    The best camera and lighting in the world won’t help if the teacher doesn’t talk at a good pace, in a happy voice, providing clear instructions that are easy to understand and showing what needs to be done start to finish. You have hit every quality right on the mark. Keep up the good work. I loved the video. So glad you did multiple rows and included the bind off technique

    Your video is excellent!! Your knitting is perfectly visible at all times. Every stitch. I have seen far too many videos that they go so fast and then have their hands over a crucial point that I can not figure out what they did!! You do not need to keep apologizing for anything in your video that you are doing!!!! Very easy to follow. Thank you! 👍

    What a great stitch. Thank you so much. Been knitting 40+ years and never seen it before. I knit my leftover wools into hats and scarves for charity so l'm always looking for something to use up odds and ends but that still looks nice and for scarves, looks good from both sides. I love how soft and lofty this is. Am thinking l may knit a lengthwise scarf in 3 or 4 colours. Also, l loved the pace of your tutorial, for those of us who are tactile learners it's great to be able to knit along with the instructions.

    Thank you for the video. I love learning new stitches and techniques. I think I will use this stitch for a long scarf, casting it on lengthwise so that the stripes go end to end. Would be pretty using a variegated yarn avoiding the laddering up of two colors. Will enjoy using this stitch and bind off.

    Who the heck works these stitch/patterns out!? This is genius! I am most certainly totally incapable of working out and creating patterns like this, so hats off to whomever invented this one! So pretty, chunky and ideal as a cosy winter throw or blanket! Superb!!
    ETA: I would presume using a siuze-up set of knitting pins would give a looser result.. I will try it to see how it affects the lie and tension of the pattern...

    Normally, it annoys me just a little to have that visible colour change on the ws of a flat knit project , but I actually think that the colour change looks pretty good with this stitch. Maybe because you chose such complimentary and fairly low-contrast colours, it almost looks like an intentional design. Very nice.

    Great video. I saw this and thought I would give it a go. Im a bit confused though. I see you cast on 14 stitches, but have 27 after the first row etc. so in my one I have cast on 30 stitches, so how many should be on my needle after doing the first row etc? I would apprecite your help. Thanks

    • @soorwinklesmic
      @soorwinklesmic 5 років тому +2

      bkdnsjck she casted on 14
      stitches. for row 1, knit the first stitch as normal. then knit the rest of the stitches wrapping the yarn twice. (1+26=27) for row 2 and so on, just repeat what you did in row 1.
      then she did a set up row for her bind off: knit the first stitch as normal. then knit 2 together. (1+13=14) finally, she did the judy's stretchy bind off at the end. 😬😬😬

    I have a question about the yarn change - is there a loose piece of yarn left running up the side of the work ? What do you do with that loose piece at the edge to tidy it up? Thanks for your tutoring! X

      Look up "i cord". It's easy and a really nice way of carrying yarn up the side of your work. Watch a video because it sounds much more complicated than it actually is. 🙂

  • @helenb47
    @helenb47 7 років тому +6

    Lovely wee stitch, I noticed on another video you mention a tight cast on row, I always use two needle together to cast on, the slide one away and you have a nice even row of cast on stitches, if using a small needle just use both same size together, if using a larger needle I find one about half its size and use them together, hope you understand, and give it try x

    • @TheNervousKnitter

      Helen Brown thank you! I have seen other people use 2 needles to cast on before, I will give it a try! Thanks again! ❤

    • @nikiTricoteuse

      Well duh to me! Been knitting 40+ years and thought l was so clever cos l had solved the problem of the C/O pulling in by casting on using a needle a couple of sizes bigger. Obviously that doesn't help with the struggle l have trying to force the point of the needle into the stitch so l can work it. Lol. Your 2 needle tip is genius! Thank you for sharing it.

    I'm another fan. I love your videos. You explain how to do it along with great video work, not too slow or too quickly either :) You sound like you're sitting next to one of your friends, showing them how to do it. Is the yarn over in the bind off to make the bind off stretchy like it ends up being? I haven't tried that and didn't know if it's just for this particular stitch or another way to bind off in general. Thanks :)

    btw, dog hair from 3 dogs along with knitting in some of my own strands of hair that otherwise end up sticking on my sweater or jacket if you know what I mean. Boy, when you knit it in a few stitches before noticing it's pretty impossible to pull it out without it breaking off, lol
