    Incredibly well made video, I can't believe i haven't heard of you, Subscribed for a lot more of you.
    also could you test what the maximum video recording time limit is while recording at 4k 60 fps? Previous Xiaomi flagships have had an hour long limit but they don't tell you about it until the 1 hour mark, The best way to know is by testing it yourself, I want to know if the phone is efficient enough to not have a limit anymore, also it's for when you want to record something and not worry about it stopping half way through filming a long video on a tripod.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @VNUDrawingArt
      @VNUDrawingArt Місяць тому +9

      Xiaomi's Log video is much more efficient and better than apple's log pro res. Xiaomi has a better dynamic range and detail and consumes about 10 times less memory than an iPhone, which requires recording to go to an external SSD drive. Therefore, there is no point in the fact that all three modules of the iPhone are recorded in this mode, since the quality and optimization are very poor compared to Xiaomi. It is better to have one basic well-recording module like Xiaomi's, which has high quality and 10 times better optimized video.

      It is not optimisation. It is CODEC. Pro res CODEC is less compressed than other codecs, making it have bigger size. And this has some weird advantages but probably not visual advantages.@@VNUDrawingArt

You can turn them off, but Xiaomi likes to "hide" the toggle switches for it. In some apps the option is called "advertisements", in others something like "suggestions". Sometimes its only one toggle switch, sometimes there are more. Not only are there ads but you also have to deal with COOKIES (like on a website). By default they are turned on and if you don't like that you have to deselect them for EVERY SINGLE company in a very long list! (E.g. in the files manager and music player). With the performance of chips since the 8 gen 1 performance drops aren't noticeable when these chips throttle. Xiaomi should just go ahead and implement some smart throttling parameters. 1. The variable aperture is a gimmick. Most users will forget its even there. Why?
    At 24-50mm, you either shoot close focus, where you need the best bokeh at F1.6.
    Or you shoot landscapes or people at over 5-6m, in which case F1.6 on a 1" sensor will always be sharp.
    2. The 5x zoom lens is 1/2.5", the same as Samsung's. And Samsung/iPhones portrait mode processing is really good as well.
    3. The colours are subjective - the filmic look is obtained with a quick colour profile on LR mobile anyway, for novice users.
    Really, the two main benefits to this phone is the lower noise at night with the main sensor and that excellent photography kit. The rest is subjective or a wash.
    The call is on the user whether they want these benefits in return for a less than stellar software experience over the next 3-5 years when you have this over the Samsung or iPhone or Pixel, where the software experience is generally great.
    If you ask me - if it were more competitively priced like say the Vivo X100 Pro or OnePlus 12, I'd have considered it 100%, just for that unique photography kit. It looks beautiful.

      1) The variable aperture is auto and DOES make a difference in day to day scenarios you just explained. You gotta use the phone to really see it, don't just be a keyboard warrior saying it's a gimmick.
      2) The 5x zoom lens sure is the 'same' sensor size, but it's not the same sensor and it's using a different lens element and processing so it's not the same. I'm not bashing Samsung or Apple, but this 5x lens IS better no matter what you believe.
      3) Okay, it is subjective. It's not for everyone. But the fact I DON'T have to use LR mobile to achieve these colors is what's nice about it.
      Why would it be more competitively priced though? Maybe closer to Vivo X100 Pro for sure, but not OnePlus 12!!! That's just absurd with all the camera tech you're getting in a single package.

      @And_Sun_Yk Місяць тому

      @@HeyMarkL 1. I usually shoot with an M43 camera, which is 30% larger than this sensor, and I shoot F2.8 on it across most everyday scenarios - F4 is really not that much of a jump. But if you feel so, great.
      2. Multiple reviews online say the 5x portrait on the Samsung, iPhone pull ahead in processing. Again, if you feel so, great.
      3. Agreed on the colours. I do wish Samsung gave an option for a nicely tuned colours, and it would have been useful for the people who don't use LR.
      4. About the price - I see the OnePlus 12 is $1200 here in Canada, and the X100 Pro is $1400, and the X14U is $1700. My bad - thought the OnePlus was closer to X100. But yes, largely it is priced $200 more IMO - maybe they could have included the photo kit to sweeten the deal.

      Most I’ve seen is the front camera ( I don’t do many selfie’s ) and the portrait shot issues. But the night shots, super slow motion and many other camera features seem intriguing enough that I’ve purchased one and just waiting to see the results myself. I currently carry an iPhone and a Xiaomi Mi10 Ultra that I’ve enjoyed great. Display 2nd to none and when comparing pictures most people are stunned with my results verses theirs. Xiaomi does tend to a touch higher in contrast and saturation. But I personally like that. I can always tone it back. I’m looking forward to the 14u having two picture modes.
      Gonna be fun! 😊

    iPhone 15 Pro Max is brighter than Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi is only bright on paper not in real world.
    Even Pixel 8 Pro isn’t as bright as is Pixel 8 Pro.
    I was sitting next to window and sun was hitting the display and I thought Pixel 8 Pro is very bright and I thought let’s check iPhone 15 Pro Max and it felt noticeably brighter.
    Pixel 8 Pro is also not great in watching HDR content and Pixel feels less bright.

    I have a Samsung s24 ultra and Samsung, in addition to terrible ergonomics, has a very weak vibration, terrible animations, buggy software, a stupid location of the lower speaker, very weak cameras in general, the pictures are always noisy. Xiaomi is much better than Samsung. Samsung is one of the worst smartphone brands. I don't understand those who use Samsung. I still stay on Huawei P30 Pro as the main smartphone.

Vivo/Honor/Oppo/Google/Samung/Apple, you know it's a photo taken from a smartphone, it has a lot more processing. It doesn't mean it's bad but it's clearly different

    • @fundamentallymartin9656

      @@ranmasaotome9631 Precisely. The Vivo knocks out some stunning images ready for immediate posting on social media, but you can tell they are over sharpened and off a phone. The 14 ultra is more of a real camera looking feel. You can always sharpen in post if you wish, but it's tricky to soften instead and them still look good. Best to capture natural looking shots and then tailor to your taste.
