Funny you shaved with an injector today I'm getting mine on Friday can't wait
Always enjoy your videos! I have not been DE shaving very long and I find your videos to be a great source of information. I also appreciate your feedback on the various razors, blades, brushes, soaps, and everything else! Til next time.
Love it! Love the vibes!
Good shave Ken!!! I did a shave this morning with TOBS as well, but I used the Lime Zest soap with the TOBS 74 Victorian Lime aftershave. I still have yet to try an injector razor, but the Supply razor is the one I keep hearing good things about. Have a great day and stay safe!!!!
Great shave Ken. The grapefruit is easily my favourite TOBS cream and one of my all time favourites. There was that rumour a while back that they were discontinuing it, so I stocked up with three! Today a friend of mine kindly sent me another as a present. So now I've got four! Should last a while. Enjoy your shaves and stay safe!
Great Video. I’ve been shaving with a vintage Gillette Red Tip double edge razor for a few years now, but recently started using a Schick Adjustable that I used for many years in the mid-to-late 70’s. I’d forgotten what a great shave it gives. I noticed that your shaving angle looks closer to what works for double-eadge shaving. A lower angle (mabye around 10 degreess) to blade closer to paralell to your skin might give you an even better shave.
Love the Schick Golden 500, so seeing you using those injectors is fun and relaxing. Stay safe Señor 👊🏽 🤙🏽
Greetings from the Canary Islands, Oh my God, that Schick adjustable model was my first safety razor when I started to shave my beard with 14-15 years old, back in 1975-76. My father was a Old Spice + Schick man and in Christmas presented me that safety razor, the shaving cream, the brush and the after shave lotion. I still have that Schick and 5 or 7 years ago I shaved my beard with it again but, time changes the anatomy of any face, and now I prefer my Mühle R89. Thanks for the video.
Hi Ken- Great shave and razor comparison video; thank you! I don’t use an injector razor very much; I have tried a few brands of blades, but haven’t found them to be a good fit for me. The Supply is a nice razor, though. Take good care and be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Ken!
Great video Ken!
I love all my injector razors, the Schick and Pal Adjustables are the best. I only wish there where as many different brands of blades to chose from as there are for DE razors.
Nice shave Ken💈💈 Plastic compared to steel, weight wise that is. I'd like the heavier one also. TOBS is first class IMO. Gotta love the burn man. Stay safe. Enjoy!
Nice shave and good insight! I also love the Grapefruit. My top TOBS are: Eton College (very upscale cologne-like scent), Cedarwood (modern woody-citrusy), Avocado (grassy and flowery) and Grapefruit. I also have Sandalwood and Jermyn Street, the first being in my opinion a quite dated early 20th century type of scent (I've smelled the Rose and it falls into the same category) - enjoyable, but not something that I use often, while the other has a great upscale shaving cream scent, but it's damn weak in strength. Cheers and take care!
My wife says she thinks she’d like that TOBS Grapefruit. Our 32nd Anniversary is Friday......sounds like a nice gift!
I have the Supply Razor since March. Nice shave. I have used both the sensitive setting and setting 2.
@@kensurfs Hi Ken, just the Supply razor single blades. I have read that the Schick blade will work in it.
Great shave. I do have the TOBS cream which is Eton College. I’m not sure when to use it as I got other newly arrived soaps on deck. I used the Razorock XXX soap in my shave yesterday and the slickness was much better than the Proraso soaps I kept using for the last few months
Great video. Been looking at SE razors lately just for a change of pace.
We got 6"-10" of snow here in Minnesota. It's way to early for that crap. The Holy Black did a Ruby Red Grapefruit set last summer with an actual ruby buried in the soap.
That Schlick injector is what I was issued in boot camp 1970. Everyone shaved whether they needed to or not. Some poor guy who never shaved cranked it to the highest setting and took a slice of skin the size of a quarter off his cheek. I told him to take the paper off of his styptic pencil and roll it over his cheek.
Really do like using the modern Supply razor. I don't have a Schick Adjustable, but have the Pal Adjustable, which, apart from the handle, is stainless steel. Likely comparable to the Schick in performance.
Hey Ken. Another great video. Keep them coming 👍By the way I like scary movies too🎃🎃🎃🎃
Mr Ken, never thought of lathering twice in one shave, interesting may actually help with the burn, I used to just spot creamed ruff areas
thanks for the video , and all the best
Great shave Ken, well done! ;) Have a good day, take care and stay safe my friend! #Heart
Nice shave. My favorite movie to watch around Halloween is Beetlejuice.
Hi Ken, I have been following you for quite a while now and you are awesome. Please continue the amazing work. If possible, I would love to see you review the Noble Otter rawr shaving soap and possibly compare it to Proraso.
I can’t say I would buy a supply razor, as unfortunately I had a bad customer service experience on Instagram. I saw an ad for one of their razors, and a gentleman asked a question in the comments about razors and different soaps (it was posted weeks ago, Supply didn’t reply), to which I replied to him and recommended Stirling soaps. The person running the account told me to ‘take a hike’.. seemed unprofessional to me as I was just responding to someone in the community.
Anyways, nice shave Ken!
Supply makes a rubber grip and a stand now 👍🏻
I’m glad you listened to my suggestion for soap and aftershave, I think it’s the good combo 😉 as to the black beauty, I was asking about King C and feather blades, however I would also like to see the black beauty with the feather in it 😁😁😁 but yeah the quorum in my opinion is a timeless classic 🙂
I love my vintage Schick Injector Razors, some of my favorite outside of my Straight Razors. You needed to dial up the Schick a bit, would've been closer in aggressive feeling to the Supply.
If you like grapefruit scented soaps have you tried Grapefruit from Southern Witchcraft? I just got it in a trade, very nice.
I really enjoy my "Stick Schick". Haven't tried Schick blades (so-called Chicks, now that they're made in China). The Personna blades in the generic white case are decent. These are what Supply carries, but I think you can easily find the blades cheaper elsewhere.
Hi Ken very intresting vidieo I asked about a week ago if you could do a truefitt and hill shaveing cream vidieo
I only have the truefitt and hill aftershave. I haven’t bought the shave cream
I have 5 Schick Injectors of various types and vintages and I like them equally well. I'd like a contemporary injector but not at contemporary prices. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one used on Ebay.
My supply se has no plates or adjustment settings. It simply has a serated guide unlike yours. It shaves very nicely and provides zero cuts or nicks (not even sure its possible with it) you should pick one up and try it, I'm sure you will be very happy.
Finally! Someone shows that he is using a bowl of some kind to rinse the razor instead of using the sink or the faucet. (about 8:18 on your video's timeline)
Excellent demonstration, thank you Ken.
Amongst the razor I particularly like is the Schick Injector (29g black ebonite horizontally knurled handle of the seventies, similar to the one you nicely demonstrate but not adjustable), which I have been shaving with for some 40 years. The Supply seems a welcome near-enough resurrection and I am pondering it.
On construction I would be grateful for advice if the base plate engages positively, as through grooves and ridges, onto the razor’s platform such that the coupling allows no sideway slippage, before inserting the screw.
For a feel on how solid the assembly is, I wonder how deep does the screw anchor onto the backing platform (number of full turns it needs to seat truly).
Sorry to trouble you, and thank you.
Hi ken. Would u mind trying out the rockwell blades in their razor? 😁👌 Greetings from switzerland, stay safe
Supply was my first post-disposable. I did not have a great experience, the blades were not cheap and I got a couple dull duds in the first pack, definitely too aggressive. Injectors feel like a gimick to me now. Sent it back and went Merkur. DE all the way now!
Hi Ken, can you use Schick Injector blades on supply 2.0 Razors?
Hi Ken can't find any reviews on the VINTAGE SCHICK 2 II INJECTOR RAZOR any info at all would be much appreciated buddy. I can't see that it's adjustable. Thank you.
Hey Ken, big fan here! How does the Schick injector compare to the Twig? And which would you recommend for razor bump-prone sensitive skin?
I’ve tried the supply 3 times now and I keep getting cuts pretty bad. Not liking it so far and advice would be very helpful. Thanks. Great videos.
trac 2 shave and or atra shave with not gillette blades thanks gineric blades
ive been shaving with a safety razor for a couple weeks and enjoying it.... thinking about picking up a supply razor. just wondering, does it only take proprietary blades?
Pretty much I’m told. You could start with a Schick injector to see if you like them from eBay
What did you think about that little knob/button on this Supply SE? I think that button is great to just remove the part to of the razor’s head to clean the inside, which is convenient, but I’m not crazy about how the turning of the button/knob feels. It’s not a smooth turn that comes to a stop, turning it doesn’t feel good quality. How long is that spring on it going to last? And it’s hard to tell when you should stop tightening it and know when you should stop tightening it.
What were your thoughts about that?
And can you use regular double edge razors to pop in half and insert in this Supply Co. SE Razor?
Thanks:)
I've tried the Schick blades on the Supply razor and they do not fit well.....the blades are too thin. Any recommendations for s substitute for the Supply blades?
The Supply Razor looks exactly like my Personna "Star Trek" razor. The Personna razor could only take Personna blades or Ted Pella's . It has something to do with the Gap . The Schick Adjustable and Standards are excellent products .
Are you talking about the vintage Personna injector that looks like the Pal adjustable injector? I have both of those razors and use modern Schick injector blades with no problems what so ever.
Hey ken, Do you have a pal adjustable by chance? I would like to see a comparison video between the schick adjustable and the pal adjustable if you have them.
I have both.
Pal razor : Heavier than Schick, more aggressive on high setting, need both hands to adjust setting.
Schick razor : Much lighter than Pal, milder on low setting, can change setting with thumb of hand that is holding the razor.
Both are great razors
Schick is such a great brand and speaking of 70s my mom don't like Chaps she said it smells like a old lady's purse.
I’ve used the short handled 50’s Schick injectors for years. Tried the Supply, but the handle is too long for me. Ordered the cheap OneBlade model and hope to put it into action on a 4 day stubble tomorrow. Love your videos!
The OneBlade Core is good looking, well balanced, and delivers the WORST shave I’ve ever experienced. Impossible to use!
Great review Ken! Makes me want to search for a schick injector on ebay. Out of curiosity! Btw, I can't stand the wet dog smell of badger brushes but love the consistency of synthetics
@@kensurfs i like the simplicity of a synthetic. Easy to clean up and dry afterwards
Hi Ken, what do you do with your soaps after you lather in the container, do you dry them? if so for how long do you dry them and how you do it?
@@kensurfs thank you very much Ken, im new to wetshaving and had some doubts when it comes to soaps and how to care for them, saw one guy on ytube that stored his soap improperly, he rinsed the soap and closed the lid right after and got bacteria and mold growing on his soap... with spots and nasties on it
Hi Ken, I've been watching your videos for a while and I've never seen you use A&E shave soap. I apologize if you have used it and I just have not seen the video. Some people out there think it is the best soap on the market, but I'd like to know what you think about it. I have annoyingly sensitive skin and I use a mild razor and Derby Extra blades which are also super mild and even with that combo I need a good shave soap. I have tried Proraso and I can use that but I can't use TOBS shaving cream which surprised me because many people swear by it. I currently mainly just use Stirling soaps because they are the best I have tried and they have so many great scents but I'd like to know what other soaps or creams you would recommend and maybe even try an A&E soap. Love the videos and hope you're doing well.
Hey Ken, was thinking of getting an injector razor. Was thinking of the supply se but now I'm interested in the Schick in your video. What would your opinion be using either of these since i shave my head?
Ken:
What are your thoughts on the supply vs the twig? I am like you say, late to the party on this.
Let me know James.
Shick injector always takes me back to Live and Let Die. When it comes to rinsing the razor, is using a bowl and pouring it down the toilet better than just turning on the faucet to rinse the hairs down the sink drain?
@@nathanieldaiken1064 thanks for your opinion, I may use a bowl the next shave to test it out.
I only have use of one hand so i can’t pull the skin any suggestions on shaving around the Adam’s apple i always nic the damn thing than you and be well
I might get a different razor/blade combo. I use the 34C with a WSG and I’ve been pretty lucky on my neck
They tell you specifically with the Supply not to apply any pressure and to let the blade do the work. I can tell you're pushing way too hard on your face which is why you're bleeding. The new Supplys also come with three diff plates for gentle to harder. You may be using the wrong plate or not had one with yours.
did you cut your self? I have been shaving double edged for 40 years and have cut myself in a least twenty, really?
Never got this you can join the military at the age of 18 but you need to be 21 to have a beer 🤔over here you can drink beer at the age of 16 🍺Prost 😉
Just pay attention, these people are not regular customers, I believe they're paid review, I am searching for review that is not paid by the vender or by the company. I am having hard time to find one unpaid or regular customer. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!
I’m not paid by the vendor. I shave for the first time on camera, no rehearsing 💈💈
Gave the Supply razor a try, but didn't like it at all. Tough on the face and never could get a close shave. Good folks there however. Got a full refund. Just not for me.
11 minute shave... with talking... how is this even possible... For me it takes aroung 40 minutes.
Yes. once you are proficient with your setup, the shave goes fast.
@@adamthevintagerazornerd2767 Well... He is not doing against the grain.
@@fringefringe7282
Doesn't matter. I can do 3 pass much, much faster than 40 minutes
Hi ken!! You got me into wet shaving about a year ago and it has been the best decision of my life. I actually look forward to a shave now!! I hope you are having a great day, stay safe ken.
Awesome. Thank you very much👍👍👍👍
It was Ken that taught me how to shave
@@kensurfs hi, what safety razor would you recommend as being the best to use for shaving that area under the nose? there is any razor more suitable for that?
Why do people waste all that money on expensive cartridges!
