I've seen a few videos making the claim that this drivetrain can handle up to 800WHP. Considering KIA's 10 year 100,000 mile warranty, I'd think that they built-in a modest amount of room for upgrades.
@@TheGennessy I've been thinking the same thing man. Im not a mechanic by any means and im not rich but Id pay someone like 8k to mat a g80 MT to the llamda!
500WHP with a choked off system is impressive. Think what it'll do with down pipes and Bourla exhaust, with intake upgrades and an upgraded intercooler.
The kit has big intakes and a big intercooler. I think even has downpipes. The wastegate spring is the big thing holding it down. But they were being safe
Ive heard our fueling issues extend past a hpfp or cpi system, so hoping no issues, im currently FBO including chargepipes, only have sec cat, running e60 cpi jb4 bef, im actually thinking about pulling a one off and going big single turbo. Only questions where to put it xD
Where are they on this project today? And or have you moved onto another build? If so? I'd like to know more. We have a 2020 Stinger, and l'd like to get a cost breakdown on this build. Want to keep stock internals run 93 Octane. I'd like to get more information if possible. Thanks for sharing.
@@new_note10plus90 or put e30 with meth and it can make upwards of 600whp. There’s a stinger down here in Houston making 650 on e30 and wmi it’s an insane build
How safe is it to run this kit permanently on the G80 at the lowest boost with no other modifications except the spark plugs? Any concern of overheating? I routinely drive from California to Arizona through death valley in the summer, overheating there would be BAD. Thanks.
It's good to go...Once we bled the coolant system post kit installation we had no issues. We drove it round town in the heat of the Texas summer and also ran it on the dyno and never overheated.
@@imramericasay no more, I’m getting the high pressure fuel pump from fuel-it + CPI, and headstuds before then, i can’t wait to unlock the hidden korean powerhouse💪
A few reasons: 1. You can spec your own turbos. (Lap3 you get twin XCargot XT26's, and that's your only option) 2. IMR includes the transmission cooler as part of the kit. LAP3 you'll have to buy it separately at additional cost. 3. You have some flexibility in who you choose to tune your car (probably Nathan from SXTH or Terry from BMS), whereas LAP3 you'll have to buy their tune for their setup. Regardless of which one you'll choose, you'll probably want to install ARP head studs (and possibly thread inserts) first. One advantage to the LAP3 build: if you're mechanically inclined, you can have the kit shipped to you and perform the install yourself. Whereas all the IMR kits require you to drop of the car with them. IMR is not currently shipping their kits out, they're in-house install only.
Is it even safe to run your stock calibration with the turbo upgrade? Wouldn’t you be risking engine failure if you make more power than expected and run out of fuel system?
Hey Evan, you should definitely rev the car out a bit more, 7000-7200 is where competitors run it out to with big turbos and there’s no risk of valve float on stock heads at that point. :) Maybe you ran out of fuel because of lack of WMI? 🤔
@@HashMaster1776 Absolutely, but without that information being public I just wanted to put it out there, my cars currently up there for one of the next kits.
Agreed. These turbos have alot more breath and would make more power if I rev it out....however this wasn't an attempt to make big numbers. It was more so a demonstration that the kit is solid and "let's see what it does on the lowest setting with everything fuel wise being stock. I can't wait to turn up the juice on your car though......🚀🚀🚀
@@imramerica Absolutely, it’s a shame though, because while 500@6500 on 93 with 14psi is definitely nice, most of the community is only going to see “500whp with big turbos? What a rip off” which is really disappointing. Hopefully we will be able to show pushing the car a bit further with mine and get some more customers interested ;)
@christucker9566 I don't think they'll see it that way. I think they are smart enough to see that this was the first step and a validation of the kit. If they don't understand that then they may not have enough understanding to own/operate the kit. 💪👌🙏
Gonna need way more than 14 psi or 500 hp to give up that much tq. Why even strap it down without a proper fuel system? Idk if everyone knows that problems occur above 500 or this kia comminity is just scared to live alittle. Fuel it and send it what is even the point?
We were commissioned to build the turbo kit. The customer was not ready for rhe additional mods. Some people build in steps. We finished the kit and the are adding those things now.
@imramerica I don't mean to come off harsh but I'm just confused at the progression of this platform ex. Look at the 24 mustang and whipples collab with ford. And then u have sai li as a budget option and fore as a high end fuel supply option u know 1050x injectors will provide up to x hp and the di fuel pump is tapped but that's why u have port injection. Fwiw I just got my g70 a week ago if other parts can handle if and I see level 10 is working on the trans as week speak let's talk. I won't bring u it with no fuel system and we can head stud it and turn it up to 25-28 psi and see what she can hold. Stock with tune/jb4 pushes 21ish so we need more than that minimum
Looking good! Good to see another company making some good progress on the platform!
Can’t wait to see what you guys got next pretty interesting

Interested to see the stock motor limitations of this car !!

When will you sell the new intakes as a separate item? Heard they were supposed to be released last month?
How much longer until the intakes come out? I love yall are one of the few ppl experimenting with this platform!

What's the Turn-time on doing that build? If everything is the same, what amount of time expected to be in the shop?

No hose clamps on the turbos? Loving this build!
well, they're a real shop and this video is for enquiring customers and those seriously interested, there's a very limiting market for these motors.
Of course the silicone hose is clamped to the turbo. We couldn't hit boost past 5psi if we didn't 😉
What's the 1/4mi trap speed? That's what's important.
That will come in a layer video. The car needs fuel and heads studs...so those. Ay get installed first.

Wow is this a kit i can buy and install myself or do you guys only do inhouse installs etc? Also does the tuning device come with it?
At this time only we are providing the install. Tuning is an additional cost. Starting at about $700
