Kinda feel like I lost here because now it's a glorified parts-swapping figure, anyway.
So the only reason to buy this is the SHF Pochita 😅
To me it seems like figma goes more for the anime look well Figuarts goes for more of the manga look in the faces

I’ll admit the shoulder problem is a valid criticism, but overall I’m still liking this over the Figma. More accessories, and while the faces still aren’t great, they’re significantly nicer than whatever Figma was doing with theirs.
2 of the Figma faces were OK in my opinion. Two of the face plates on this guy are OK. It kind of evens out lol.

stuff like the shoulders and the peg size changes is exactly why i dropped everything from sh figuarts (except for this line). tamashii makes far too many strange choices that serve no purpose and give off this feeling of active disdain towards the customer.
They may have done that on purpose so that you HAVE to buy both. Shady move not making the necks compatible, no idea why they didnt just keep everything the same from CSM.
As much as they love reusing parts, I feel like that’s absolutely pathetic

FIGMA definitely killed it with this figure. Plus you get all in one box. Figuarts messed up on this one. Awesome review bro. I needed this to make my mind up on getting the FIGMA one instead.

Figma Denji is still trash. 🤣 I think you rely on that one more because thats your first hands on a Denji. 😜 For the faces, the one face you don't recognize is basically like him yawning like he doesn't care, or used with hands that are together, you recreate the scene in the bathroom with Power as she grants him three squeezes. 😄 Denji covers his face and calls her a goddess. 😄 And you are correct, Tamashii fucked up on the shoulders. I don't know why they did that. 🙄 But its a easy fix. Luckily I had a spare Chainsaw man, but its a easy fix by swapping the entire shoulders from Chainsaw man to Denji. Thats what I did with mine. 😊 He's so much better now as his arms can pose more closer to his body in a normal stance. 😃 And it gets rid of the gaps on top of his shoulders and arm pits gaps. Like i said his arms could not pose more closer to his body. I also swapped out the shoes. 😄 Because the shoes on Denji are a bright white and Chainsaw's is a bit more of a darker white tone. To me it's better this way because it matches when Denji is in Chainsaw man form and the darker white tone goes more with the shading of his shirt. Over all I perfer SHF Denji than Figma's. Better faces, more accessories, better articulation. Only negative of SHF Denji is the shoulders, but once you swapped them out, hes way better. 😃
Are you sure the shoulders that came on Denji weren't reversed? As in, you don't need the Chainsawman shoulders. You just need to put the Denji ones in the right way.
@@Zakjuh - Hi. As I wrote this comment to you I have my Denji figure and his shoulders I took off in front of me, and to answer your question, it's a no. Denji's actual shoulders are not in reverse. If you want Denji's arms to be more natural looking, flushed, aligned and such, you need to interchange Chainsaw man's shoulders onto Denji.

unfortunately, both power and denji got big downgrades when you compare them to the promotional pictures.
in power's case, the whole glossyness in the figure and the cheap looking hair sculpt which is the most noticeable part in my opinion. now denji with that torso and weird face sculpts, mostly worth it for the pochita.
makima is a huge money maker so i doubt they'll fk up that release as well but still let's see what happens.
If they miss her up, I am going to be extremely disappointed.

My theory is that Denji was designed first due to backwards compatibility with the arm swapping, but they released CSM first in line.

I do, it's a more complete figure. I don't care enough for CSM to have 2 denjis in my collection but I would love to have one and be able to change from Denji to Chansaw so yeah team figma here.

I don't think it's posing. I think it's the way they were assembled in the factory. Reversed, or the wrong way around. As you can see, they slope downward on the Chainsawman, but on Denji they peak upwards. Since the rest of the figure (paint finish notwithstanding) is identical, I have to assume that's to do with how it was assembled, because otherwise that would mean they made unique butterflies/shoulder caps for Denji. Only to make the figure worse. That makes no sense to me. I think they were put in the wrong way. Which isn't really the reviewer's fault, but I do wish he'd consider that that might be the case rather than just assuming that thye made a worse figure.
