Just started a hiking channel myself and it is great to get inspiration from creators like you! Keep it up man.
Got recommended your video while on the plane back home from lofoten. I enjoyed your video a lot, great narration and cinematography. I understand how tough the weather was, I myself had 7 rainy days with absolutely no visibility out of my 12 days. I’m excited to follow your journey, Lyubo!
Hey, thank you for the support! And yes it looks like the weather at Lofoten is one of the toughest part about being there, I hope you still managed to have a great trip! And a new film is already in the works :)
Thank you Momchi! Currently I don't have any short term plans to visit Norway, but who knows maybe in a few years I might be drawn to visiting Norway again.. so many incredible places to see there!
Good on you for turning back while you still had fun 😌 and that you've taken that rest day after the night at the cabin, that looked so nasty. love the video, your shots are amazing as always. Honestly it's so good it could do without the drone. I'm often conflicted when it comes to using them since it's very loud and disruptive to wildlife and I'm glad many national parks are starting to ban them but often I can't deny that they elevate a video. You put up the camera so well, I didn't even miss it though. Love your narration as well :) I'm excited to see where you take us next!

Having a van or a campervan while being there would have helped to make the experience more enjoyable :) And yes, no drone flying in the national parks, but I agree when used sparingly drone shots can add another dimension to the visuals. Thanks again for the comment and happy hiking!
Lyubo! You're Awesome! Great journey,! if you ever will miss a whole day hiking under the rain, being walking through the mud- welcome to ireland- guaranteed to keep you wet 😉
Hey, thank you! :) And yes that type of conditions were definitely something new to me... I can imagine it can be tough living in such conditions all year round, but I'm sure there are also countless panoramic views 🏔
Thank you! Yes, bringing a small drone for this trip was definitely a good idea! I could have flown it at a few more spectacular places, but I was trying to follow the regulations, and so I never flew it at their newly established national park where no drone flights were allowed. For future trips would try to get even more drone shots :) Happy hiking!
Mate that was incredible. I never really thought of hiking in Norway (it's a long way from Australia!) But now I'll definitely be going one day. That was seriously brilliant. Good job mate!
Thank you, I am glad it was inspiring! And I probably only scratched the surface of what that area has to offer.. truly incredible nature! I hope you will get the chance to visit Norway (and many of the other great mountains in Europe too)!
Such a great video! Big inspiration for my upcoming trip to Lofoten this July. Let's see what the weather holds for me. I will probably do some two-day hikes, camping at Kvalvika Beach looks amazing!
Absolutely amazing. Visit k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place. Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower
6:41 i was hiking in the same area and i saw this cabins too. Some other hikers said the cabin can be opened with a key, which you can get in the nearest town.
Hey, Yes I think that's true. Earlier that day I passed by the Munken area and there were the Munkebu cabins, which other hikers had already booked, and I am guess it would be something similar with the locked cabins where I stayed that night.. It would have many a huge difference staying inside that night with the rain..
A wonderful video and trip. I've been thinking of hiking in Lofoten, and this makes me definitely want to do it. I was wondering, though, what food do you use for cold soaking? I've been trying different things at home, but I haven't found anything I can eat a lot of (to get enough calories when backpacking).
Thank you, I'm glad it was inspiring! Well, regarding cooking, I am not very picky, so I can usually eat similar things most of the days, I would usually have oats with nuts, dried fruits, sugar, protein powder; then for snacks I would have a variety of bars, nuts and raisins, cranberries; and then for dinners it would usually be either couscous or noodles with TVP, peanuts, coconut flakes, and some kind of sause can add a lot to the taste. Best of luck on your future hiking trips!
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed watching it! And yes, well spotted - I did shoot in Slog3 picture profile, however on this hike I didn't use ND filters and just closed down the aperture and tried to keep the shutter speed below 1/100. I had used ND filters in the past but the ones I had were pretty bad (VNDs from K&F concept) and they added too much color shift to the image, that I decided not to use them... what has been your experience with NDs so far? And cheers to Chris @gratefulhike :)
@@luboyanev I am not super experienced with ND filters, but I've recently learnt that variable ND filters are actually not ND filters but made of two polarising filters, hence the color shift.
Thank you for the inspiration. I like your shots and the storytelling! I wonder how you managed to pack everything in only one backpack? Is this a hand luggage-sized backpack or a check-in bag? I struggle to fit everything in my 40l backpack (including hiking poles which are not allowed as carry-on)
Hey, thank you and I'm glad it was inspiring! I would usually just fly as a carry-on, trying to compact everything as much as possible. And so far, I have had only one issue with the trekking poles where they told me that I had to check them in, and that was flying out of Corsica. All other flights I didn't have issues with them in the hand luggage. But one time before also on my trip to do the Chaminix to Zermatt, with my other friends we had one duffel bag as a checked bag for our treking poles and other items, and the rest as hand luggage. Hope that helps and happy hiking!
@@luboyanev I got another hiking backpack from Decathlon that I would put as check-in luggage with the poles so that worked for me. I did not want to risk paying extra at the airport to check in the bag for the slightly oversized backpack and the poles being a potential weapon. I had a great trip with warm and sunny weather and managed to visit some of the places you showed in the video including swimming naked at Kvalvika Beach😁 Especially helpful were the tips on how to get around (bus, hitchhiking, ferry) as a solo hiker. @@marcotravels Hey, I'm glad to hear! It sounds like your trip went pretty smoothly, and nice that you also managed to swim at Kvalvika beach, magical place! And especially if you had a good weather throughout the whole trip, that's probably quite lucky too.. Cheers and happy hiking!
So sad you had so much Norwegian weather Lyubo. I had to abandon on the GR221 a few weeks ago due to sickness. These things happen, but the Mountains will wait for us to return. Stay safe.
Yes, the weather and the trail conditions definitely caught me off guard. And you're absolutely right, the mountains will be there, waiting for us to explore their beauties :) And I hope you got over your sickness, happy hiking!

Very nice video! I went to Lofoten last summer, and had a quite similar experience as you - the rainy and stormy weather made me decide to cut the trail short. Also, it was more technical than I expected, and my knees was struggling to keep up. I have also seen you video on GR20. How would you say the two trails compare? :) 🗻
Thank you! Yes actually most of the people I met that were dong the same route, due to weather had also made changes to their trip, cutting it shorter or skipping sections. And comparing it to the GR20, I had perfect weather for the entire trip on Corsica (maybe I was lucky, as I have seen other people experiencing tons of rain). I would say the trail on GR20 was also pretty rugged and rocky, but at least it wasn't wet and boggy. On Corsica I also had some problems with my knees because most of the days I was covering two stages in one day and from all the hard surface my knees were starting to hurt towards the end of the day. But overall I had more pleasant experience on Corsica, and great views there too... Happy hiking
@@luboyanev Thank you for your reply! From the numbers I can see that GR20 also has more elevation gain compared to it's distance, and hence I can imagine it to be hard on the knees. Also covering two stages a day is quite hardcore! I will probably do GR20 in the future sometime. Happy hiking to you too! :)
Yes, for me the hard times on the GR20 were totally worth it, it is an amazing trail with surprisingly great mountain views for being on an island in the Mediterranean :) I hope you will have a great time out there too, Cheers!

Great sources for information for this hike are the Rando Lofoten website, and the blog post by thehikiglife called The Long Crossing of Norway. Best of luck and I hope you have a great experience out there!
Beautiful video, loved the still frames. I'll be coming there this July. But I heard Lofoten is overcrowded at this time of year. Whats your experience, were the hiking trails as overcrowded as others say? Judging from your video it doesnt look overcrowded at all.
Thank you! And in my experience while I was there there were the popular trails that were busy, but for the less popular trails I only saw very few people the entire day. Some of the more popular trails were Reinebringen, Ryten, Horseid beach and Kvalvika beach. Happy hiking in Lofoten! I hope the weather holds up on your trip :)
Heyy Lyubo!! I'm going to travel to Lofoten from the Netherlands in October do you have any tips on what food to bring? What did you eat with the glass pot? The hiking trails look amazing and I love the video gives me so much inspiration for my trip in October!!
Thank you, I am glad the video was inspiring! I had a plastic container that I used for cold soaking, I don't know if I am the right person to ask for recipes as I am ok with pretty simple foods :) I would usually eat oats/musli with nuts, protein powder, coconut flakes, raisins, sugar for breakfast, then as snacks during the day I would have nuts with raisins/cranberries and bars like cliff bar or similar or dark chocolate, and then for dinners I would typically have soaked couscous or instant noodles with TVP (granulated soy), peanuts, coconut flakes, and spices, sometimes with some sauce. I hope you have a great time out there and I hope the weather holds up! But also be prepared for having wet feet :) Cheers!
@@luboyanev This will help alot! Simple foods is indeed the best way to go! ^~^ I will go prepared for the weather changes! Thanks alot and keep up the video's! ^~^
Hey, yes there is, but there is a section where the trail is a bit harder to follow. It goes from Munkenby towards west for about 1km and then north, on this section there is a regular trail towards Lofoten's tallest peak, but then it splits between the lakes Krokvatnet and Tennesvatnet and drops down to Forsfjorden. Then I'd recommend checking out the ferry if you can catch it right down there when you drop to the water. In my case I walked further to get the ferry from Vindstad. Allow for it to take little longer than usual walking on that trail as there was some rock hoping and trail finding (especially for me in the rainy weather). I'd recommend getting the gpx track for the entire trail (the long crossing of Lofoten) and that should make it easier to follow. Best of luck!
Thank you! I started the hike around July 20th, still had the midnight sun at that time.. would definitely recommend bringing an eye-mask if planning on camping outside :)
Hey, no these were not the Munkenbu cabins, I passed by them earlier that day and they were open, but I think one has to make reservations in advance. The cabins are 7:20 were locked and are next to the Krokvatnet lake (67°55'51.7"N 12°58'23.6"E 67.931037, 12.973220)
Благодаря за коментара, мислил съм да правя видео където обяснявам какво използвам, даже имам заснето такова видео, но не съм го обработвал.. Сега в свободното време работя върху едно видео от друг поход, може би до един месец ще го кача :) Весело лято!
As Reinhard Messner famously said when asked why he didn’t wave the Italian flag on an 8000 meter peak- “ I did it for myself, not for Italy” I don’t really see the point of all the wave flagging anywhere, aren’t we all just humans after all?
Thank you for the comment, and I understand what you mean, but so far I have never carried a flag with me on any of the hikes. Maybe if I went on an extreme expedition where no one has ever been there before it might be more appropriate, but these hikes that I have been on are quite popular and I wouldn't think would be necessary.. But to each their own.. Happy hiking!
The view is beautiful, but unfortunately the narrator is too noisy, I recommend a quiet hike, people prefer to immerse themselves in nature rather than listen to people making noise.
Hey, sorry for your experience.. most of my hiking videos have narration to help with the story telling. Maybe in the future I could do silent films, and that would definitely speed up my editing process, but so far I enjoy putting in more work and adding narration..

@@luboyanev Thank you, appreciate it.

@@Jeroen_vg97 Hehe, I am glad it was helpful! Enjoy your time on Lofoten, it's an incredible place!
Thank you for your true shared experiences and the beautiful views in your video.
Which time of the year you been on Lofoten Island?
Happy Hiking
Is there a real way from munkebu top to the ferry? Can you explain where did you go?
@@luboyanev thank you!!! 🙏
@@mahax8883 You're welcome!
What time of year was this? Looks great!
Thank you! I started the hike around July 20th, still had the midnight sun at that time.. would definitely recommend bringing an eye-mask if planning on camping outside :)
Is the cabin in 7:20 Munkebu?
Hey, no these were not the Munkenbu cabins, I passed by them earlier that day and they were open, but I think one has to make reservations in advance. The cabins are 7:20 were locked and are next to the Krokvatnet lake (67°55'51.7"N 12°58'23.6"E

Come on algorithm, do your job!
Hehe he might need the encouragement :) Cheers!

Norway! 🇳🇴😍
Кой да подозира магнитута на гледките ... Ще ми се един ден да посетя Норвегия ....
Наистина уникално място е, заслужава си да се посети, но може би с каравана би било по ползотворно :)
ok
Norway is definitely high on the ok list :)
Great video but I’m really disappointed, you didn’t show a Bulgarian flag at any point. 😢
