Chemical Guys VRP Protectant First Try and Review - Vinyl Rubber Plastic

- I've been wanting try out the Chemical Guys VRP Protectant for a long time. It's designed for vinyl rubber and plastic. This was my first time trying it out and I was surprised at how well it worked not only on the tires but also on all the plastic trim on my Tesla model S. I've been using a spray on shine but no matter what kind I get, I'm never satisfied. I'll show you how to apply the VRP product and the difference it can make. Spray on tire shine doesn't seem to last very long and the over spray is an issue. This product no only shines and restores, it also protects. This is such a versatile product for maintenance and auto restoration. Here in the Houston sun I can use all the protection I can get. Plastics get white and chalky but the Chemical Guys VRP Protectant makes it look like new.

I put vrp on my panels about 6 months ago and it’s still shining and I collect no dust!
I used VRP recently. It was so good that I'm annoyed with myself I didn't use it before now. Highly recommend this stuff. I found that a detail brush was best way to apply
Thanks for sharing!
I JUST used the VRP yesterday. I was nervous. I’ve never detailed my car. It is the most amazing product. Easy to use. I squeezed it onto a microfibre cloth. And wiped. So easy. The more you use the more shine. Used in on the dash/ instruments and exterior black trim.
Barely used any product and did all seven seats in my van too. Vinyl.
I am a life long customer now.
How long has it lasted ?
Works great on interior I put it on my Exterior trim yesterday it rained and it's all streaky
Finish was great but rained that night and it all went streaky!? I did wash thoroughly before and worked the product in - I have reapplied and hope that it lasts this time.
What did you use to wash it before applying? You may need to use a heavy degreaser or something citrus based to really strip it down to the tire rubber.
Was using the applicator backwards intentional?
Hey Jason. I’ve actually used it both ways and I just prefer it that way 😁
I totally noticed that myself! I was sitting here thinking I've been using that thing backwards.
The music in this video is annoying. Unnecessary.
Cerakote for plastic trim all day ,have tried them all over the last 4 years, Cerakote is a patented formula made in the USA by Cerakote. for tire VRP is ok be will not last more then 2 washes.
The orange degreaser will bring the tires totally clean 😉
I applied this to my Model 3 seats and it looks and feels great. I figured since the vegan leather is essentially plants and plastic, this stuff should suit it just fine. Any one else use this on Tesla leather?
white or black seats?
You didnt mention how long it lasts on your tires
After a week I can tell they're less black looking. With in 2 weeks I definitely need to reapply. I guess it all depends on how much you drive and where you drive. For reference, I don't do a ton of driving. I go into the office once a week with freeway driving but the rest of the time is short distance around town for errands.
Need a closer look at this tires after applied
Can’t see
My apologies I missed the close up on the tires
It is there I missed
My apologies
Great review too by the way
It washes off in the rain or by washing the car easily
I have heard that. How did you clean your tires before applying?
@@freshsquiized chemical guys wheel cleaner and a tire brush then rinse with water
I may do some research here and try some different products for cleaning tires. I wonder if just a heavy duty degreaser would work well.
@@freshsquiized ya it's just the tire products just don't stay on tires that much and usually wash off
@@TheChillDeadpoolnot so much tires but any outside trim. But even the oil based stuff does.
How long did it last on the trim?
Mine lasts 2-3 weeks before I want to reapply. Of course it probably depends where you live. I’m in Houston and we had the hottest summer on record this year.
👍
@Carlos Sanchez thanks for stopping by to check out the channel.
Horrible for tires.
Your review on Chemical Guys VRP is in the minority. It is water based and most say it doesn't last long at all. Can you do an update?
yes it only lasts a few washes or heavy rainhalls.
Pretty sure u used wrong side to apply.. lmao
