Hi Sandy totally agree egr valve is blocked with carbon and at that mileage I would be removing the inlet manifold and scraping that out and the cylinder head of all the carbon. Messy job but transforms the car again
I've started getting a problem on these cold mornings with my 2007 corolla verso 2.2 Diesel will start the first time without a problem and idle normally. After about one minute or so warning light will show up on the dash than fter another 30 seconds the engine cuts out. When the engine dies, I can restart again without a problem and the whole scenario starts over this happen until the engine warms up. once the temperature reaches 60 and the blue light goes off the car works fine the rest of the day. I cleaned the EGR, polished the glow plugs and tested them, put a new fuel filter, tried a working SCV from my mate's car, and did a full tank with fuel treatments. None of the above-mentioned worked however the car performance is much better. I tried to warm up the fuel rail line with a hot cloth soaked in hot water and will top it with hot water every now and then and the car did not cut off but won't drive as normal unless the engine itself is warmed up. Once it is warmed up it runs fine. Any idea what else could it be? Thank you
Sandy i think you could be on the right track looking at scv. When I've had trouble with them the symptoms have been poor idle, high pressure and customer complaining of intermittent loss of power
@@sandyande scv faulty common problem on the denso fuel system change both around £80 for genuine denso , i had bought cheap scv valves that failed months later so best going for the denso
Sandy i have an Avensis and every 3/4 years it runs like its running out of fuel. No codes. The fix on mine is to clean out the EGR valve. Seen that on a few of these D4D's.

Thanks Tam I'll get him to clean it out, thanks for tip, Sandy
Would you throw a video or two on how to do that? I seem to have the same problem

I wonder did they changed the fuel filter when they done the tank.
No idea Ian, I had initially wondered if they disturb the intank pump??
@@sandyande and a second had fuel thank id say you don't no what crap was built up in that either.
Hi there Sandy did you find the solution to fix this issue?
