I remember when he said that he'd broken rules, then said there was a rule you don't use carbon fibre in submersibles. Then he said "well, I did" and I will never forget the smugness and arrogance in his voice.

I truly appreciate the in-depth information that is being provided. But it angers me to hear about him being described in these courageous terms When he murdered people. He wasn’t a test pilot, he was a test engineer. He couldn’t have flown a f-15 and later find out hs eyesight wasn’t good enough, he’d have known before he flew. And while civilians can fly fighter jets in certain circumstances, they’re usually ex-military pilots so it’s unlikely that, even if his eyesight was good enough, he’d be picked to fly the jet.

When the glass manufacturer will NOT certify the glass of the porthole for the depth that you're going, you're not hitting "milestones"; you're ignoring them. Miles needs to re-evaluate whether he's capable of properly evaluating subs. It seems more likely that he got caught up in the excitement of everything and gave it a better bill of health than it should've gotten, especially when the glass manufacturer's certification was for a much more shallow depth.

The only saving grace for Stockton Rush is that he really believed he was correct. That is clear because he was in the vessel and “went down with the ship” if you will. Pushing the boundaries is risky for sure, but it is this pushing of boundaries that leads to new methods and possibly more efficient ways. That being said, his arrogance and ignoring of the warnings makes him culpable and liable for the deaths of these people.

Have you noticed looking at the images, that just about everyone that died in that sub, had worn those strange bike like helmets at one time or another? Something tells me before Stockton started wearing one, that he most likely banged his head one to many times before wearing one. My guess, his insane risks came from not wearing a helmet until it was too late, and maybe being dropped on his head when a baby? Or not dropped enough times?

Dozens were telling him for years that this vessel would kill anyone on board. A few months prior to this incident, his chief engineer was fired for telling him the problems Titan had. This end was inevitable for Rush.

That's not true. He tried to get other employees to pilot the sub after he fired his original pilot. He knew it was unsafe.
