Biggest point in Marvel Legends favor for me is the inclusion of the goblin helmet, that is my preferred way to display him. I know some people don’t care for it, but I love the look of the goblin helmet
While I was happy spending a lot of money on Figuarts Spidey versus thr 3-pack, I am sticking with Legends Goblin.
You can actually take the fabric piece off on the ML without mods or degluing. Not as easy as SHF, but still the same process.
While the SHF is clearly superior when it comes to paint, sculpt, and articulation, at around 180 with shipping, it doesn’t offer the same value for your money as ML with its 50+ price. The fact we’re making comparisons already and arguing about which is better, already says enough.
It’s the head sculpt for me that sells the legends. The Figuarts head just isn’t accurate. The goggles are fantastic, but it is not nearly Willem Dafoe. The legends is unmistakeable as Willem Dafoe. It is very clear.
@@Dk2396 yeah, I despise the SHF headsculpts for GG. The goggles aren’t removable, the likeness is off, and they didn’t even bother changing the bored expression on either. ML has more options in presentation. You can have it with or without the goggles and you even have his iconic helmet, and finally, it comes with an expression that screams GG and is accurate to Dafoe’s likeness.

A good sculpt can absolutely be ruined by a mediocre paint job, however, I dont think thats his biggest issue there. Those bland ass headsculpts are so lacking in expression, I'd still count them as highly inaccurate to the character. Dafoe's Goblin has so many iconic expressions in the film, giving him that sundowners syndrome looking expression is absolutely unforgivable. For the money, Legends is just objectively better this one time.
Hasbro nailed the head sculpt, yeah it’s not fully accurate but it looks pretty damn good, I mean you save yourself 100 bucks
You actually can take off the purple hoodie on the ML version *without* de-glueing and modification. You just gotta twist the right arm upside down
12:24 I was actually able to remove my marvel legends hoodie without any mods. You just have to kind of force the hole over the ball joint and then slip it under the arm. It looks incredible with the mask on without the hoodie.
Bandai has been on a downward spiral. On 1 hand they are being hammered by HIYA in the Godzilla line, owned by Hasbro in Black Series & Marvel Legends. And battered in even DragonBall with more 3rd parties entering the game
26:15 The SH's have the pumpkin bombs shown, and NWH for hasbro has them covered. Hasbro wins for accuracy.
The pumpkin bombs are shown because that’s how he gets them from his glider. Hasbro’s Goblin is better but them not showing the bombs doesn’t make it more accurate.
@@Oblock550spiderman 1 we can see the bombs. In no way home the hatch covers them so they were not visible until tom ripped it off.
The body,paint and articulation of the body on sh figuarts is better no question. Anybody who argues otherwise are high as hell. But the headsculpt and price is better on the legends. But that price is still overpriced on the legends too for it not to come with interchangeable hands.
S.H. Figuarts are real scale. Their scale is determined by the actors' height. Defoe is 5'7. Mcguire is 5'8. Garfield is 6 feet, so it makes sense. I feel a lot of people misunderstand Figuarts scaling and think they are just bipolar.
Marvel Legends is just standard 1/12 figures except obviously their deluxe figures.
Also, fun little fact. Defoe had this exact facial hair at the end of the 2002 Spider-Man. Nobody remembers that for some reason. I thought it was a cool nod.

Thanks for putting this together! I love the little details on the SHF. I knew I would. I just hoped that head would get better for the price point. I ended up canceling my pre-order. While the legends is of course not perfect, I was not ready for how much I would like that head sculpt.

Both the sh figurarts and the marvel legends are good no matter which one you choose. The Sh figurarts has the detail, articulation, changeable hands but the marvel legends has the size, smiling face, and price.

Shf has inaccurate neck piece. His skin was exposed in the movie not fully armored.

you need rotate the thigh and bend the knees on them more dawg, you can get way more range from them. Get an actual crouch on the glider 💀 I’m displaying my Marvel Legends with the Goblin mask and I love it regardless of accuracy. Also made a kitbash with the extra head sculpt and made a civilian Norman. 🔥🔥🔥

Honestly, Figuarts really dropped the ball this year. From designs to quality control... Tough to say their a top tier manufacturer anymore. Definitely worried to pay their steep prices now that I know it's sort of a gamble.
33:00 fans ain't gaslighting the Marvel legends it is a good figure with 1 or 2 things it could use but for what it is, yeah we are gonna be happy with it and it more close to what we saw in the movie then shf. The purple garment on the ML comes right off the same way as the shf one. But yeah shf def has a great paint job as expected and there heads (unmasked) have never been great. Thinking ima just stay with the ML version I collect both brands tho. I'm sure ML will rerelease the same goblin just from the OG spiderman movie version look which I personally like better. I'd like to get the tobey spiderman 3 black outfit just because even tho the movie wasn't great lol still think that'd be a nice buy. Commenting reminds me I have goblin son from that movie the really old figure they did of him I actually liked his costume with the snowboarder looking glider its like a spidermans first homemade shit type thing. Plus all black definitely gonna put him up next to goblin

Just got the legends one. It is leaps and bounds better than the sfh figure for me, and the entire legends line is superior too in my opinion. A win across the board for hasbro.

Hasbro often over-price their toys and half-ass them but man. They(mostly, that Tobey figure is terrible)pulled out the big guns with their NWH figures.
Oh and, Hasbro's Din Djarin Mandalorian makes SH Figuarts versions 1 and 2 look even worse then they already are
Hasbros is missing so much paint though. The green isn’t accurate and there’s not much mobility without modding. I have both but the shf is better, but it at MAX is worth 100 shipped...
Shf has a lot of flaws. Inaacurate neck piece, blue glider. And its not Goblin without his gap teeth and sinister smile, It's Norman Osborn.

There’s honestly plenty of mobility. I have a lot of excellent poses I’ve gotten my legends into. People aren’t trying hard enough.

For $150-$180, I’d rather buy a Hot Toys Green Goblin.
Hopefully we get a proper Raimi Green Goblin at some point; personally not a fan of all the extra stuff present on the suit
hmm i like the look of the ML version more even though the SH is more screen accurate with the proportions i like the body shape of the ML one better. Personally i think it makes him look a tad bulkier and cooler.

I have the legends one and i hate his leg proportions. His bottom half is almost the wrong scale. And the fact that its kinda meh but still a top 10 marvel legends for 2023 says something.
Then so many people talking sht about hasbro for not having extra neck piece for helmet. But Shf buyers didnt bother about inaccurate neck piece and not having sinister smile of Goblin hahaha.
The new Goblin suit, I didn’t like. Darker green, slightly bigger lenses, bigger helmet. Ig it’s grown on me but the original was better. And all the purple & gold on him is weird. It came outta nowhere. And I wish we got a Tobey Goblin fight on the glider with the Goblin helmet & Tobey punched it & it broke.

They didn't botch the paint. The face was created by 3D printing in color a 3D scan of Wilhelm Defoe. When the actor came to the studio to scan his face he probably had that facial hair.

Why has no one done this yet? If you have both figures you can just take the Green Goblin helmet and put it on the sh figure arts version! And bam, you got kind of that classic look for him. And unlike the Marvel legends you won't have to worry about the neck being exposed😎
because the helmet’s color won’t match (probably) & most importantly size wise it’s too big for the body.

The SHF glider is the most accurate. The NWH glider prop/cgi is pretty flat. But the ML goblin figure is miles better.

S.H Figuarts in general is garbage. I got the Tobey figure and it broke easily. I also got a DBZ Trunks figure that also broke so I had to throw it out. Definitely not worth how much it costs
