Appreciate this series you've made. The install video was really helpfull in getting an overview. Im eager to getting hold of an e46 and doing this will defidently be something worth looking forward to! Keep it up!
Just know how mint your car is for its age and appreciate that every time you interact with it. It has everything. The interior, the trim, the heated seats the zhp package of course, the wheel. I could go on and on. Your e46 is a spectacle and you take good care of it for all of us please.
Hi Brett, Great video as was your install video. I have an ‘03 ZHP that I installed a VF Supercharger on last year. I”m using their tune. You mentioned in your install video that you’re using Chaos Calibration for the tune. Have you found a big improvement with that tune over the VF tune? Thank you.
Sweet vid man🤘🏽makes me rlly wanna do this mod after I swap my engine for a lower km one! I was wondering where you got that steering wheel? It’s so fire
I just picked up an 02 325i 5spd wagon and I'm dying to get this kit, honestly it's crazy to me how much cheaper the vf kit is vs others (not cheap still ofc lol) but I have a lot to do with my car before I do that. It has 280k on the body and 170k on the engine but looks a lot better than you'd think with the mileage! Need to do a shifter rebuild, clutch/flywheel, bushings and mounts, and do a thorough inspection of the top end. I'm also on the hunt for catless headers since mine are clogged and I'm in FL to so fuck it. It's also lowered and on newer bmw wheels with Perelli p zeros.
Solid video, I'm planning a similar build and your channel has been extremely helpful so far. Keep up the good work! Just curious, have you had any issues with heatsoak? There are a lot of claims on the forums that the VF kit has this issue, but I have only found a very limited amount of actual info about this. I can imagine it must be stupidly hot in Florida atm, pushing your temps up.
@@marktorres9818 I'm in NZ so the temps are very unlikely to effect me, I'm just trying to find more info just in case. What are the benifits of going turbo instead? I'm only wanting to make 270-300whp and the vf kit is right in that range with basic bolt ons and good tune.
Just a fyi revving high doesnt do any extra damage to your engine, if anything it help. At high revs your torque drops significantly but at low rpms the high torque causes more stress.
Do you highly recommend this kit. I have an 05 E46 330xi and I'm looking to supercharg it. Does it pull really good and can you notice a huge difference before and after. Thank you for the videos
I can’t speak for him but I would recommend the active autowerke kit I have a stage “3” on my zhp it has a larger m3 intercooler, schrick 248/256 “FI” cams, and AA meth injection. It pulls hard from what I can tell on video a lot harder than this kit my zhp walks scat packs, ss, 5.0s etc. but my kit was alot more expensive for the price the VF is good but fair warning they don’t have upgraded kits for it unlike AA.
Thank you so much for reply Tony I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. How much hp are you pumping out? And if you don't mind me asking what was the total cost for your setup
Depends! If you get bit by the mod bug or not. I wouldn’t recommend supercharging anything less than a 330, as tony has stated the kit is very limited so if you get yourself feeling more power you will be stuck. However I do feel as if the VF supercharger kit is a great mod and adds a very nice gain in power, while it’s still retains factory like features. it will also make your car more appealing if you go to sell it and hold it’s value very well. Find a custom tuner , I would recommend chaos calibrations!
@@briang3033 I believe AA has stopped making their e46 330i stage 1 and 2 kits. You can maybe find one thats old stock somewhere, but otherwise the only supercharger options are G Power and Vf.
@@brettkrehling8738 ahhh, I see now… I literally just rolled my car bro. The day after Thanksgiving I lost control and wrecked my 05’ e46 zhp… I’m in SC if anyone needs parts. Stage 2 Dinan tune.
Hey. I’m not sure why my replies are having issues on our previous comment thread. Do you have instagram where we could chat more about your supercharger?

on the m54b30 high rpm's put a lot of strain on the engine because of the weak harmonic balancer.
