I am so glad that I found your channel! I live in a small town where Pilates is unavailable by an instructor via the gym. I decided to try this method of exercise because I realize that a lot of the areas of my body are weak and need to be strengthened. I also suffer from sciatica. My goal is to keep pressing until I see results. Thanks again!

I’m so glad you are here! One of my goals is to help make Pilates accessible for people, especially for those who don’t have access to someone in person, like you mentioned. I’m glad the workouts are such a good fit for you! Thanks so much for your kind comment 🙏❤️

Hi Cailin! Love the series. I have done many sports in my life and getting the basics of every sport is so important! I am looking forward to doing your other series after completing this one.
I was wondering if you could explain the neutral spine more. I have always been told that the lower back should always stay in full contact with the floor when doing exercises, so hearing that in pilates neutral spine position is preferred is new to me. Is there any higher risk of injury? Are the targeted muscles different than if my pelvis was tilted towards me? (spilling the coffee cup onto the belly). I feel that usually, I have an anterior pelvic tilt so I fear it might put me at higher risk of injury.

Hey Lindsey! If you're experiencing back pain during the exercises, then sometimes it means you are not engaging your core properly and still need to build up core strength. Back pain may occur when first starting pilates until your core gets stronger. Try keeping your head and chest down (instead of lifting up during the ab exercises), and be sure not to lower the legs down too far when extending the legs out or dropping them down. Hope that helps! Keep up your consistency with the videos and hopefully the pain will ease.
