A complete copy of Mario's Tennis is the rarest North American game for the VB. This is because the game itself was a pack-in with the console so carts and manuals are very common, but only Blockbuster received actual boxes for the game. Few survived. An authentic box for Mario's Tennis is the holy grail of the Virtual Boy.
Nester was going to be in Pilotwings 64 as well, but they renamed the character on account of them going for a bird theme with the names and no one knowing who Nester was outside of the US.
None of these games should cost anywhere near as much as they do. The bottom 3 should be $2 USD at most, Waterworld should be like 50 cents and even that's pushing it, and Jack Bros should be about $5 USD and that's only because it's a Megaten game and it's actually kind of fun.
Thank you so much for doing this video sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few people that liked the virtual boy never owned it as a kid cuz it was too expensive but man it look cool on commercials.
I got mine at a pawn shop in the late 90's. It came with 5 cartridges for 50 bucks. 6 when I got it home because what was in the cartridge slot? Jack Bros.!
Thanks for showing us footage of the games.. especially Waterworld, glad I haven't been looking for that one too intently... 3D Tetris reminds me of a game I used to play on my old DOS computer called Welltris which was basically Tetris but down a well with 3D shaped pieces.. again, glad I haven't been looking too hard... Now that Jack Bros... Oof.. guess the closest I'll come to getting that is some random lot set of the whole bunch from someone who doesn't know what everything is worth.... Who knows...
recently sold my complete Virtual Boy collection which included all the US games and while i miss having it on my gaming shelf, i found that the games were pretty niche and replay value wasn't there for the majority of games. Great video Nintendrew!
If the Virtual Boy returns, it will be in full color, no serious issues, and full 3D display. And the controllers will be upgraded with 2 analog sticks, and the home button (plus there will be one d-pad instead of 2) with the re-release of Mario's Tennis (now in color and 3D)
I collected for the Virtual boy about 3 years back. Then my device broke and getting another here in Europe is not cheap :( Jack bros. (US) is the only game I am missing in my library and I was too stingy picking up the CIB copy for $500. Now it's so Unlikely that I ever find that game in collectable condition...
Just found your channel and Im enjoying it. Its a fun upbeat channel. Good clean fun full of cool information. No cursing, pushing an agenda, or PC. as in politically correct, stuff. Very enjoyable. Subscribed.
How did you capture for the footage for Virtual Boy gameplay? I've seen a lot of UA-camrs mention it can be hard for virtual boy. Great video by the way!
Now it's time for the prices of these games to skyrocket because he decided to bring them up, just like the many other things he has the last few years.
AVGN did a Virtual Boy review a while back and a viewer sent him the Japanese version of Jack Bros with box.... wonder if he knows that it is probably worth a bit of money these days
Hey Nintendrew, do you think you could make a video about the Wii U? Like best games or something? I just found out the shop for it will be shutting down in March 2023
Hello there Nintendrew! I highly doubt you gonna see this but, I’m considering buying a Virtual Boy, would you know where I could get it and Teleroboxer? I don’t think you’ll see this but just in case you do.
Wow I am coincidentally very early though someone most likely will comment first before o even put this comment up even though everyone hates it when you say first
So glad Nintendrew is finally off of hiatus. I feel like the virtual boy is so underated and misunderstood
I'm curious, in what way is the VB underrated and misunderstood?
Hmmm , "misunderstood" -interesting..
@@StrangeDad A fair amount of its library is, or at least seems, worth playing.

This is an interesting one considering how small the amount of virtual boy games there are

Gotta say: "Ocean presents Water World" is kinda fun to read.
Noz quite three digits fun, but at least a little fun.
Thank you so much for doing this video sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few people that liked the virtual boy never owned it as a kid cuz it was too expensive but man it look cool on commercials.
I own 3 games for my vb and for some reason I don’t regret it. Easily one of my favorite things I own. Gg video
Nintendrew I love your videos! Keep it up my guy
Thank you so much for coming out and spending time with us at OMGcon this past weekend! You're awesome.
I hope one day Nintendo rereleases virtual boy games on switch one day
It was a missed opportunity that they didn't release a virtual boy collection on the 3DS to be honest
@@rorz999 actually a wario land port was in the works but never came out for some reason
I think it would be hard, since the games would be different without the 3D effects.
Finally re recorded his intro walking around his bedroom with a quality camera. Finally!
Aye a Nintendrew video!! Glad to see ya back!

I was door sitting at OMG this weekend. Did you cosplay?
I’ve always loved your videos and I really hope Carl turns out well!
Rarest Virtual boy games?
*I’m just going to say yes!*
Rex Mohs quote (Mario party, Scott the woz)
Never in my life did I think a Virtual Boy game would be rare. Great video Drew!
Yes shocking that games for a console that few people bought would be rare! How about that.
why wouldn't they? they sold very little of course they'd be rare and hard to find
Nester has an *identical* twin sister? Trans rights
I guess Drew doesn’t know what an identical twin is or he just quickly wrote the script.
Was about to make a similar comment
"TOP 5 RAREST VIRTUAL BOY GAMES"
I mean that's almost 50% of the total library my dude. 🤣😂🤣
I missed this!!! Thanks for the great video!
So much as I could find for this obscure console.
look whos back
A NEW NINTENDREW UPLOAD 10 DAYS AFTER THE LAST ONE WOOOOOO
Nice vid
That food delivery service isn't available in Canada.
I honestly wasn't expecting Waterworld to be so high, but simultaneously, I would have assumed that ALL Virtual Boy carts would go for triple digits.
Hey your back !
Could you do a video on how you did the wiring for your consoles… having them all plugged in at the same time and what you used … thanks !!
The real video starts at 2:10

5 is more than the total number of good Virtual Boy games too! 🤣

Who knew a movie tie in was so rare
3:08 -- aww man I had that one as a kid too :(
Loved the video
I'll keep an eye out for those games.
Nentendrew I love your videos and I had a virtual boy when I was a kid keep up the good work!
Expected to have Jack Bros being the rarest in the Virtual Boy
3D Tetris reminds me of an old 90's arcade game called Block-Out. I wonder which came first.
Eh! Welcome back Drew😊
Give us some updates on the rarest games for other systems now.
How did you capture for the footage for Virtual Boy gameplay? I've seen a lot of UA-camrs mention it can be hard for virtual boy. Great video by the way!
My guess is that he just emulated the games on his computer.
I have a flash cart for the Virtual Boy. I have resigned to only having half the virtual boy set. At least I can play Street Fighter 2 now!
Nintendrew can you please make a collecting GameCube guide
Nintendrew answered. Nani?!
Aww he unliked :(
If you edit a comment, it removes hearts haha. I might have to do this!
Lol I’m such a big fan.
@@Nintendrew can I have a shout out if you do
I've got 13 of the 14 NA VB titles... the one I'm missing? Yup, JACK BROS.!!!
All of them??😂
Thanks for the vídeo @Nintendrew. Now, the next episode from the Wii U games, please?
Migraine be damned, I want to have a Virtual Boy and try playing the games it supported.
I would love to see another video on odd 3rd party controllers
Oh shit I had water world on virtual boy that's a trip to see it again

When rare wii u games came out ?
I drew hearts this, I will send him a cookie in the mail
Would unreleased games and games abandoned when the console was 86ed games count in the library for collectors ? Or would they just be curiosities?
Y do i feel like ive seen some of these game at my local comic/game shop?
good thing this isnt the top 15 rarest virtual boy games from the us that's more than the entire us library....

Never thought I'd see a list of rare games from an even more rare console from Nintendo
I HAVE JACK BROS. In my storage containers. 😮😮😮
It's a good thing that I didn't get the virtual boy for Christmas. 😀👍🎮
Hint: All virtual boy games are rare.
Maybe in terms of quantity, but they mostly used to be cheap back in the day... not now

One would think the Virtual Boy is rare enough.
Since you made a U.S list, will there be a Japanese one?
You forgot Virtual Lab though.
I think the street fighter II someone made for the system was pretty interesting
You mean Hyper Fighting?
The 2nd prototype game that fans finished after the official prints ended for virtual boy games?
I love nintendo! But I'll probably will never own the virtual boy. Because this plays color in Red and black. And I was like ouch! My eyes😵 ouch!
How identical are we talking with that sister of nesters????
Waterworld on Virtual Boy...

And, of course, I own none of those. :(

Do you do any Sega stuff I
where was the fifth game?
Atlus is the worst company for localizing a Japanese game.
The first looks like a rip-off of Xenon 2.
The third, of Block out.
Never played them, but that's how they look like.
