I love her technique. She's definitely a very educated singer.
Most singers sounds shrill and pitchy or hurts ears when they belt/sustained high notes.. But this Lara.. it's just so powerful and resonance..that when she belt a5, g5 or bb5 in her mixed voice or chest, it doesnt sound pitchy at all..
I'm always shocked by the fact her G and G# sound talked almost! I see some people claim shes hitting it with so much mix it looses power but it 100% doesn't We are just used to hearing squeezed , pinched and shrill upper belts . I know she also gets alot of *shes a knockoff Celine* Sure i see similarities in tone but Celines mix is very heady past G , and she has a harder time supporting/more rasp. I think Lara's main problem is some find her boring.
Amazing techniques. Definitely one of the most powerful F5's I've ever heard.
I always love her since when she cames to Brazil. Many brazilian peoples here love her!

I love the texture of her voice. And the mix when she hits the high notes, so interesting and yet soo pleasing!!! I love her voice so much.
I never knew Lara Fabian was quite THIS good! All I knew of her was "I Will Love Again" which doesn't show off her awesome range and power. Great video!

LOL, you beat me to it. I was going to make this. But you did a better job than I would have, so that's a good thing lol. Lots of amazing notes that I've never seen before...now I know that the ones I've been using in my videos aren't even her best. ;)
BTW, I heard that she actually vocalized up to G6 in some rare 1999 interview when asked about her coloratura skills. I hope someone has it and uploads.

Filip Predic definitely. I'd say Mariah does have a more connected lower register but overall this woman has a much better technique
And especially maria carrey has a lighter thinner voice more agility than lara fabian who sings a lot in mixed voices; Because its natural timbre is dark! ! Maria is ++ cr the stamp is clear and bright; Lara is dark and a bit heavy when she sings in chest voice

Glad you used some clips from the last two weeks.. a lot actually for the current tour. BTW in the humana performance you got the G#5 from, I think there was a higher belt, just after the one part you posted. LOVED amazing grace, who else can a suatained an E5 with "ee" sound for those seonds and then build up to an F#5 with zero strain? I'm looking forward to a perf of "una femme avec toi", on record she beyond KILLED IT!

@roizvirtual She actually resonates in the head, not mixes, so she's still in the full chest voice, and even if she would mix, it doesn't mean anything.

I looooooooveeee Demain N'Existe Pas. It's a perfect song for lara. The previous mini tour earlier this year had a fantastic repertoir, bewitched bothered.., alfie, WBMW, alfonsina y el mar, grande grande grande.. it was fantastic. I wish she's do a complete tour with Mario F, since their voices blend perfectly together, and So In Love is one of my all time fave songs.

Haha, she does have crazy pipes! I don't even think this video (and every other video in this "vocal range" format) does her full justice, because it just shows each high note without much context. To really get to know her as a singer all around, I recommend you watch my most recent video about her: "Lara Fabian's Vocal Moments 2". Don't bother with part 1 unless you are a big fan, because it wastes more time in less interesting stuff that only fans like to see (how songs make her cry, how nice she is to her co-performers, her musical references, blablabla).

Lizibeth Jansen It's not even just about her range or stamina. Her tone is quite unique and her songs really only suit her, no one else (personal opinion, obviously). A lot of covers might nail every single note, but still sound terribly off, more so than with many other female singers' songs. You'll enjoy that other video, it's pretty much all about the vocals.

I don't know if I can count those comic sketches as vocal range, just as I don't count Celine's whistles because they were comical too... I would put her live range at Eb3-A5-D6. Celine's is Bb2-B5/C6-Eb6/E6.
If we count those on both, then their vocal ranges would be:
Lara: Eb3-A5-D6-G#6
Celine: Bb2-C6-E6-Eb7
considering SUNG notes that are even remotely projected?
Lara: F3-A5-D6
Celine: C#3-B5-C#6
Lows below that are PURE air and i also do not consider much of celines C6s as mixed. "Head voice" above that is also pure exclamation.

Both have a high substain note at the end and a long note after that. Je suis maLA (G5) and deeeee(long note) lol
I know Mariah is talented, I love her, I have her first 3 cd and has a powerful voice back then. But I'm sick of the lambs! No she's not the best and other can sing better!

True, though according to my Voice teacher (who, IMO, was a frakking GENIUS) women speak in their "chest voice", so anything much above the pitch of natural speech is likely the "head voice". ;o)
Gods, I miss studying under my former teacher! he never did get the admiration from the rest of the faculty that he deserved--they treated him like an outcast (they're very clique) because he wasn't a Jazz performer like they, and he had his Master's in Voice (they did not)!

While I adore Lara, and wish more of her music were available in the US, I think you have mis-labeled the female "head voice" by placing it quite a bit too high: women only have *two* "voices": a chest-voice and a head-voice. Men, OTOH, have 4: Gutteral(sp?), Chest, Head, Falsetto.

@@wisdomelves5838 not in lows, head voice, or melisma. The only thing she has on Celine, is upper mixed range. In her prime Celine consistently supported to E3/F3 vs A3/Bb3 or so for Lara, Celine had consistent Eb5/E5 in her prime while Lara had ~F#5, and Celine easily had B5 in head voice while Lara had G5 maybe.

Mon com' précédent a peut-être " un peu " dépassé le fond de ma pensée...
Avec le recul ( car mon dernier com' a plus de 11ans gg le déterrage ^^ ) je ne dirais pas qu'elle est mauvaise sur le plan technique mais juste sur-côté ( il suffit de voir les autres com' de la vidéo , à les lire on pourrait croire que Jésus s'est mis au chant lol mais il est vrai qu'en suivant cette logique je devrais " taper " sur beaucoup de monde avant elle )
Elle est très loin d'être la seule à pouvoir chanter sur plusieurs octaves ( ça court pas les rues ok mais c'est pas si rare , surtout chez les chanteuses classiques )
ça + le fait que c'est juste pas ma came en fait et qu'un artiste ne se résume pas à sa simple voix sinon il y a beaucoup d'artistes que je devrais arrêter d'écouter.
Donc mea culpa à tout les fans de Lara Fabian que j'ai pu blesser par mon manque de nuances ^^

I disagree. Just compare her sound with Celine Dion's and you'll see they're two worlds apart in terms of nasality or twang. Anyway, nasality isn't really a technical defect, it's mostly a matter of style.
Lara is not nasaly !!! Ridiculous to say that lara is nasaly ;;;; ^^^ !!! Looool celine is nasal !!! BUT lara uses a lot the voice mix with many voices of head !!!! The sound is a little deafer than that of celine which is more powerful (for me) !!! If not wanting to compare ;;; In 2017 !! CELINE DION PURPLE RAIN C6 + D6 + EB6 .... (LARA CAN t do it in the mix)
