My dude is so courageous for leaving this video up, allowing us all to see him fumbling around in the dark with a backpack full of the world's brightest night lights. A lesser man might try to hide his shame at completely missing a basic game mechanic, but QuinBoBin is a man among men, who wants us all to know that it is okay to make mistakes and look very, very stupid from time to time. What a legend
I learned a really good tip for the Depths recently. Keep the overworld map up. If you see a rise in terrain in the overworld, you're going down in the Depths. Valleys in the overworld are mountains in the Depths. Rivers and lakes are impassable walls. Usually.
As someone who explores the depths more than the story and surface map , I have a tip Farosh (the yellow dragon) will enter the depths by the lake bridge around morning and midday and you can sit on the back of his neck ( cling to the back of his neck whilst he descends till he straightens out. He is a slow but very safe and light emitting taxi through the depths in a particular path going from lake hylia to gerudo highlands I think. He floats by several lightroots , some of which you can grab and then return to him if you act quickly. You can run up and down his back and collect loose spikes without his electricity orbs hitting you and even if they do unless your super low on hearts won't feel like more than a tickle especially with how many hearts you have now. I 10/10 recommend taking a dragon taxi to hell.
I actually love that you think chasing after the sages to use their ability is a good thing. Your unique perspective and general positivity is one of the reasons you’re my favorite UA-camr right now.
yep def agree, especially since i found this channel right after watching a bunch of critiques of the game, and people just hating on it, its nice to see someone who got the same amount of joy from this experience as me
Small tidbit about the Depths that I don't believe the game ever explains to you: if you break a weapon, then the "purified" version of that weapon (non-decayed) will begin spawning with those little soldier ghouls. This only happens if the weapon isn't fused to anything, which may be a problem for others, but luckily Quin doesn't actually use the Fuse mechanic so he'll have plenty to play with in the darkness.
You don’t understand how hard it is for me to avoid my favorite UA-camr playing my favorite game series because I’m doing my own playthrough still and don’t want to be spoiled 😭 can’t wait to binge these one day, thanks as always for what I can only imagine is great content!
Since you asked for Depths opinions: I’m a scaredy-cat (the void called and it said RUN) so for the longest time I could only make a terrified beeline from one light root to the next, but also it’s very exciting! There are some fun secrets out and about down there that make it worth braving the enemies for me. Which makes me better at taking them on! Fun fact about the shiny pristine weapons the soldier ghosts offer: shiny versions will only appear in the Depths after you’ve broken a decayed one you got from your surface shenanigans. This also applies to region-specific weapons, like a Gerudo scimitar, the main difference being that you only have a chance of finding them in the Depths areas beneath their corresponding region. Great video, keep up the good work! They’re always a highlight to my day!

Here's a few tips on exploring the depths: - Use the brightblooms seeds. You don't even need arrows, just THROW THEM. Your comment section is about to pray Hylia to smite you down after this video. - The Depths' map is almost a perfect mirror of the surface's map. *In today’s episode of Tears of the Kingdom…* The Depths of the void beckon to Quin, and he’s decided that he will answer. To be courageous is to be informed, to know what there is to be afraid of, and so Quin first meets with Josha (the head of Depths research) to learn everything important. Unfortunately, he seems to know more than the small Sheikah girl, so his information will be coming from the Voices inside his head… Fumbling through the dark comes with its cost. The Depths are the abode of monsters, human and otherwise, though the scariest trait the void shares has to be the unknown. What is lurking just beyond those shadows, and why is there no way to figure it out? The Voices scream in unison that brightbloom seeds are abundant in caves; that they needn’t be attached to arrows, only thrown with enough force; but Our collective noise only triggers Quin’s sense of spite. In pure darkness & guided only by starlight, QuinBoBin battles beasts the Surface has never seen and dies countless deaths succumbing to either gloom or starvation, but as he ascends to the surface he can’t help but conclude… the Underworld is a pretty fucking cool area. _(There’s peacock trees! So I thought I finished mapping them yesterday and was disappointed by the lack of acknowledgement. But this just taught me that apparently I somehow missed an area. Oof
tips for the depths : 1. shrines are connected to the lightroots so if you go to the shrine icon then look at the depths map there should be a lightroot 2 . walls with the teeth you cant climb or get through them so i hope this helps with your exploring in the depth
Pro tip Quin, the depths map is just the surface but inverted(big mountain become big pit) and so if you look at the surface map you can see what the terrain is like.
The depths. I'm watching like 4 different playthroughs at once, and barely any time is spent in the depths, which is some of the most interesting exploration possible in this game. I am so hyped for depths. Now, steps need to be taken to explore, as you can't see where you're going. But brightblooms or other forms of illumination (no spoilers) are useful for that. Once you get exploring, you're going to find some nice things. And some horrifying things. Looking forward to it! Okay let's watch the video.
Watching this cause I love the depths and randomly wanted to see other people's thoughts on it. But I haven't played a lot of the game myself so I haven't explored much really. ... *gets to **1:28* *sees that thing* Excuse me?! (Quin) 1:33 Excuse me? (Me) ... Glad to know i'm not alone in that thought.
Quin, please, there's 1 piece of armor you are gonna LOVE!!! To get it, go back to the guys you met at the cave with the 1000 chests (where you got the fierce deity sword). They share 3 more Misko riddles with you! ONE is at a place you were before, knew there was a puzzle but you didn't know what it was. Trust me! You're gonna love it to bits!!!
Quin, try using your armors more. The miner’s gear is very useful in the depth if you find the full set & the fierce deity armor can destroy enemies. Also, you can scout out undercover yiga clan if you wear their full armor.
Good job acquiring the forbidden meatball! I'm sure you know by now, you could make some potions that make Link glow (faintly) but I also know it's fun to just run around without seeing all that well! Ahahaha The spear throw was satisfying. I really like the depths. Glad you enjoyed exploring and slapping creatures! Also I'm sure you know, but just in case, you can craft some potions to make Link glow. (The star fragment rod is a good idea!)
The Depths did not have to be as big as it is if all we were going to get is copying and pasting assets on mass. The parts of the Depths I like the most are the sections that are narrow and closed off, making what comes next all that much more intense. Like the section under the isles at Lanayru Sea. I found that portion of the Depths oddly satisfying. Edit: This is not to say that I do not like the grand size of the Depths and that they should have broken their backs making it hyper detailed. I just think that with how everything from BotW was copied and pasted in Tears of the Kingdom, alongside the new Zonai assets, I felt that they had the time and definitely the resources to make the Depths more interesting. By far, the Depths is my favorite map, as it held the most potential. The surface, like Breath of the Wild, is just...empty. One Sky Island is no more exciting than the others.
small tip but u can repair weapons by throwing them at rock octorocks just like cleaning rusty weapons in botw! it will change the ability tho, like if its durability up, it might change it to attack up. its cool for weapons that are rarer that u dont want to go away. also, as u obtain and break more decayed weapons, they will pop up in the depths as pristine weapons with those weird guard dudes!!
Yo! It’s my first time to see one of your videos in your first 10 minutes of uploading! I love your channel so plz continue making these great videos Btw when you said that the marbled gohma’s rocks can’t be recalled, you have to first launch it back to him and stop recall in order for it to deal damage
Quin running around blindly in the depths is giving me flashbacks to my own experiences running around the depths with no brightblooms in the early game and I look back on that time like 'How did I survive?' At least I eventually got the miner's clothes but my lord. I have no idea how I figured out where I was going.
If you want to beat the frox without arrows use dazzle fruit, stuns it for a while. Also throw bombs in its mouth when it opens up to stun it as well. And for good measure of it bucks you off paraglide and stay in the air for a few seconds. It will open its mouth trying to eat you but you can shoot a bomb into it and stun it again
Quin I’m so glad you’re getting the recognition you deserve. You are my favorite UA-camr. You are the only one who just brings joy and humor consistently. Don’t ever change!!
7:28 Place the fans on the front and back of the steering wheel at an angle instead of the sides, that way you can go forwards 8:26 Yeah, it's called throwing brightbloom seeds everywhere Quin...why are you not using Keese eyes on your arrows?
Didn’t know if you knew this but you can throw objects by aiming your weapon, pressing the ^ on the d pad, and selecting an item. It is an alternative to using arrows and you can throw bombs into the frox’s moith that way.
Just a tip: shrines in the overworld match up with lightroots in the depths. Also when there is a river in the overworld, there is a wall connecting to the top of the depths (so you can climb over it)
Haven't ventured into the depths much yet. I plan to now you've inspired me. Was a little bit intimidated before but now i reckon it'll be fun! Thanks Quin as always for your time and efforts making these videos we all love to watch ❤
Quin every hill and mountain on the surface will result in a hole/pit in the depths and every time there is a lake or pond there is a wall you can not climb over and you are forced to go around.
I personally love the depths, not sure why but the constant of running around in the dark, hitting my face on something and going "oh theres a wall there" brings me joy.
I absolutelly adore the Dephts- I mean- it's a whole new world to explore with so many unique features! I haven't mapped it all already though. I specially like the fact, as you stated this episode, that you can fight dungeon bosses again, ehich was a problem I had with botw because it was just a 1 time opportunity. I've watched every episode of this series and I am looking forward for more! Thank you :)
I’ve been waiting for a depths episode!!! This makes me so happy. I love the depths and have spent most of my time exploring them. I only only 15 more light roots!
Arrows are so easy to get in this game since there're no elemental arrows, so it always astonishes me how Quin manages to have 5 arrows every single episode. Also he definitely has not realised one does not need arrows to use brightbloom seeds. Endearing, but an absolute menace to society.
I love the depths. It is basically a second hyrule that has so much to explore. Plus it brings so much items that players could enjoy. I especially love how the depths has so much things to learn like how underneath most stables there is a lynel, how water on the surface is usually a giant wall, and how wherever things elevate on the surface, is just a deep area in the depths. (For example: death mountain goes high up, but is a deep area in the depths. Works the same in reverse where a canyon might be a high area in the depths.)
Quin, you need to keep like, 200+ arrows on you at all times, they’re so useful. Especially in the depths, where you can attach bright bloom seeds to them
Agreed with above, but also Arrow conservation: Toss brightbloom regular seeds on walls, especially those you intend to climb up, before you climb. Use arrows to hit even higher if the cliff is that high, so you can judge how high up the cliff is before you start burning stamina, instead of say, building a hot air balloon. Don't shoot seeds if you can toss them, to save on arrows. Arrow finding: Every wooden crate is arrows, pretty much, sometimes five of them at once, sometimes one or none, but break every crate, and always buy 20 rupee bundles of 5 arrows apiece at shops. I don't buy them at 30 rupees for a bundle, though. Plenty of shops sell em for 20. Arrow damage: Shooting an enemy with lots of arrows wears down your bows and uses more arrows. But you weren't ever going to use those hinox toenails or gibdo bones for anything else anyway, put em on an arrow. Also, make sure you have loads of ice chu jelly or ice fruit or other ways of shooting ice arrows. Most enemies freeze, and the ones that don't, you have riju to summon a lightning strike on for stunning and big damage without an arrow attachment. Use melee weapons whenever you stun or freeze an enemy, or flurry rush them, so you can save your bows and arrows for stunning and freezing and summoning lightning and setting things on fire at a distance and blowing them up. Bows can deal good damage but it's really the severe tactical advantage they give you once you debilitate your enemy with fancy arrows that allows you to get in the really good hits in melee. Which allows you to preserve your bow for enemies you mainly damage with bows to begin with, like gleeoks.
Tips about the Depths: Bodies of Water usually mean endless walls in the depths. Stables usually have a Lynel in the Depths directly underneath it Under Typhlo Ruins there’s a King Gleeok guarding the Cap of Twilight Shrines normally mark where a Lightroot is in the Depths
Quin, This is very important for expropriation in the depths : wherever there is a shrine on the surface there is a lightroot directly underneath. The terrain in the depths is the surface terrain INVERTED so wherever there is a high mountain on the surface there is a deep pit in the depths, also wherever there is water on the surface there is an unscalable wall in the depths! Hope this helps quin!
I wanted a Depths episode and you gave us a Depths episode and it did not disappoint! You should keep experimenting with flying vehicles, makes exploring the Depths a little easier if you can find the parts. this was my favorite area to explore for sure, totally alien and uninviting and figuring out how to find the lightroots was fun once you can fly
Good tip for navigation in the depths is that it's basically just hyrule turned upside down. The topography is inverted (i.e. mountains and turned into pits and vice-versa), and each lightroot is exactly underneath a shrine. They even have the same names, just backwards. So if you're lost in the depths, check the aboveground map for reference points. The stamps are limited to a single map level, but beacons are always visible no matter the altitude.
When you’re doing the marbled, Goma fight when you send the rocks back to him you’re meant to unfreeze time when it’s above him then it will drop down and explode in her Tim
Quin not using the brightbloom seeds to light up the depths the whole time is the greatest test of patience for the comments

Quin says the depths are scary but we all know he is the most terrifying being in Hyrule by far
As someone who explores the depths more than the story and surface map , I have a tip

Watching this cause I love the depths and randomly wanted to see other people's thoughts on it. But I haven't played a lot of the game myself so I haven't explored much really. ... *gets to **1:28* *sees that thing* Excuse me?! (Quin) 1:33 Excuse me? (Me) ... Glad to know i'm not alone in that thought.
i’ve beat the game and explored quite a lot, there are so many things i’m so excited for you to see and find!
6:40 OK NOW he figures it out and immediately forgets
I live for these videos 🙌🙌🙌 Quinn your the best!!!
I swear ive never seen a UA-camr thats this entertaining and this involved with fans at the same time.
19:57 you know he paused on purpose to make the funny joke and it was hilarious
When he says everybody always gets me mega hyped
Yo! It’s my first time to see one of your videos in your first 10 minutes of uploading! I love your channel so plz continue making these great videos
Btw when you said that the marbled gohma’s rocks can’t be recalled, you have to first launch it back to him and stop recall in order for it to deal damage
Quin running around blindly in the depths is giving me flashbacks to my own experiences running around the depths with no brightblooms in the early game and I look back on that time like 'How did I survive?' At least I eventually got the miner's clothes but my lord. I have no idea how I figured out where I was going.
Quin is the best Zelda youtuber EVER
I got the notification for this video and my day immediately got better, thank you big man
If you want to beat the frox without arrows use dazzle fruit, stuns it for a while.
When Quin uploads and immediately the 8 billion people on planet Earth get on UA-cam
fun fact: under every mountain there is a mine in the depths
7:28 Place the fans on the front and back of the steering wheel at an angle instead of the sides, that way you can go forwards
8:26 Yeah, it's called throwing brightbloom seeds everywhere
Quin...why are you not using Keese eyes on your arrows?
1:20 TALK TO ROBBIE!!! TALK TO ROBBIE!!!!!!
man i love these videos
What a great playthrough! Definitely has me more curious to explore the Depths - I've been avoiding them for a long time. Thanks for the great video!
Watching Quin struggle while still have a good time makes my whole day
I love to see that you aren't rushing content like last time. Thank you
Really hot take that is more controversial than the Supreme Court rulings: I almost like botw more than totk and I don’t know why. Also great video
*me watching very late wondering if quin was aware of lightroots matching shrine locations*
My question was answered, thank you Quin
I’ve been waiting for a depths episode!!! This makes me so happy. I love the depths and have spent most of my time exploring them. I only only 15 more light roots!
Arrows are so easy to get in this game since there're no elemental arrows, so it always astonishes me how Quin manages to have 5 arrows every single episode. Also he definitely has not realised one does not need arrows to use brightbloom seeds.
Endearing, but an absolute menace to society.
Quin, attach a gaint brightbloom to a zonai device. It will light the depths up in your area.
It’s ok Quin, we all got lost down there
Love yet again qinn distracted every second he sees something new
YES HE FINALLY UPLOADED IVE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY 🎉
I love the depths.
Especially in the depths, where you can attach bright bloom seeds to them
Agreed with above, but also
Arrow conservation: Toss brightbloom regular seeds on walls, especially those you intend to climb up, before you climb.
15:05 Quin Forgets He Has Attack Up Clothes: Part 1
Tips about the Depths: Bodies of Water usually mean endless walls in the depths.
Stables usually have a Lynel in the Depths directly underneath it
Under Typhlo Ruins there’s a King Gleeok guarding the Cap of Twilight
Shrines normally mark where a Lightroot is in the Depths
Definitely my favorite video by far!!keep it up👍👍
Always a good day when Quin uploads
The depths is a 10/10 area, I've explored the entire thing and gotten all of the light-roots. These videos are great
I love your videos they make me laugh so much and you are the best thank you and keep up the good work
Good tip for navigation in the depths is that it's basically just hyrule turned upside down.
Love that you're getting all the old binkus armours, your boy is going to look so fashion in his greenery!
