    That's the first step of alternator diagnosing. This checks whether your battery is being charged. However, if it's not being charged, aside from a defective alternator, the issue may also be a loose wire connection, corroded connection, damaged wire, torn accessory belt. So if you're not getting around 13,8v at the battery, you have to check at the alternator itself too, before you declare it bad.

      @@NafanyaZX Is the same meter good to apply directly to the alternator? Have not taken that step before. Correct, had a loose ground once cause the same issues. Thank you for the advice, will have to a more in depth video for sure.

    Volt meters are good to simply see if your alternator is operating, but the best and quickest way to check your alternator is to get an amp clamp to check actual output

      @@morenpchangjw8868 agreed 100%. I’m just not familiar with amp clamping an alternator enough to show. I’ll have to make a video doing that as well when I’m better versed. I appreciate the comment and help on further diagnosing
