One of the best leftbacks of all time
And right back
The best ❤
One of the most underrated defenders of the premier league era people talk about Arnold and Ashley cole they couldn’t lace his boots
I think Roy Keane will soon subscribe to your channel given how incredible this video of Dennis Irwin is!
Thank you for your beautiful comment, sometimes I wonder if some footballers watch my videos about them
Hahaha
Oh roy watched this you can be sure!
whos dennis irwin
Roy would slap you down and stamp on your balls for that comment@@NonePlayableCharacter
No weak foot... Worldclass🙌 ❤
Consistency, the hardest skill in any sport.
He did everything evra did plus he had two feet and if Beckham wasn't available to take the free kick, no problem, if you were in a penalty shootout, no problem. He was a can do everything kind of player.
Mr irwin and evra shouldn't be in the same sentence tbh
Me and Roy Keane both agree with you. 💯💯💯💯
In the days of 3 subs and smaller squads his two footedness and versatility made him even more valuable. Ialso thought he should have taken the ball off Beckham more for free kicks
Absolutely fantastic LB. One of the top LB's of the 90s.
What a player always there when we needed him just amazing
cmon thats his job
No one asked I for ur opinion

Without doubt a player I was gutted to see retire. Absolute quality - AFC fan.
Bravo! Great great video!!
Dennis Irwin, what a player!
Thank you!
One of my favorite player in Man United when I was kids.
Thanks for post the video!
What a talented fullback he was
Because you never heard from him off field he doesn’t get spoken about much but Denis was such a great player. Could just switch from right to left back as if it made no difference at all. Look at some of those crosses and finishes with his left foot. Would be in my all time PL XI at either right or left back. Wish Utd had him today.
one of the legend I do remember him
It’s crazy to me that people think Ashley Cole was a better full back than Dennis Irwin. There was absolutely nothing Cole could do that Irwin could not. Yet Irwin had so much that Cole couldn’t do, free kicks, great crosses, goals. Irwin was just better. Easily the best full back of the premier league era.
He really wasn't better than Cole though.
Irwin was more technical, Cole was more physical
@@leemc5646irwin was better defender
@@leemc5646😂😂😂
Check about the argument that Keane and Vieira have on this exact point in the 'Best of Enemies' documentary ITV did a few years ago - an impossible question to say who was better.
Best football channel ever, great job
Thank you!
The complete full back, he was world class under the radar brilliance. Up there with Cole, Cafu and Carlos. Good for a goal too, great striker of the ball.
Questo canale è di gran lunga il migliore nel suo genere.
Continua così!
Grazie mille!
Never rattled. Never intimidated.
He's some man for one man
What a player dependable, deadly Dennis was.
the most incredible thing to me is that his both foot can launch long pass, and right foot curve is good
he is main right foot, and left foot can do a long pass, and penalty area shooting too, very good on both legs,
if you put him in today's game, i think he still can perfrom very well, but i will definitely place him as RB
HE IS THE BEST FULL BACK OF ALL TIME.
Today he would worth 90mil easily
90 mil? do me a favour, left back right back both foot can tackle can pass can take mean free kick great room mate of Roy Keane, he would be worth like 2 billions
By far the best premier league full back. Didn't realise how much he scored.
Mr Reliable, Dennis certainly was that. Definitely have Dennis in my all time united starting eleven. No dramas no bullshit, probably one of fergie's best purchases.
What a footballer..incredible
Very under rated
what an extraordinary footballer.
Have him above Ashley as best left back in the premier league. So underrated. So versatile
Wow he was quality
and thats at full back❤
Apart from the mistimed tackle at 0:31 a great compilation!
what price would this guy be today? Simply the best...
Remember him coming on as a sub and just absolutely destroying the other team and thinking he looks like an ordinary guy down the pub.
Left foot and Right foot...there's absolutely no difference...thats incredible.
Christ what a player denis irwin the irish cafu
Greatest Manchester United & Irish LB ever. No debatable.
He perhabs seems to be one of the best leftbacks ever? What was He NOT able to do 😅?!
@@Lebowski92 The most underrated for sure. He's right up there in terms of best ever LB but hardly mentioned on that level.
@@mojebi3804 That's what I mean. I've heard about his name only once from a Roy Keane video 😅. But he seems like a perfect fullback! Not only the skills but also bis aura and mentality.
@@Lebowski92 and he was Uniteds left back throughout their success in the 90s including the treble winning side. The guy performed at the very top
The best. Nuf said.
Definitely putting him in my all time xi.
The greatest leftback of all time. He had everything and more.

What i wouldnt give to see Denis Irwin on left back at United again. He could do it all. over lap, under lap, cross the ball, shoot, use both legs, tackle. And he was almost never injured. Not like the current united defenders.
0:53 So clean.
Please,next video about Hakan Sukur!!!
Great video and music! Next one Gianluigi Lentini, Walter Casagrande, Edmundo o’animal, patrick Kluivert, Alberto Gilardino, Antonio Cassano
Lentini was such an amazing player before that car accident
I recall the money Milan spent to buy him,at that time it was so huge that everybody lost their minds and began asking where did Milan get so much money to buy him
Grazie Marco!
Won Cup Winners Cup v Barca at Right Back, won Champions League v Bayern at Left Back.
Yeah funny that the 1999 CL final was also in Barcelona.
And the 1991 CWC final vs Barcelona was in Rotterdam in the the same stadium Irwin nearly had his leg broken by Bosvelt in Nov97 ChampionsLeague vs Feyenoord (Bosvelt instead of receiving a deserved 2nd yellow was already going to be subbed off so escaped a red fpr a straight red foul) which made it a bitter-sweet night due to that because the game in itself had gone well but his injury actually contributed to ManUtd not winning the 97/98 title he missed a massive Arsenal game a few days later lost 3-2 then lost the title by 1 point and gave ManUtd the harder 98/99 CL group but ManUtd still did well in it while Arsenal failed in their easier one and Irwin's matches during his ManUtd career vs Barcelona and visits to the NouCamp were also bitter-sweet with many highs & lows, lows like 1994/95 group stage exit including a 4-0 defeat away to Barca, highs like 90/91 & 98/99 played Barca twice in group stage both 3-3 draws got through Barca didn't and then ManUtd won the whole thing in Barca's ground vs Bayern but BallonDor winner was still a Barca player that year and also but for Barca, ManUtd could've said they beat every single team they played that treble winning season at least once in at least 1 competition and should've beaten Barca at least once led both games & many times but didn't lose to them and they were draws that may as well have been wins as ManUtd progressed & Barca didn't.
Please do the video about Paul Ince
Also please do.a video of Stan Collymore and FOREVER our captain, T.Adams
In the future
Roberto Carlos had Denis Irwin's poster on his wall
If he was primarily right footed (though clearly quite two footed), why wasn’t he played at right back?
With eleven Irwin you can took tremble and with out coach on the bench
damn, roy keane wasn't kidding
Here after the Overlap, Manchester Derby XI.
Best'❤️👑
I have signed shirt by him
forget the footage, serious tune selection.
I have to wonder what money Denis Irwin would be worth today
I was a talented left back in my day and Irwin was the pro I wanted to emulate. Pure class.

I remember that block by Irwin against West Ham as a West Ham fan at the time we were certain Bishop had scored. For me there's no question who the best left back in Premier league history is. Irwin had the full package unlike Evra or Ashley Cole. Roberto Carlos is more celebrated today because of his spectacular goals but there's no question who I'd rather have. People forget how many defensive mistakes Roberto Carlos made. Irwin is my kind of player because he treated football as a job. He was unassuming and wasn't flash; he just turned up to do his job and he did it very well.
Fifa 98 soundtrack
Dink it like Dennis
Didn’t this guy get smoked by Barca? Makes you wonder how good the premier league really was in the 90s.
No he didn't. He had one of the most successful careers that includes winning the champions League. Shows your little knowledge

I'm a Juventus supporter, but expecially i'm a football lover..
Imagine a football match of top 11 of Manchester United against a top 11 of Juventus what match it would be..
. Buffon
Thuram F.Cannavaro Chiellini Zambrotta
. Marchisio M.Platini E.Davids
. Zidane
. Trezeguet Del Piero
What team would win in a single match?
@@lulygrem9357 well i just put players i saw, i never see Bobby Charlton or Dennis Law for example.
A Juve team with players a see...
GK Buffon
RD Thuram
LD Zambrotta
CB Cannavaro
CB Chiellini
CMF Paulo Sousa
CMF Deschamps
CMF Davids
FWR Del Piero
FWR Vieri
FWR Roberto Baggio
4-3-3 i prefer a consistent midfield then Zidane against Manchester United. Del Piero and Roberto Baggio can do what Zidane do (did). With will be a good match no doubt now the historic Juventus... i remenber in kid people talk about Zoff, Platini, Causio, Scirea, Tardelli, Bonnini because he was from San Marino, because of him i visit the country 😂 and the most famous Juventus player in Portugal was Boniek.
Boniek, Maradona and Elkajer Larssen, Rumennigue was the players i see al the time in newspaper or in televison. They were the favourit players from Serie A in Portugal but i was a kid and dint understand so much about football but i remenber the grow man talking all the time about them.
When i start watching football with eyes of a grow man, the dutch players of AC Milan and german players from Inter were the famous also the young lad from Fiorentina, Roberto Baggio.
Trappatoni was very famous, more famous then Arrigo Sachi
@@comunistanuncatemcomida i understand, very interesting 😉
This 4-3-3 has got a problem..
Del Piero and R.Baggio played both only 3 roles in their carriers: central attacking midfielder, second striker and left winger.. Del Piero never played right winger, R.Baggio niether.. so i would put Baggio as central attacking midfielder and Del Piero second striker on the left side..
In my opinion we can't remove Platini and Zidane from the top 11, they are the best players of Juventus ever, and also consider Trezeguet is the top scorer of Juventus ever after Del Piero and Boniperti with 171 goals in ten seasons..
I like the 4-3-3 too, so i've thought a possible team with 4-3-3
. Buffon
Thuram F.Cannavaro Chiellini Zambrotta
. Zidane Platini Davids
. M.Laudrup Trezeguet R.Baggio
I could put Boniek as right winger 😉
But I put Laudrup because he was more tecnical and more complete than Boniek.. Boniek was more explosive and faster but Laudrup had more vision of the game and he was a better dribbler and a better assist man..
I agree with you with the fact R.Baggio was a very great playmaker, he was a wonderful player but I excluded him in the first line up because in my opinion Zidane is the best CAM ever and for the agreement between Del Piero and Trezeguet

SAF favourite player and the most underrated player ever in history.
maldini and Carlos were the only full backs better at the time. no shame there.
I place him alongside the likes of Lilian Thuram.
An all time great who rarely gets a mention from the modern day pundits.

I had no idea how much id miss the days of Irwin and Giggs blazing the left wing, what a baller!
both feet....right back left back....no bother
5 Star Weak Foot
Championship player today like most older players
Do you mean English championship, not good enough for premier League?
All nice & easy in England for United players specially during the 90s Denis got roasted by Stoichkov & co shipping 4 goals in a total Barcelona demolition (Barca 4-0 Manchester United) 1994/95 champions league group stage match. I mean honestly Irwin looked soooo bad & outplayed by Stoichkov on the right wing. To rate a player you need to watch him outside his comfort zone, not just team achievement & counting trophies.
So Irwin had one bad game, in a match when his team's midfield were completely outplayed and the defence were swamped. Very selective. I've seen Stoitchkov play like shite on occassion too - the following season he scored a whopping 5 goals for Parma.
Irwin incidently was in the team that won the CL, and played in a world cup with Ireland (including keeping a clean sheet against Italy), so this comfort zone stuff is just uninformed bollocks.
Yeah as of others of said completely discounting all the great games he had against some of the best teams and players in Europe over a 10 year period and focussing on one game is very petty and seems to almost reek of some sort of personal bitterness. Strange comment.
How many bad games had maldini and Roberto Carlos have?? I say a lot now. In big games too..I bet.
That was back when you could only have 3 foreign players so ManUtd had a depleted team and GaryWalsh in goal.
@@FootkerSnookball so because of the keeper Irwin got roasted/exposed globally once outside of the UK when it’s a real true tough test & nothing to do with him showing his true overrated level? yeah I see the logic there👍I rest my case
