Cantarito!
The firing squad is a go-to for me... I make mine with a repasado mezcal, and the grenadine recipe you taught us. Served over crushed ice, it's rather tiki-esq!
El Diablo - (2) tequilla (3/4) lime (1/2) creme de cassis (2-3) ginger beer.
Sometimes you can dial back the ginger beer for a more liquor forard version. VTasty!!
"Debbie, Don't" from Sasha Petraske takes the crown for me. Amaro, tequila and maple syrup is a great combo.
I surprised myself when I found out I really enjoyed a Paloma. Of course a Mexican mule is always a good choice when you're a ginger beer fan.
More tequila and rum cocktails please!! Love the freshness and complexity they bring
Tequila and rum pair nicely. Mezcal and rum, too. Must be a latitudinal thang…

I like pairing rum with more rum
@@ejcandrin That is the way. Any cocktail with rum is always, 1 part Overproofed rum, 1 part "regular" rum.
Yes to this! More rum, Anders, please!
I think that Anders needs to publish a drinks book!
I'd buy it!
I agree!
Your recipes are always a hit at my family gatherings! Have a great weekend!
I followed your Firing Squad build using a reposado mezcal and added a slice of jalapeño and a few grains of salt to the shaker, and it's really hitting the spot. This is my favorite kind of tequila drink: sweet, spicy, smoky, and tart.
I love making the Matador with Chartreuse. Tequila and Green chartreuse is a match made in heaven. Happy weekend Anders.
Cheers David. Almost made it with Chartreuse before I saw how low my stash was getting. Great call
@@AndersErickson not making enough to restock my man? Lol
Reaaally. I’ll have to try that! Same specs otherwise?
@@danmcvicker3620 yeah, I use it in place of the curacao
@@N1120A The monks have decided to not increase production to meet demand, because making and selling booze is not their primary objective. Kind of a bummer, but it is what it is, and ya gotta respect their decision.
Love tequila and so glad you featured it again!! Can’t wait to try.
I watched some of your older videos on lunch break at work today and knowing you upload every Friday I’ve been waiting all day for this video! Much love from Sweden :)
Very excited to try your matador recipe, looks amazing!!
Loved the quick fire video and especially the screen shot of the recipe. It saves pausing and advancing to write down the ingredients.
Love the Matador! Thanks for the recipe.
SO STOKED you shared the Mexican Firing Squad... One of my absolute favorites, and your recipe for grenadine REALLY sets it off!
I've been MIA for awhile but Anders... my mouth is salivating over here!!!
Thanks Anders. Loved the video, straight to the point. I will try one tonight, cheers!
Good timing, I just bought my first bottle of tequila last week and was searching through your video for cocktails to make that weren’t margaritas! Keep up the great content ❤
Quick and simple showcase of your cocktails instantly subscribed
BROTHER you are off the hook!!! In less than an hour almost 4,000 views!!?? Crazy and well deserved!!
Anders, your cocktails are consistently complex and delicious. I love your stories and explanations for variance. You're really upping game; my friends and hubby thank you sir!
These look great. And, as for homemade grenadine, the recipe you featured on here is the one that works for me.
Great video, as per norm. Thank you for your awesome creative content! Also, I bought your hat a few weeks ago and I totally love it! The hat is distinctive and subtle at the same time. Cheers!
As always Anders killing it, Gracias
Beautiful drinks, I’m thirsty😁😁👌👌….love how you give substitutions for ingredients!👏👏
Anders thank you for always inspiring me with new drink recipes. I have improved my home bar skills and when i have people over they enjoy the drinks. I always let them know i got them from you 💯
Love getting some different ideas for how to use tequila
You always seem to make videos just in the right time for what I feel like.
These all look awesome; I look forward to making them!
Love this, been looking for something with tequila and Vermouth! This needs more exploration!
Glad to see different type of Tequila cocktails! Thanks a lot for that. It would be interesting to have another video with Mezcal drinks! Geetings from Tijuana México and... Salud! (Cheers!)
The Mexican Firing Squad as you make it is one of my favorite drinks. Got it added to the back of bar reference at my regular cocktail spot, I've ordered it so much.
Just recently found your channel and I’m loving it! Super excited to try out some of your amazing recipes. I’ve watched all of your bar stocking/equipment videos and was hoping you might make an ultimate (“money is not an issue”) bar buildout video. Not that I could afford it, but it would be interesting and something to aspire towards over the years.
Woot! New Anders and Az. Much appreciated. I like 1 1/2 oz reposado shaken with 1/4 oz lime and 1/2 oz Grand Marnier, to be consumed in two drinks. Simple and effect.
I'm really glad to see the Mexican Firing Squad get some love. It's in my top 5 drinks for warm weather and I much prefer it over a margarita.
I'm right there with you sir! I make mine with a repasado mezcal and Anders' grenadine recipe he taught us. Served over crushed ice, it's rather tiki-esq!
@@TreeCutterDoug I need to try it with Mezcal! I serve mine in Tiki mugs in the summer for this reason, it really hits Tiki for me. Crushed ice is killer here, keeps it incredibly cold.
Cheers. I made The Matador with a few tweaks (I had an open bottle of vermouth and wasn’t about to buy another bottle just for this):
25 ml Reposado Tequila (Altos)
25 ml dry Vermouth (Dolin)
25 ml Orange Curaçao (Giffard)
30 ml fresh pineapple juice
15 ml fresh lime juice
5 ml agave syrup
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Loved it so much I made another one within fifteen minutes.
That just sounds DE-Vine!
Great video Anders, definitely trying these. Could you please make a video on Morir Soñando?
Love the Mexican Firing Squad!
Awesome! I just bought a few bottles of tequila and this is exactly what I need!
Love this and your videos! I'm wondering with the Toreador if it could be creatively adjusted with other fruit liqueurs? And the Matador sounds amazing...will try!
Glad you guys are home 🏡
Yessssss Mexican firing squad is my favorite cocktail!
Love it, I've been all about tequila cocktails recently! The Saladito and Dream Catcher have become a couple of my go-tos! Excited to try these three
Hope you enjoy these recipes - Cheers!
The matador looks magnificent. I'm definitely trying that
You could call your Matador (squared) or something since you are combining two of them together 😁
I just went on to your channel to find a cocktail with pineapple in it. Perfect timing. I just made The Matador. Very Good!
Nice! I will definitely be trying the matador tonight. Having a ladies night and I'm the neighborhood bartender! Thanks Anders! Cheers!
With summer coming up, could you do a frozen drink episode or series? Looking for new ideas!
It’s become impossible for me to start my weekend without watching Anders first
I just got 4 tequilas this week so this came just in time! Thanks Anders!
Well played
Oooo, these look tasty. And another use for my apricot liqueur outside of The Lucky Stone (though I do make a lot of those, so bottle is low).
Anders, just recently discovered/subscribed to your channel, and I am very impressed! There are so many that I want to try. But, I was wondering if you can point me to any of your videos that focus on non-sweet cocktails. Sweet is so prevalent in mixed drinks, but I am really on the hunt for non-sweet cocktails. Of course I love the martini, and the family of Rickeys (e.g. Gin Rickey, especially if you scale back on citrus juice and eliminate any syrups), but I don't know about much else. If you have not already made a video on non-sweet cocktails, would you????
Happy to see a previous request of mine come to fruition. Cheers, Anders!
Cheers!
Love the Firing Squad! Puts the margarita to shame! One of the best drinks I've ever had - using your Grenadine recipe!
I always add some agave nectar to basically any tequila drink. My margarita spec is somewhere in between the trad and the Tommy's. Gonna have to try your Toreador!
The last few of your vids I watched had sherry. Time I made a shopping list!
Oooo... just made the Firing Squad. That was good. I think I'll have another...
What was your book that had all the recipes? Love your channel!
Your Mexican Firing Squad was a big hit (no pun intended)! I made 5 of them tonight for TGIF pizza night. Everyone loved them. Perfect balance of sweet & tart.
"The Mexican Firing Squad" is a wonderful cocktail to sip on - the grenadine really works with tequila The Angostura's brings some balance. Got some real grenadine sent to me today so had to try it.
Thanks for the great tequila-based recipes! On a different note, would you consider doing a video on shrubs? They're something I've never tried making but am very curious about.
Found you through Booze on the Rocks! I hope you make lots of tequila drinks! 😊
Have you played with acid adjusting things like pineapple juice? I’d love to see some videos showing off that technique if so!
These all look great, and I have the ingredients for the first and last, so that's awesome, always love that! I was thinking, Anders... since I love going to your premade playlists to find something quick, it would be awesome if you had a playlist with all your drinks that use Sherry in them, since that doesn't have as long of a shelf life, so that it doesn't go bad for those of us that need some help on how to use it. Just a suggestion. Keep up with the awesome videos, as always!
Great suggestion! Cheers
If you are finding yourself in a situation where you don't know where to use your sherry - then try this. Ice cold, on the rocks. :D Sherry is so versatile. If you like the stuff Anders recommends then try diving into the different variations of sherry, it really is an incredible world.
I added a couple dashes of Scrappy’s Fire Water bitters to the Mexican Firing Squad. Mmm, perfection!!!
Such an adorable video.
I love the Mexican Firing Squad but completely agree- quality grenadine is a must. Cheap grenadine can leave it tasting kinda like... cough syrup, I suppose.
These all look great. I'll try all 3 this week. If you've ever been to Rome there's an excellent bar called La Punta Expendio de Agave which has an insane amount of tequilas on their bar and walls. Definitely worth a late night visit if you're in the city in Trastevere
An update to my post, I made of these and they are all great. It shows how tequila can be a more than just a margarita spirit. I didn't have any sherry, but used sweet vermouth and Toreador turned out very nice anyway. I might turn down the agage down to maybe half though, but who knows as I used sweet vermouth........
We had a toreador on at work until recently, delicious!
Such a good one - love the apricot!
I love tequila and will be making these 💚
What brand of grenadine do you recommend? Thanks for the ideas ❤️
apricot has been showing up a lot for me lately, I've been falling in love with the Charlie Chaplin, and actually have been using 1 part regular brandy and 1 part apricot liqueur to substitute for apricot brandy (kind of hate the apricot-flavored grape brandy and can't find a decent one from apricots locally).
Plays nicely with both lemon and lime, although the Chaplin calls for lime. Try it out Anders, I bet you'll like it enough to do a video!
I need that book
Very excited to try these - especially the Matador. Our two tequila faves after margaritas are El Diablo and Paloma (and we do several variations of this).
Absolutely loved the tag doesn’t take like Poo I died laughing like a 5 year old 😂🎉
Liber and Co is where I get my grenadine and orgeat. Awesome stuff!
Fond of the Matador and Mexican firing squad but didn't know of the Toreador. Will have to try that. Thnx my dude. Cheers 🍻
I have really been enjoying a variant of Penicillin using tequila and Mezcal to replace the whiskeys.
The firing squad was our house poolside drink of the summer last year, it's a GREAT cocktail
With May 16th almost upon us, can we (finally) get that long-awaited Chartreuse eps we've all been jonesing for?!?! Yes yes I know the elixir is rare, precious cargo these days but the universe deserves an Anders All Chartreuse eps!
Oh Anders…yum but really THE GLASSES (from Viski)!! Thought I told you I haven’t got room for any more 😂but more I shall be buying.
TOO THE BAR! ➡️🥃
I used to watch 4 different cocktail channels but if I had to pick just one to watch all the time it’s yours. Imo
Your timing is impeccable. I'm just gearing up for my yearly Cinco de Mayo/Star Wars event, and although nobody ever argues with a margarita bar, it'd be nice to offer something different for those few wanting a change of pace.
I would give quite a bit for something I can tenuously tie back to Star Wars, though. Any ideas?
Great video. But you're missing my favorite tequila cocktail--the Dead Man's Handle. It introduces another great combination: Tequla and Orgeat. The Dead Man's Handle is on my short list of favorite cocktails.
Lol at the shell game in middle of video 🐢😂
I have a WILD tequila (mezcal) drink my wife and I messed with. It's insane but great!
- 2oz Vida Mezcal (smoky)
- 1oz Creme di violette
- 3/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liquor
- .5 oz fresh lemon juice
A twist on an aviation with a LOT more depth/dense. It is delicious. But i'll be trying yours!
Might have to make that Matador; that thing looks delicious.
Man, if you could introduce me to some more good stirred-down aged/dark rum drinks that would be amazing. I love a rum old-fashioned or negroni, but they are hard to come by.
A nice "fast and friendly " episode. 😊
Great video! I'd love to see a video about sherries; they're kind of a mystery to me (what's types are there?! what's the difference?! what about shelf life?!) and I'm too lazy to Google it.
Anders, just wanted to let you know, had a party Saturday with the UFC fights, and I made these with friends (about 5 of them) had little 'tasting' party... everyone loved them, but 1 and 3 were the favorites
Nice Anders ✌️🔥
THE MATADOR looks delicious, definitely trying that one. You know Anders ive never tried sherry before. I think it’s time. What is your most favorite sherry cocktail?
A sherry cobbler's always good, fog cutter if you want tiki, and the Adonis or bamboo for more of a sipping cocktail. So many good ones
Saving this. I had given up on tequila. (Even margaritas I find that mixing tequila and rum makes a drink I prefer to a normal margarita.) But these look delicious.
Very nice, Sensei! We made all three in honor of pre-Cinco de Mayo, and they were all excellent. I may have preferred the Matador slightly. All grand. :-)
I was given a nice Viski mixing glass that came with a strainer. The strainer was too small for the glass, slipped inside the glass, got stuck, and broke the glass.
Question: what's the difference between an old fashioned glass and a low-ball?
My favorite tequila drinks are 1) my take on the black Russian replacing the vodka with tequila; 2) my take on the Negroni substituting tequila for the gin, and 3) straight up in a glass... blanco, repo, anejo, extra anejo, I love them all. I love a good margerita, as well, but stick close to the classic there, tequila, lime juice, orange liquor.
New fan here from ph, that was a very nice tequila drinks, but im interested in the recipe book is that for sale?
Woohoo!!!
Yay!!!
You made me laugh out loud at 2:40.
If you use a Triple Sec instead of a Curacao, for example, how much simple syrup or agave nectar would you use to balance the flavor?
Bruh youre at 450k now?!?!?! I remember seeing you at 100k and being like dude this guys gunna be big
Anders , can you come up with a coronation cocktail ? We have a King"s coronation in the UK next week.
