I got an ACL tear in 2018 then did physio for ages did nothing then found out I got arthritis in my knee that damaged my cartliage I had surgery for the cartliage damage which was not last year but the year before 2022 ive been seeing the orthopaedic surgeons at the hospital ongoing since my knee surgery now recently I've found out I have a meniscus tear and a joint effusion I have an appointment on the 18th of March to see if im having more surgery
Thanks for the very informative video (again) After a 30-year-old ACL replacement, I was operated with a torn meniscus 2 years ago (it was a resection) Although I recieved a hyaluronic acid injection later, my problems (continuos instability and more times lighter injuries through only everyday activities like walking and turning) caused two more men.tears lat. + med. as well. Because the regenerative treatment combinated with physiotherapy and strength training unfortunately seem not to be enough to live a full life, I have to decide for some surgery. I would be interested in your brief personal opinion regarding meniscus replacements (like Actifit, and similars) or transplants. Thank you in davance! András (from Hungary)
That surgery can be helpful, but most people aren't good candidates. It doesn't help much if a patient already has damage to the articular cartilage (arthritis).
I have had more than a year of knee pain after a crash on my mountain bike. I should have had an MRI a lot sooner but I did not. I did get an MRI a few days ago. The Findings were Torn body and posterior horn of the medial meniscus, thinning cartilage of the medial joint. Specifically(Medial) Longitudinal, tibial surface tear posterior horn medial meniscus extending into the body of the meniscus. Mucoid degeneration of the medial meniscus. Mild subchondral bone marrow edema of the medial tibial plateau. Mild fluid signal along the medial joint line with mild signal changes within the MCL but without grade 2 or grade 3 sprain. Possible grade 1 sprain. thinning cartilage of the medial joint. (Lateral): Mucoid degeneration of the lateral meniscus and no definite tear. Subchondral cyst changes of the tibial plateau. Overlying chondromalacia grade 3 and grade 4. Preserved cartilage of the weightbearing lateral femoral condyle. Mild popliteus tendinosis. Prior strain of the fibular collateral ligament. Intact iliotibial band. I have not met with the orthopedic doctor yet, I guess my hope is that my knee is fixable from a surgical standpoint and that some form of the alternate therapies you mention in your videos can be used in parallel with surgery to increase the chance of success. How would you advise to approach this with the orthopedic surgeon? Which therapy(s) do you think may help along side surgery? If I have to pursue the other therapies without the aid or advise of my orthopedic surgeon, what sources can I use for both the drugs and guide on how to administer them?

I tore my acl, medial and lateral meniscus in a soccer injury back in July. Did surgery, and PT. My lateral meniscus was in 3 pieces and doc said he stitched it up as best he could pretty much. He Mentioned I may need a cadaver if it doesn’t hold. I’ve been working it out 2-3 times/week and at 10 months out it still just doesn’t feel right. Cracks a ton, doesn’t feel stable. But I am able to walk with only occasional pain. 1) what would you recommend next to your family had this happened to them? 2) I don’t have money for stem cells. If one were to get a peptide what is a good one to buy?

How painful would PRP injections be at the insertion of the achilles tendon? Or into the achilles in general? Do doctors do anything to make it more comfortable? And is it true that if the PRP is prepared improperly it can cause more harm than good?

I have degenerative meniscus on both knees, however I can still walk/run with minor discomfort and also still be able to do weights (squats). Sometimes pain comes back and I ease up on activities until I can run/lift heavy. Will continuously doing these type of exercises (especially heavy squats) aggravate even further the meniscus?

Where are you located? My orthopedic surgeon just what to give me cortisone shots & physical therapy. I told him I’m willing to try it but what if my pain still remains. I also told him if it doesn’t work may I do the surgery he said no. It gave me no hope I don’t want to live like this for the rest of my life I’m 23 years old and have goals to reach.
