Ok, I understand why Norwegians are so proud of their country. Fantastic nature! Many many thanks for this amazing video.
We appreciate the nice comment! Thank you!
Yeah, they like also to pollute other countries with their oil but hey...they move electric...LOL...and like to kill whales regardless the international ban. So proud of it aren't they?
Look on those two fine specimen of humans, its not only about the nature! :)
@@i-am-your-conscience Thank you so much for such a nice comment! Have a great day!
@@i-am-your-conscience Nothing to say about them, they're great.
Well done! Truly enjoyed your wise perspectives on the value of travel by foot and the grandeur of the mountains. Most of all, your joy at seeing the orcas, sea eagles and incredible views was just wonderful to observe on film. We need more joy in this world and nature has it in overwhelming abundance if we seek it.
The fjords have such a unique aura. My grandfather immigrated from Vik to Minnesota as a child. Despite spending the rest of his life in America, he was so proud of his heritage. He passed that pride down to me!
Lots of Norwegian blood in Minnesota 👍😊
Fabulous trip - thanks for showing the rest of us! Your positive attitude is a beacon for us all - even in the face of the biting flies, which can test the endurance of anybody! Stunning scenery and full credit to you both - it must have taken a lot of extra work and time doing the filming and drone footage as well as navigating / hiking the route itself. Great editing also. Hoping I will get to Norway one day soon from the UK, probably by motorcycle, Lofoten on my list of must go to places! Thanks.
Thank you for the nice comment! Will recommend you to go and there is actually a good road going through Lofoten as well which must be fantastic to motorcycle! A lot of great day hikes available from that road as well! Just beware that you might not be as lucky as we were with the weather!
This is so inspiring. Life should be more about enjoying the beautiful gifts that nature offers and your attitude towards things in this trip vlog is so positive! Randomly stumbled across this and really enjoyed it. And also have to say, the drone footage and overall video quality is so good. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! We really tried our best to make some beautiful images!
Do you live near mountains yourself? :-)
It is actually quite unbelievable how beautiful our world can be when left alone and untarnished by human interference.
Absolutely breathtaking landscape and shots
Thank you so much!
How do you enjoy nature yourself? :-)
God is human construct of the mind, nothing more, it doesn't exist outside the framework of the human mind and as such does not exist in our shared reality. Only between people of the same delusions is god shared as a real being.
But it's existence, just like people who think the earth is flat, or those who think they are of a sex they obviously are not by evidential physical appearance and non objective reality, just as them it is not real but merely a delusion that is formed by your minds inability or refusal to accept reality for what it actually is.@@jungletiger1900
That was so enjoyable to watch from start to finish, loved it, thank you both. Love from Ireland
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope to visit Ireland some day as well. Have to have a Guiness on an irish pub after a hike some day!
Tack för en fantastiskt fin film! Snyggt filmat och medryckande berättat! Ett extra plus för att ni med kartor och beskrivning var så tydliga med hur ni gick. Kul för mig som funderar på att göra en egen tur i området. Allt gott!
Tak for den virkelig gode kommentar! Det sætter vi stor pris på!!
Du må sige til, hvis du har spørgsmål til turen, inden du selv begiver dig ud på den. Lofoten kan bestemt anbefales!
@@Refsenbro Hej! Tänkte bara hoppa in och säga tack igen. Allt gott!
What a gorgeous place! Thanks for sharing your hike with us. You really were in good shape carrying those packs up the mountains - glad you had no injuries. Thanks again from a fellow Norwegian. Peace and Blessings!
Thank you for the great comment! I am sure you are in great shape as well? (Seems like all Norwegians are from a Danish perspective)
What an awe-inspiring journey! Trekking through the stunning landscapes of Lofoten for 14 days, facing challenges and embracing the Arctic beauty, truly captures the essence of adventure. 🏔 Your dedication to exploring the wild and sharing this documentary is truly commendable.
Kudos to the team behind this remarkable experience!
Congratulations! Thank you. You are talking from a point of view, from experience that most hikers have. Your opinions, your observations are relevant to average hiker. That makes your video interesting beyond the beauty of the trail.
Wow - stunning scenery and great editing! My legs went funny when Lina was sitting on that rock! 😱 Tusen takk!
Thank you for the kind comment! I can tell you, I didn't feel good about Lina on that rock either!

Try the Boundary waters in MN. Even more beautiful. Go canoeing and camping there, it's amazing (maybe be careful with bears, haha)

That's a long journey but I'm glad it was worth it! Any reasons that Lofoten, Norway was the choice of your vacation?
You've probably visited the south island of New Zealand, but if you haven't I will also greatly recommend to go there as the trip for you is a little shorter! (I have video of my 5 months there on my channel as well)
Enjoy the summer, while the snow is falling here!
@@Refsenbro Thank you!
It was a long journey and we took the family to London, Norway (Lofoten), Italy (Florence), Switzerland (Grindelwald) and Paris. Norway really stood out for us with its incredible topography and that is it so different to Australia. We all agreed that we would certainly return one day. My dear old parents (at 80) did the walk to the top of Ryten (near Ramberg) with our kids who were 7 and 9 at the time, and that was a real highlight. We also drove from Alesund to Bergen via numerous fjords! Amazing, though I was very conscious of the speeding fines on offer... :-)
Being Aussies, we love visiting NZ and we'll check out your channel. Hope to see you in Australia one day!
@@deldridg Sounds like an amazing trip! Aussies are really made of something special, hiking Ryten at 80 years of age! As a Dane I am in awe of the conditioning of Norwegians and Kiwis (and now Aussies as well!).
I love your drive from Ålesund to Bergen as we have just moved to a place between the cities! The nature in Western Norway is so incredible beautiful as well and great conditions for skiing in the winther!

Haven't thought about Dutch nad Danish being very similar before, but I guess they both have similarities to German as a "gab" language?

Good to see the lofoten's again I cycled through on my way from England to the north cap thirty years ago, cycling through the tunnels was a bit intimidating I had assumed they had bridges!
These days when backpacking I use walking poles and a lighter pack
Sounds like an amazing (but tough!) trip on a bicycle!
Does Lofoten look like itself from back then?
@@Refsenbro yes it hasn't changed much tho the cakes look like they have got bigger 😄
I agree that walking poles are a must on any trekking adventure for myself too. Much easier to climb and go down hills. Especially if it's slippery / rocky. You can always get 3 points of contact and stay safe.
Beautiful video! Thank you very much for sharing!
I appreciate your authenticity and your way of reflecting on decisions. So you did both: a beautiful and impressive account of your journey and an enriching reflection of nature and your role in it.
Thank you so much!
How do you enjoy nature yourself? :-)
I did the UK Coast to Coast about 20 years ago. That was 320 kilometres in ten days crossing the English Lake District and North Yorkshire Moors. Surprisingly, the Yorkshire Moors was the hardest section as although the mountains we crossed were not as high, they were generally steeper which was hard on the knees when descending.
There are no mountains in England Trevor!
Are there free places to camp out in North Yorkshire Moors, like you can just camp for free in Norway?
Never hiked in GB ourselves, but have been looking somewhat into it lately. Would you recommend that route?
@@Refsenbro Very definitely. It takes you across the English Lakes District and the North Yorkshire moors. Being a popular route it is well served, so the popular thing to do is have a big bag driven to each overnight stop nd only carry a day pack. I have done most of the New Zealand Great Walks and the English Coast to Coast is as memorable as the NZ tracks.
I thoroughly enjoyed this from my home in Washington State, USA. We have similar mountains and waters, but there is an extra beauty and magic in Norway not even Washington can match. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it! I am sure you can get some fantastic nature experiences in Washington State as well!

Hi! I've been dreaming since years now to hike in Norway and especially in Lofoten! I'd like to wildcamp just like you two did. This video is literally how I've imagined it! I think this year I'm finally going to make my dream come true and go to Lofoten. But I don't want to do it alone. So do you know some local guides who'd be prepared to do this with me? Was a dream of ours too, so we finaly decided to do it! (and show everyone else that is possible without being greatly experienced)
We don't know any guides though, but I am sure you can book trips. Otherwise, you might have a friend or two with some hiking experience you can ask to come along? Hope you manage to go, it will be a great experience, I am sure!
Did you do it? :)

Tusen takk for en bra film og tur , fine folk og gode bilder
Takk for en god kommentar!
I wish I could give this two likes! With over 50+ years of hiking, climbing, paddling, etc. behind me, I wold like to make a few comments:
1. For once the title wasn't clickbait. This really was the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen and I have lived in and travelled to many different places.
2. I was momentarily taken aback when I saw a map, compass, and two people who obviously knew how to use them. I lost count decades ago of the people and groups I had to lead out of the backcountry because they couldn't navigate. Even more distressing was the number of people and groups I had to lead out of the backcountry that were carrying maps, compasses, and GPS receivers, but who didn't know how to use them.
3. I was honestly saddened to see that even a paradise like Norway has buffoons and idiots who are inclined to shoot holes in signs. Don't misunderstand me...I own firearms and carry one continually. But I can control my destructive urges enough not to spray the landscape with gunfire. Morons who shoot holes in signs are exactly the kind of creatures that should not be allowed to own or possess a firearm.
4. It was interesting to pick out cognate words of English-Norwegian. I had actually forgotten that both English and Norwegian are Germanic languages. At one time, speakers of Olde Norwegian, Olde High German, and Olde English had no difficulty communicating with one another.
5. One point that was clearly illustrated is that on long, arduous trips, minor conveniences are most important, yet simultaneously are least able to be accommodated because of weight/bulk restrictions. Our two intrepid trekkers were continually complaining of sore legs, yet they were toting along a tent that looks like it could sleep six. Instead of bringing along lightweight titanium mugs/cups they carried heavy wooden drinking cups. Before some know it all readers pounce on me for my statement: yeah, I got it. Bring along what makes you most comfortable. But don't bitch about the weight and/or sore legs.
6. Potentially contaminated water was mentioned. Really, no water filter weighing next to nothing? Leave behind the squad-sized cooking pot, get an Evernew titanium one, and bring a water filter.
7. She said she "could live there." Without the least bit of exaggeration or being dramatic, I could too. I am retiring next year, have no family, no children, no attachments, and all of my ex-wives have been paid off. My only problem-besides Norway's emigration policies-is one of money. My retirement will only be about US $5.000,00/month, and I'm not sure that's enough to live in such an expensive place as Norway. I would even be willing to learn the language and be an English language teaching assistant, but if I don't have enough shekels, I can't live there.
8. I think I would find some other convenience to leave behind and bring along a few hundred grams of extra fuel to heat my bathwater. The notion of wallowing around in near freezing water causes my testicles to ache.
9. If you look up the word "charming" in most dictionaries, you would see a picture of our two hikers. This is quite refreshing.
Sure it is nice in summer. Could you handle the winters? Or would you shoot yourself with the gun you carry continually?
There are countries where you don't need guns and don't have bad winters.
Mate they are just as beautiful.
Do some more research.
Thank you for the nice and very honest comment! We appreciate it greatly!
Regarding point 4, the English-Norwegian similarities are very funny. If you visit the Shetland Islands it is very apparent that the two languages are closer than one should think. It feels like hearing Norwegian but it's all English words.
Regarding point 5, I don't hope it felt like we were complaining. We just thought the trip was tough and that leads to sore legs - not that we wanted to change anything! We were very focused on this being a trip for enjoyment, not a survival course, so we did bring items that weren't weight optimized but just increased the overall enjoyness of the trip (such as an aesthetic wood cup compared to bringing a plastic one).
Again, thank you for the great comment! Hope you get to live here one day!
@@Oscarcat2212 : I have lived, not just visited, in Idaho, Wyoming, and Illinois to name a few. I don’t think the winters in Scandinavia are much more brutal than what I experienced living in those aforementioned places.
As for carrying a firearm, I am a retired Deputy Marshal and retired law enforcement types tend to go armed. I am also a certified basic pistol and basic rifle instructor. I am certified to teach Personal Protection Inside the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home as well as being a Chief Range Safety Officer. People with those types of teaching credentials also tend to go armed.
Shoot myself because of a bit of nasty weather? Not hardly. I am nothing remotely close to being the suicidal type. I do suppose that there might be a reason to take my own life that I haven’t considered yet. In that case why would I choose a firearm and provide the spineless and the mentally infirm more reasons to blame an inanimate object for human death or injury? My home state is currently considering the use of nitrogen gas as a means of capital punishment. While I do not support the death penalty I can see why N2 might be chosen and why it would be an “attractive’ method of commuting suicide. Nitrogen is an odorless colorless gas that accidentally kills quite a few people worldwide each year. Nitrogen asphyxiation is completely painless and people being poisoned don’t even realize what’s going on. They just quickly and quietly lapse into unconsciousness.
The result is a rapid, clean, painless death. You should try it sometime, preferably sooner rather than later. Do it as a favor to your parents who would forever be freed from the frequently embarrassing task of explaining away the antics of their idiot child.
@@LA_Viking you should be able to get by well on 5 grand a month in norway. Especially with a frugal outdoors lifestyle.
@@flightsimvids2105 Thank you sincerely for your input. In many locales I know I could live well on that sum. But I was concerned primarily with income taxes. I have no form of any deductions or any mechanisms to lessen my tax burden. Stack health care costs on top and I will have a difficult time even in my home country who appears to want to tax me at confiscatory rates.
But after hearing your input, I think I will revisit the situation. Thanks again.
Not gonna lie I thought the title of the video was The most beautiful woman in the world.
What a sugary and trite compliment!
.. I mean, I was going to write the same, you have just forestalled me!
should have been: the most beautiful hikER in the world
Wait...so it *doesn't* say that?! Huh... they must've made a typo! 😄
How true, wow. She’s distracting me from the scenery!

@@platzhirsch_survival Looks amazing! Did you enter the wilderness by helicopter?
@@Refsenbro the way took me 3 days. On the first day I took a flight to Stockholm and then to Luelå. From there I went with the bus 🚌 to Jokkmokk and then on to kvikkjokk. That took another two days. The helicopter is there.
Outstanding landscapes!🙏

Glad you enjoyed it! Do you you hike yourself or just enjoy nature in general? :-)
Well, I moved to Austin, TX a couple of years ago. There are no mountains in the state at all. But I do enjoy hiking when I get the chance. Maybe I'll be inspired by your videos and you'll see me in Norway one day haha
@@JustCallMeDude500 Norway is a great place to hike, but US has some amazing national parks as well if you don't want to cross the Atlantic for a hike. I do like that Norway dosen't have any dangerous animals though. ;-)
@@Refsenbro haha yes you are totally right. Plenty of national parks in the US, with plenty of bears 🐻.
