By far the saddest, most pathetic thing about the whole debacle is that this is Billy's ENTIRE LIFE. The rest of us only stop by a couple of times a month to laugh at him, but he's thinking about this every minute of every day. He has absolutely nothing else.

The entire situation with Billy Mitchell is the biggest case of Streisand Effect I've seen in recent years.
The more Billy tries to hide and lie about this whole court case with Twin Galaxies to keep it away from the public, the more people end up finding out about this situation in the first place. He literally does the opposite of what his intentions are.
It's like when some county governments tried to ban Two Live Crew - they got uber popular after that. The complete opposite of their intention.

The saddest part is that none of this needed to happen. Billy already got his fame, his money and celebrity from the fake records. Getting banned and exposed for cheating was a blow, but it wasn't the end of the world. He could have just lied and retired from public, getting away with all the lies and crime. But no, his ego couldn't take it and he just had to go and try to ruin innocent people's lives. He just had to commit multiple actual crimes in the process. Now it's too late....

As an American, I have my own red white and blue tie to wear around holidays like Independence Day but I swear, this guy wears a flag tie (and often hanky) almost every time I see a picture or video of him. I get the feeling he is trying to bolster his credibility by showing himself as a true patriot but I am just yelling "Noooo! don't drag us down with you!"
I love Billy. He's a perfect example of so many flaws in the legal system. It could not be any clearer how much of a liar this man is and yet somehow he is still allowed to waste everyone's time and resources.
It's crazy. I've been catching up on the latest developments the last year via these videos and at this point I'm convinced Billys lawyers just keep this thing alive to milk him. Like they know he's going to lose but the longer this goes on the bigger the bill will be. They can't be THAT bad at their job unless it is on purpose. He just keeps on digging the hole deeper. At some point they must have told him to just shut up and not say stupid things but here we are.
This wasn't the final nail in the coffin. This was the incineration. My older sister is a lawyer. She said that even in a deposition, lying is considered perjury because you're still under oath. Just based on that, I think that Billy is going to prison. When the judge decides his punishment, I'm going to cheer.
I highly doubt he's going to go to prison. It's a civil lawsuit. Sure lying in a deposition can land you in jail. But going to prison. Doubt it. He's probably going to lose a lot of money and broke.
people RARELY go to jail over prejury. People lie on the stand, right infront of the judge, and nothing happens all the time. He will be in more trouble for faking evidence. Hes probably not gonna go to jail, probably wont pay his legal fees for the first year or two after he loses, and then finally after being threatened with more sanctions and jail time, Billy will pay the fines and fees. Billy will likely wait as long as humanly possible to give them their money.

The strange thing about compulsive liars is that they're compelled to lie even when telling the truth benefits them more. It's really weird to watch them dig their own grave for literally no reason - but somehow they also happen to be the types of people who manage to lie so much they obfuscate the actual reality of the scenario.
His entire persona and reputation is so dependent on lies that letting the truth slip even once might cause the whole thing to unravel, so at this point he lies just to be safe.

Not sure I'd classify Billy Mitchell as a compulsive liar in the classic sense. He has no life or future outside being famous for Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. If you took it away, he would have nothing and be nothing. Of course, he'd stop at nothing, including spinning a massive web of lies to protect it. A lot of people would do the same thing, and that should be the scarier part.

It's a simple case of a man from an older generation not understanding that thanks to the internet he can't lie as easily as he could back in his day. There's some weird stuff going on in his small circle of friends, and that house of cards is about to fall.
It's all a giant boomer circle jerk. Lies and deceit were the way you got ahead and it was easy to do.

So, as much as I hate to say it, it's just as easy to lie today as it was 40 years ago. In fact, I would say that it's actually easier to lie today because so many people actively reject reality now and it's easier today than in bygone years to find an echo chamber to reinforce what you already want to believe.

This is a civil case afaik, not a criminal case. Whether or not he is prosecuted for lying under oath has literally nothing to do with this case itself.

As an american with a passing (IANAL) understanding of the state of the law, perjury in the US is rarely prosecuted, and jail time is employed even less. So while it could land billy in jail, it’s more likely to just cost him more on damages. Just to keep expectations managed.

Seriously. Even if he wanted to lie about the testing, when shown the video you just say that you forgot about that time. If it was a one off thing with a small comment that happened while playing the game, most people would understand that you might not have been paying close attention and forgot about it later. Even if that's a lie too, no one can prove what you do or don't remember. Instead he feels compelled to blatantly lie which is only going to make people think that he's trying to intentionally hide stuff.

I literally laughed out loud when Billy said he was just "playing the game" instead of helping with a test. It's like the meaning of basic words are completely fluid to Billy and are subject to change as it suits his narrative.
It's not "like that" it IS that. In Billy's world, he controls all and is never wrong, because his simpleton friends all believe him. Billy is finding out that the rest of the world isn't as dumb as the goofs that follow him. Lol. I mean, even after he loses this case, and others. He will simply say he didn't. The funniest thing about this saga to me is that it’s obvious these videos have been sitting on the back burner for weeks but jobst was FINALLY legally cleared to post them all which shows billy Mitchell doesn’t stand a single chance. I FINALLY saw Pixels yesterday and had heard that Peter Dinklage's character was loosely based on Mitchell (to the point that Mitchell actively promoted the movie as seen by the first image in this video). What I DIDN'T realize is that eventually it's shown that Dinklage's character was a cheater; it's literally his defining character flaw. Maybe the producers knew something Karl did as well.

Its honestly really fucked up that liars like Billy can just sue people exposing their scummy behavior into oblivion, if it weren't for Karl's incredibly kind & based community helping cover the legal fees he would have been stuck with multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars that he would have had to somehow come up with (to my understanding at least, please correct me if I'm wrong here)
That being said, it makes me so happy being able to witness Billy's descent into his inevitable downfall, getting closer with every video Karl releases.

They can't lie forever, especially if the game devs get involved to stamp out cheating in any community but yes it is fucked up and anyone who suffers this should get reimbursed for ALL legal fees (by the person suing them ideally)

it's a market if they weren't incompetent frauds they could have made a lot of money from, they were there on day 1 but people just passed them as an option because they were dumb f***s.
think about it, day was in a position where he could have been karl, the dad of the community. if billy wasn't obsessed with getting an another forever record he wouldn't have needed to cheat, if he had just approached it with sportsmanship he could have been the grand old man and could have done actual pr for esports. instead he chose to be an asshat and couldn't even understand the game enough so that even his cheated records got beaten without cheating.
