makes me really want to play through the original Mysts and Riven again. What a great time in history. Surprised we really don't get more puzzle games in modern times. Like somehow people are not as smart as they used to be or something
@@slbagwell I remembered something, watching popular people like Markiplier. A simple sliding puzzle that can be beaten in like 8 moves has him stumped for hours as he then calls puzzles impossible. With the kinds of puzzles we used to have to solve growing up, they used to be so complicated I really don't think most will get it done today and I would honestly blame the internets easy access to walkthroughs telling people how to beat them. The best way really to play a puzzle game first time is with no help cept for hand written notes. People seem to just not want to think anymore and just be told how to play. I guess there is a reason we have a "do not drink" label on bottles of poison.
With the soundtrack for Firmament releasing on vinyl in September, I am hopeful that we'll see a revised soundtrack for Riven with the new music. I love the new Robyn Miller compositions but am less enthused by the characters being animated rather than actors and actresses. The originals made the experience so much more personal. I am taking my time viewing your walkthroughs, but am sincerely enjoying each new exploration. Interestingly ... I recently returned to a favorite series Fringe, and realized that Anna Torv (also appearing in Mindhunter on Netflix) sounds just like you. I kept expecting her to break from the script and begin a walkthrough dialogue. Now that would have been strange ... but the stranger the better. Just thought you'd appreciate the comparison to another cool person. Keep on adventuring and I'll be back for more. Have a wonderful evening. Cheers.
Completely possible. Many of the number puzzles are randomly generated so that each play through gets different numbers. I like that. It makes the player have to understand the puzzle and actually solve it :)
Love your playthrough. I saw this other guy do a complete playthrogh already, but he was a bit fast......plus he had himself up covering part of the screen.

I agree. I've wondered why we don't get more puzzle games like this. I guess people like the FPS better or something.

I'm not sure what you're saying... what happened? Maybe I can help you figure it out... though it sounds like I must not have figured it out.

@michaelmessina2112 thanks for your kind words. I'm so glad you are enjoying my playthrough.
I had to flip the lens panel 180 before it would let me link
Hm, is it possible that the numbers changes in different games? Because mine markings are not the same as yours 🤔

Would they coenside with with the order you incountered them from the beginning ?
You mean the order of the animals.... nope they coincide with the machines beside them.
Love your playthrough.
