      I remember when people complaining about why there is no co-op mode, (there is a convoluted, 3rd party way before then), but when they really implement it in game, people complaints again.

    What I noticed about games I've loved getting worse over time is that they don't listen to players and that they prioritize adding more content instead of fixing and bettering the content they already have. I know that new things get people playing and spending money but long term it slowly kills the game.

    Thanks for including OwL in all of this!
    Honestly, besides the grindy progression that's overpowered by design, I think it's worth bringing up how absurd items and soulboons are. With as little as a lucky cat and the genie boss skill, you can set up an unlimited gold farm to use genie infinitely and get every item in the game, which you can use to one-shot the final boss with one of the game's weakest attacks.

    The amount of power that a good item combo provides is absurd. It can make OwL feel like a math problem instead of a videogame.
    I'd honestly never thought about how bad the rotation system was, it seemed like such a good idea when it was added since it used to be impossible to get the other characters. It's also been well over a year since a new character got added there (the last 15 characters are all obtainable through universal fragments only, where an 18 frag char takes 3 mirage passes, 9 months, to unlock).
    Oh and I also wanted to remind people about Dungeon of Weirdos, a game that got released by chilly, got a single minor update and is now no longer on the playstore. I definitely didn't spend hundreds of hours working on a wiki for that game :(

    How hard it is to make a connect button?
    -Draw the button
    -Decide where the button will be
    -Copy the code for connection that runs when the game starts and paste it to the button's scripts (and like tell it to run when the button's hitbox is pressed whether on the start of the program)
    -Release the patch

      Instead what should have been done is "if no internet skip update". Thats baffling to me they didn't think of that despite literally every single game with update reminders doing this

    I spent about 30-ish dollars on soul knight when i was younger and i sincerely have lost the drive to play it
    Meanwhile terraria + slay the spire cost 15 dollars and i still continue to play them for YEARS
    I used to love soul knight but it truly did fall off a cliff

    Bit disappointed you didn't so much as look in my direction when researching problems with OvvL but I want to correct a few errors here and there.
    I. 29:41 - Don't let the powercreep fool you, ice is still a broken skill. Having high multihit with a big aoe and keeping enemies in its area while allowing you to pees off elsewhere will always be broken. This piece of utter toe gunk is where the powercreep problem of OvvL began, after all.
    II. 31:11 - While I get where you're coming from, these specific tasks are all done automatically just by playing the game normally, hardly a grind. You can also get 100 points in a single run fairly easily just doing one or two extra tasks (one of which is using the merging station a few times, which you have little reason not to do anyway).
    III. 32:31 - Actually quite the opposite, power of asura is almost useless in its current state. The grind is insane, yes, but the fruit of those labors are almost non-existent.
    Poa scales off of your character's base stats, which means a character with lower X stat will benefit less from X poa than a character with higher X stat.
    On top of this, most of the stats you can raise are useless in general:
    1. Health and Armor - Enemy damage has been powercrept so hard, especially these last 2 years, that you need over 100% on these stats for most characters just to survive an additional hit, hundreds of thousands of soul stones for an insignificant increase.
    2. Attack Speed - Most skills do not directly benefit from increased speed, which makes this stat hard to promote as they'll perform the same number of hits and have the same cooldown, for a whopping 0 dps increase. You could argue that performing the same skill with the same dps in a shorter time leaves you more time to perform normal attacks between skill usage, but normal attack damage is an actual joke for the vast majority of the cast, this stat should only be used for characters whose skills actually improve with speed.
    3. Critical hit rate - A percentage increase of a percentage that only increases your damage by a small amount, we've done the math in the discord and the only character who can even use this stat is Ginzo and only after nearly maxing poa as a whole, a complete scam through and through.
    The only stats worth investing in are movement speed (only because base mspd is non-existent and everyone moves like a rock) and damage. And even damage loses its edge once you learn how damage scaling actually works (poa doesnt contribute much at all for oneshot builds, only really being noticeable for early game), which the game doesn't tell you and is nearly impossible to learn on your own (always thank Silver for his hard work).
    To sum this all up, poa does absolutely nothing to "create" any op builds, much less "guarantee" your survival. Whether you think a system to improve your characters over time should exist in a roguelike or not doesn't even matter at this point, if you hate it its on principle and if you like it its too much work for too little reward, being the worst it can be for all parties involved.
    IV. 33:14 Because Real Mirage was added first. Individually they're also a lot more tame compared to what RM adds, being just enemy health and damage (remember when chaos 2 made the game easier?).
    V. 34:32 It wasn't just "unnecessary", it completely killed the character by removing everything that made him good and replacing it with a resounding nothing. The only change that could be argued to be a buff was him receiving a normal dodge, but that was not only completely unnecessary (especially when his unique gameplay came almost entirely due to his lack of one), it came at the cost of his arms, legs and urethral virginity.
    VI. 36:16 - It's a shame that you ended it here without elaborating, because these are the real meat and potatoes behind OvvL's downfall, the part where the devs actively try to change core gameplay mechanics for the worse.
    1. Category Boosts - The idea of specific item interactions based on theming isn't a bad one, but the way it was implemented here was absolutely horrendous. Not only are a lot of items mislabeled in their categories, having unrelated or missing labels, but this system promotes using items for what boosts they can provide to other items rather than proper item synergy, which leads to builds with a "central item" or several followed by a bunch of useless crap that buffs it to the point of the build being usable despite its nonsensical nature. This system has also replaced item balancing almost entirely, on the rare occasion when a bad item receives a cboost, it has to be given the most unreasonable trigger requirements to ensure the item still stays unusable, meanwhile good items receive easy to trigger cboosts even when they didn't need a buff in the first place.
    2. Weapons reworks - I'll be the first to say that the original weapon system was pretty awful. Weapons only had 3 stats, of which only damage mattered for the weapon itself, as aspd increases were both niche and extremely small and crit rate was crit rate.
    To offset this, weapons had items infused into them, which were complete rng to replace even though there was absolutely 0 reason to be.
    However, as awful as the power switch system was, it did provide low damage stat weapons some use if they had better items than your higher damage stat weapon, so even though characters only had 1 or 2 good weapons (stats were fixed depending on the weapon and its rarity, as well as generally leaning more towards one of the three stats at the cost of the other two), every weapon could be usable under the right circumstance, something that cannot be said about either of the weapon reworks.
    First weapon rework removed items from weapons and, to compensate, increased the player's item slot count to 10.
    Previously, players had 5 item slots and up to a maximum of 4 from weapons, which we can reduce to 2 for two reasons:
    A) Red weapons (4 slots) were unreasonably rare, most runs would end with a yellow weapon (3 slots).
    B) Most weapons would have at least 1 useless item that power switch would simply not let you remove under any circumstance. Yes, this an rng thing, but extremely common in practice.
    So you effectively had 3 new item slots to empower your builds and low damage weapons were no longer able to be elevated by good item rng, instead having new buffs that exclusively affected normal attacks, which as we've covered before, are extremely underwhelming, making damage stat the only thing that mattered when selecting a new weapon now.
    Then it was reworked again, adding some minor buffs that affected skills and a third skill, which can be a skill from another character or a boss skill, which can no longer be selected as a secondary. This effectively makes boss skills unusable unless you get extremely lucky with getting new weapons that also have the exact boss skill you want, which is a low chance to get due to the dozens upon dozens of character skills you can get. Once again making damage stat the #1 priority when selecting a new weapon, tripling down on the problem of useless non-damage weapons instead of trying to fix it.
    The original system had this problem, sure, but of the 3 systems it was the only one where low damage weapons had the potential to be used under the right circumstances, something which both of these reworks lack.

      3. Skill reworks - The absolute worst ones by far.
      The skill system is the blood and soul of OwL, it's the thing that made it stand out and not just "another mobile game", the variety and adaptability in gameplay that multiple skills can offer is what kept the game fresh and replayable over and over again...or at least, it was...
      A) And then there were soulboons.
      Not only are the vast majority of them disgustingly overpowered to the point you can have all 10 item slots filled with useless junk that doesn't even serve to fuel a specific item's cboost, but they also lock you into that specific skill as well as invalidate a ton of styles and overall serve to reduce gameplay variety.
      For example, there's no reason to use Peddler's 3/2 now that you have savoir faire to reduce the cooldown of 3/1, meaning you can have the full benefits of 3/2 without the damage reduction or removed armor, completely invalidating this style.
      Or better yet, you can increase the duration of Akaisha 2/3, completely invalidating 2/1's entire existence (this style was already useless to begin with, it didn't need to be murdered).
      Or some skills that were previously overpowered would now be useless in this current meta because they have absolutely no boon support, like Hayfa's 1/2. Remember when this was the strongest skill in the game? I do.
      And the list just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.
      And the worst part about this is that boons lock you into that specific skill you chose at the start of a run. Gone are the days of changing your skills to suit your items, now its the inverse where the items are either useful to you, or they aren't.
      And the worst part is the game is now balanced around this system, and if a character ever needs balance changes, it too, is done through this system.
      Hannah used to be awful at crowd control because her only AoE was done through 2/3 or 2/2-Logan. And when they finally gave her other guns the ability to pierce enemies, it had to be obtained through a boon, so whether Hannah has that much needed crowd control outside of 2/3 or not is entirely rng dependant (the same goes for Anibella sharing is caring, or Alasdair flowing form, to name a few).
      And most of the time, boons aren't even enough to buff the skills that needed buffing because the already good skills have something infinitely better anyway.
      Overall, boons have only served to reduce variety in builds and make players so op the devs had to raise the difficulty of the game as a whole, which still isn't enough for boons to NOT be a completely overpowered mechanic.
      B) Then there was the first skill system rework, which came along with the first weapon system rework.
      Explaining how bad of an idea adding imba mode skill orbs to the normal mode was would get this comment, my youtube account, my online presence and my real life presence removed.
      C) Then there was the more tasteful second skill rework, which was still complete and utter Dan Schneider's foot fetish.
      Having to choose one skill to be primary and one to be secondary and not have the benefit of styles adds an extra layer of thought to your build. Do I want Quan 3/2-4 or 4/2-3 for instance? Double the damage output of shoulder bump or make the already strong s4 even stronger? Having to choose one or the other for primary makes 2 different builds, and its not unheard of that both of these builds could be equally valid choices.
      Even if we take the dreaded boons into account, its still a factor to consider. 2/3-3 or 3/2-2 dragonsoar build? Stronger shadows during skill downtime or double skill usage?
      Having this choice has always been important because its a meaningful one to have. Having 2 primaries and being able to just use 4/2-3/2 or 3/2-2/3 for both examples only serves to reduce variety even further and, once again, stray away from the very core of OwL's gameplay.
      In order for a choice to matter, one option has to lock you from the other, if you can pick everything, you're not actually choosing anything.
      Double primaries and 10 item slots aren't just bad for powercreep reasons, but because they actively reduce the amount of thought you have to put into the game, the characters, the items, the everything.
      What even is the point of having these choices if ultimately, none of them matter?
      At what point does OvvL stop being a roguelike and become a visual novel with its...complete lack of player input in order to progress?
      These are the issues that keep driving players away, the game becoming simpler, easier, and removing player thought and input entirely through non-stop powercreep.
      And its not a valid argument that you can just not use a lot of these mechanics either, because the game actively makes it difficult not to be overpowered even if you do try to avoid it, which should never be the case in the first place.
      That's what has all of us frustrated with OvvL right now, because the things we love about the game and the things that made us and kept us interested are being actively removed one by one.
      This is coming from an optimist, but the future for this game is only looking darker and darker...

      About the weapon rework, although I absolutely preferred old weapons, the second rework did in some ways help fixing the "damage is the only important thing" issue. Since you can get affixes that increase skill damage by ~30%, you can often get a fairly significant buff besides just getting stats. These buffs are also multiplicative on themselves, so if you get 2 of them you're in for a treat. The DoT affixes generally just reduce your chances of getting the good mods, which is a shame, but I still think the affixes are definitely something to consider when picking a weapon.
      I'd also like to point out that the rework might not be a nerf to boss skills at all: although starter weapons have no stat boosts, they can still be infused, and you can often end up with a respectable 14 or 15 damage. This is obviously a far cry from the 23 you can get with good luck, and you'll have few chances to roll for good affixes, but since you don't need to sacrifice your secondary slot for boss skills anymore, this arguably made them better, since instead of sacrificing your character's tools to use them, you just sacrifice some damage.

    I installed the old version of Soul knigt, so I can play offline again.
    They ruined the game for me, and now I lost all drive for it.
    And the best part is - it didn't even prevent cheating! So it was fully and utterly worthless.

      yeah they should release as a fully paid game so no microtransaction is valid in my opinion. So you can unlock everything. I think live streaming games is hunting in every direction and I a tired but I can't just the urge to comeback to games that I find entertaining to me.

    I agree with you, soul knight feel like easier every update and just make the game more boring.
    The only problem with roguelike/roguelite game is how repetitive it is. I like how Chillyroom make more character so we can enjoy more and make it less repetitive. But yeah the problem is how they suck to balancing the Character and how little they put the lore to the game.

    I also have an issue with their skins, like almost half of it is Chinese culture related. Like I get that Chinese history deserves a spot as a skinline (Like almost every mainstream game has atleast a Lunar New Year Skin line and so), but boy they have like at least 3 of them. I'm not hating on Chinese history and culture or anything but boy this game ain't an "Ancient China" themed game bro.

    You nailed every single point precisely accurate. The whole video are very well segmented with jokes here and there, it's enjoyable to watch through and comprehend what you're trying to point out, quite kinda similar edit with whoisthisgit if you know who he is.
    And yea, I wholeheartedly agree with you, can't blame chillyroom for everything but can't deny the fact that the game becomes too ez at some point due to op stuff they added;
    Quite a misopportunity to point out recent new skills are literally "Paladin Skill 1 Clones but": EMP - Stun; Bagua - Reflect; Orbiting Star - Pick up everything and throw (auto aim); Amon's Protection - hybrid with Priestess skill's 2 but better; EM Field Device - Stationed; Lancer's upcoming skill 2 - pickup and spin; Warliege - bigger and collect bullet with effect; Starfall Surge - you need to stack up.
    Finally, 47:10 is the part that got me completely. Chillyroom not trying to make wifi-baits skin challenge (impossible). "Oh but some females heroes are free! some female skins are free!" - If the female heroes is free then the skin they get next would be a paid skin. If the female skins are gems/season coins locked then the heroes are usually paid one. And if a hero is a paid one and not being wifibait, their next skill or skin would be gems.

    I think they should make a new difficulty for level mode which makes all levels and biomes harder, making Neo Isles and Chiseltown as hard as they used to be, and removing the 2-5 scammer, the temporary resistance buffs, and the secret rooms.

    I feel like Chillyroom could definitely invested more into being physically able to receive player feedback. Being a game company situated in China, the media that Chillyroom will be exposed to will definitely be different compared to the media we consume, and much of player feedback, especially via social media, will be filtered out. This will minimise the amount of feedback which means that Chillyroom may not be completely ignoring feedback, and is just receiving a very small percentage of said feedback. Language barriers also pose as an obstruction in the greater picture.

      I think the problem itself is their ego itself because they probably want to make new games. But the problem is in programming you will never satisfy everything. As for me my self using sand box editors and programming it is not hard but boring to fix everything by numbers. I really see chillyroom had a number problems in every enemy type because the game are linear but procedural . I really hate to say every game had this problem also developers like parents that what want to changes that affect your life. We could do feedback but changes are not guaranteed. And for me gamers really need to professional now in gaming. Before games are just gimmick but it is a challenge to commit so keep in mind is keep the game has only two option: by pass it's commands master control to customize it with your own lickings like what modders that I see in youtube which is mostly illegal like offline mods, and power ups or do the same thing; play the game as usual. Don't make a ridiculous grind and pay if you need. I bet forsure all this new characters is not op at all and most of the unlockable and free heroes is more powerful. In skp we can't dungeon crawler games. If you want to fix it. You have to create a complate new game. because it is created as intended. As an rts player who got overwhelmed by mobas I see why they not choosing to play rts. Because people more often just want to plaY using meta just brag about their friends and boost their ego just like real life instead of just enjoying stuff what you in the game because you don't care if they are higher. But in the other side the problem of soul knight life span itself is when the time if devs will still make the game avaible if they end the support because rusted warfare and legacy games are just existing because they are still avaible to their surviving community. EVery games is like a civilization an the only remnants is what is left working in hands. We can't hold the power to stop it. As you know you are growing older an these games will not exist forever.

    Lets go:
    1. The interaction between Dev and player seems to be very little and almost non-existent, like every game from China, the developers hardly care about non-Chinese regions, any changes must depend on It's up to CN players and it's really bad, it's so bad that when GB players decide to send a large amount of important feetback about the bad state of the game to the developers, what they will do is say " yea, we know about your problem, on my way to fix it" and then threw all the feetback in the trash. This happens with almost all games from China, and the exception is when CN players and GB players cooperate together to call out the developers.
    2. Boring game concept, taking SKP as an example, an average season of SKP will be as follows:
    -Recharge to buy a new class and experience according to the old season instructions, within 10 minutes :V
    -speedrun to carnelian on Day 1
    -When most veteran players have reached Carnelian rank, more than half of the players in the community will disappear (mainly veteran players or players who have played for 1-2 seasons)
    - mid-season update, hype players with some game modes (it's worse than the smell of socks stuck in shoes for a day)
    -player returns to farming red equipment and exits the game again
    -at the end of the season, players who haven't reached Carnelian are frantically looking for someone to carry, climb ranks or quit the game (trust me, I've seen too many new faces who can't last a week because of the number of valkyrie levels required to get to Carnelian rank). so high that it is not worthy of farming)
    -The season ends, everyone waits for the new season, new class and..... end
    This repeated continuously from season 0 to season 2 and will probably repeat in season 3
    The number of players is decreasing too quickly and too much.
    Why does this happen, because the game repeats too many things, the gameplay does not change and no one cares about the old or weak classes when the meta classes are too strong and far superior to the other classes, no. Who still talks about assassins, rangers,...
    coop mode only adds 3 more players to a map as small as a nostril, all hopes and hints of a coop mode were contributed by the community from season 0 and yea, nothing new for coop, auto matchmaking also doesn't work for some reason :v,
    Bad game optimization, why Chilliroom,why a pixelated game can make my phone stutter while my phone can play zzz and hang 1-7 arknights for several hours without any problem.
    3.Internet required, everyone says this but I want to add that Chilliroom suddenly created this confusing thing due to fear of mods and hacking the game, but making internet connection mandatory does it. annoying the majority of serious and clean players, why bother making the majority of the community uncomfortable to deal with the small portion of players who are not clean.
    What I want from chilliroom's game is entertainment when there is no internet, cooping with homies around me and connecting with remote players, not a bunch of connection error messages because the server is like shit and crap. The problem is because the dev is stupid
    My friends have almost abandoned chilliroom's game since this mandatory requirement appeared, now I have no desire to play soul knight anymore.

    My conclusion to season modes(SK)
    LC(little commander):
    -extremely fun
    -very hard but really manageable
    -just find 3 identical heroes and give it a purple or yellow and you're pretty much good to go
    -very cheesable
    -Good rewards
    -bosses in this mode can get dunked on harder than they dunked you on your first badass run
    Conclusion: chillyroom return this mode now
    SWOC(Sarcred weapons of the old continent):
    -less fun
    -insanely hard and less manageable
    -gamble just to get better stats
    -hard to cheese
    -final boss in this mode is tanky and can hit you like a truck
    -good amount of skill and luck is required
    -rewards are almost not worth getting
    Conclusion: Chillyroom. Why did you create this?
    RF(robotic frenzy)
    -magic survival ptsd intensifies
    -rewards are really not worth the effort
    Conclusion: again. WHY?
    TORI(travelogue of rosemary Island)
    -less easy, less hard
    -totally manageable
    -just pick a good damage hero and boost it 300 fold
    -easy to cheese even In its buff by devs
    -get dunked on or you dunked them on
    -meh rewards
    -First introduction of mythical weapons(pink, nearly forgot to mention)
    Conclusion: I kinda want it back but at the same time no
    TK-GF(three kingdoms - gunfight)
    -why are you nearly impossible to not cheese

      I mean with Great Commander, the real cheese in Lv5 is just 4 knights. (Yes you could also unlock the clear lv3 without losing popularity points at higher levels).

      Yeah knight is indisputably the best great health, high base attack speed and multiplier, the ability to DOUBLE said dps, and it’s common so stacking 4 3 star knights wins 10/10 times (at least with basic kiting)

    Didn't play soul knight since 2020 I think, didn't know things were THIS bad...
    One thing I want to say is that sega right now isn't only famous for sonic, but also for persona (although most people I asked didn't know it's from sega) and their like a dragon(yakuza) series (very good games btw if you wanna just spend some time in funny good quality linear games)

    soul knight was always a bit of an on-and-off game for me, when i had lost my data like a bit before they added cloud saving i realized how garbage sk’s early game was you basically just play a low-level rogue and spam dodge until you have enough money to buy someone actually worthwhile. i kinda never bothered grinding everything back since that was like 3 years worth of sporadic play and i could not be arsed to go and do it all again
    the last event i played was like phase 1 tori, which i did notice was INSANELY broken if you were intelligent with your buff choice you could very easily steamroll everything and itd just get rly boring since waves are time and not enemy clear based

    Hello thousand, I have just discovered your channel today. While I haven't visited SK in a long time and haven't try SKP yet, I did have extensive experience with OWL and thus, I would like to share my disagreement and elucidate some of your criticisms of the game.
    1. Quan Huying and Katherine: Quan Huying is the poster character that is supposed to introduce the player to the game. While her gameplay is simple, straightforward and boring to put it bluntly, she shines in being reliable with her overall solid kit and high health. In fact she can combo with all the item sets in the game. Katherine is the introductory ranged hero of the game. Yes, she is slow and sluggish, but her main attacks are the easiest to use and all her skills deal tremendous damage. She also teleports for her dodge.
    2. Power of Asura: I understand your problems with the mechanic, but i have to remind you that the player has full control over it. Game is too hard? Level it up? Game is too easy? Reimburse it. It is indeed compulsory if you want to stand a chance in later challenges of the game, I also dislike the steep difficulty curve. Otherwise, gems are abundant and one-shot builds can be made from purely items.
    3. Character grinding: I have been playing since the when the game was conceived, so I can make sure that the current system is better than no system at all. You have to understand that ChillyRoom amidst everything, is still an indie mobile game company. They're one of the few that bothers to give the player an actual engaging gameplay compared to console or PC games, differentiated from the stereotypical innocuous mobile game loop. A company has to make money, the pricing isn't exorbitance, so their system strikes the perfect balance between players and themself, at least for me. 2 weeks of waiting is a side effect for the fact that it's just enough time to grind for one character.
    4. Lack of updates: This should have been higher, but regardless, it can be better.
    5. Skin with unique perks: I don't think you saw the toggle button on the corner, allowing to skin to be as it is. You also seem to overreacted at this feature. OWL is an offline, single player, casual game, skin-specific perks don't matter. To even elaborate, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare enables an unique gameplay alterations for each skins, but i don't know it in depth so I could be wrong.
    6. Unnecessary reworks: I agree with this point. I always believed ChillyRoom has their own reasons, but it is still frustrating. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And no, the game isn't close to breaking. They did take away some of the fun items.
    7. Buffing heroes: The reasons Ginzo recieved so many buffs isn't because he's the favourite, but rather due to Heirloom Katana - Centurion just dominates over other skills. He was always strong, they just want to even out his kit. Why the "weaker" heroes didn't get any attention, its cause of their core gimmicks or designated playstyle. Hilding has no armor and low damage output because of his Rage and Berserk gimmicks. Pedller I don't find him weak, just has a high skill ceiling. Huo Yufeng sacrifices attack speed for damage and all her skills deal raw damage. Balancing is a curse that haunts almost every single competitive games let alone casual games. Why? People would rather chose unbalanced but interesting and diverse over balanced but boring and vapid. Still, bring back old Gerard.
    8. Emo kid: This could have been part of the above part, however, I want to branch of into another aspect. Yes Ruthven is overpowered, so let him be. What made video games so popular is thanks to the concept of "power". People like power fantasy, to be able to easily maul through hordes of enemies while being virtually untouchable. Yes, there are countless ways to gain "power" in OWL, but only few are from the characters themself. Hell, maybe Ruthven has the reverse problem, where his strenght comes form his gimmicks.
    9. Soulboons: I agree that they can mitigate the difficulty to the point it becomes a cakewalk, but like many others features, are optional. They can be the substitute for PoA and items or be ignored completely. If you want a challenge, customise your run as you wish.
    10. Conclusion: There will always be dispute inside a community, we're bound to it thanks to our individuality. I do believe that if the majority agreement usually means its correct, but i distanced myself from almost all sources of social medias so I really just living under a rock. Overall, great video.

    Anyway about the video, i think you really express the frustration for majority of the playerbase really well.
    Some other things that i would like to add is:
    1. Skins, not surprising, most of the recent skins really is a "waifu" bait. No offense to those who liking it, it clearly what sells on the market. But for the love of god, can we get a more "mediocre" skins? Like just change the model or just add different effects?? Take Brawl Stars, they have this glorious looking skins for 150 gems but there's still some cheap skins in between for 30 gems that looks pretty good too for the price
    Oh yeah, also can we have "normal" skins, y'know the one that fits the characters? Im not going too much to detail about this since it's personal preference _coming from someone that liking tf2 and create a loadout that fits the character and not ruining the art style_ . What im trying to say is more grounded skins, that's it.
    2. Game identity, besides the "offline" tag that always a selling point for the game now worthless, the other thing is the actual gamemode inside the game.
    The other selling point that i see from this game is a "give me 30 minutes break" kinda game. Now this might be me, but for the longest time i played this game in my spare time. But what chillyroom add is gamemodes that took HOURS to do, heck even infinite one of them. While yes you can just got back and continue again, most of the time i just i kinda lost the sense of continuing it. Again this might be just me
    TLDR: Wish Chillyroom add more grounded skins besides the over the top skins we always get
    Add better gamemode that doesn't took more than hour to complete

    Last time i played was in 2014-18 maybe after that never really touched this gem as i was caught up in the cod mobile hype.

    Dayum, so it has finally dropped. Altho i wont comment much about the meta and gameplay issues of the heroes (as im pretty much a casual as hell player even tho i played since launch), i wud very much say that OWL (even excluding the gameplay and balancing POV) has been really lacking in terms of lore progression and some sorta character "backstory"
    (The following is just personal opinion) The fact that they keep soam adding newer and newer characters without focusing on which realm they are from rlly pisses me off lowkey.Cuz part of what made me stick to OwL the most is the (personally speaking) unique character roster they have and the realms could possibly allow a goody ahh ass fella like me to have a head cannon on how each of their realms could indirectly tell each characters back story and 'lore'. And also, where da fak is SAKRA? (The main "antagonist" of OWL period)
    Overall i say, informative as always and keep up the good work. Be sure to keeep up with your studies and stuff tho 😂.
    Rlly hope that Chillyroom could give extra damn to OWL, not just in terms of balancing and gameplay, but also in terms of the "lore and back story" of the game.

      Why tey wanna make us go thru the game like a "normal/classic dungeon mode" just to get to the new bosses.. i rather them skip or at least shorten the "realm battles" b4 meeting the bosses to keep the pacing ngl....(esp the new revamped items confused da hecc outta me now... :') )

    On a somewhat related note to the issue of biome design and balancing in Soul Knight's level mode, literally what is the point of the special/secret biome options for your second world? Who goes to those for any reason aside from either wanting a blueprint or something from them or because they haven't done so before and want to check it out at least once? They all have either extremely obnoxious hazards, bosses, or both.

    A lot of these problems are distinctly present, though there's also other stuff that I feel needs to be mentioned.
    First up, I'm dead tired of Chillyroom CONSTANTLY obscuring the stats of to-be released characters in their trailers. Look at SK, the only time we saw any of the HUD for any character was Astromancer, and that was JUST for his completely inconsiquential star bar.
    Second, still on about their trailers, they put their focus super disproportionately, not even just in what games they talk about but what IN those games they talk about. Why did Astromancer, the paid character of that SK update, get completely relegated to a skin video? Why are they making all the cross classes for each new class in SKP a different video? Why do they not finish releasing these videos on the cross classes until damn near the end of the season they debut, after everyone's PICKED classes?
    On the subject of buffs and nerfs, I also need to touch on some of the background stuff. For one thing, Chillyroom HAS the ability to know the pick, play, and winrates of every character in all of their games. The reason they have us say seemingly inconsequential numbers that are already in the screenshots for their giveaways is to verify the run clears. This means they absolutely know when a character is underplayed, under performing, or overplayed/overperforming. This is one of the reasons why alchemist got jack shit in terms of good skins and was the last of the base skin reworks until after they reworked his first skill, because his play rates were abyssmal, so it wasn't worthwhile to, but this reasoning is also neglecting that having good looking skins directly influences playrates. This also extends to the balance, they ignore underplayed characters like Officer or Peddler because nobody plays them, while neglecting the fact that buffing these characters WOULD increase their playrates. It's very distinctly a self destructive drain funnel.

      @@JoshHassan-m9r to be honest, the legendary heroes are almost another matter entirely. By their very nature, their play rate is going to be lower than any other character's since even if you're really good playing on badass it still takes two and a half winning runs to fill up the simple wave conductor's battery AND they're still banned from the majority of side modes even though the strongest of that roster is still an inconsistent character AT BEST. Gathering data for rebalancing them is virtually impossible due to how they were designed.

      You should still only predict like, two trailers worth of announcement content though, one's worth for characters and the other's worth just for the four skins of the update.

    I love dis game because it supposed to be offline game...i play di game since 2016 and it was good....but then 2024 this game suddenly need to use internet to play ....and i getting suck day by day....."BRING BACK THE OLD SOULKNIGHT"😢😢😢

    I think one way chilyroom could make matrix of the Lord of evil more fun is by simply giving them means to die faster, like giving them an option to inflict multiple debuffs on themselves(maybe by using coins collected in the run ) that they'd be rewarded for if they beat that biomes boss, and instead of making each room last for 2 minutes after i think 9-1 they should instead make the enemies much more aggressive instead of just filling my screen with them. Because there's seriously no reason why someone should be able to reach 100-1 while it's still easy af with a good build.

      Sadly, most companies don't operate like that. Some only want big results with minor effort - and when it doesn't go that way, they flush it down the drain.
      What's even more damning, is that I see Chillyroom going that route. We already saw it firsthand with their more "obscure" titles like We Happy Restaurant or Xeno Command.

    Another issue about OwL is the battle pass. For F2P players, it is absolute nightmare, i mean you grinded so hard for nearly 2 or 3 months just to get 6 fragments, 6 FU*KING FRAGMENTS and how many of them to unlock the character, 12 OR 18 FRAGMENTS, of course you could do daily missions to receive 2 specific character fragments but what if you got them all except others that you could not unlock by those specific character fragments ? HAIYAA

    The reason why they convert offline to online is to avoid piracy and modded version of the game that enables features like godmode, free currencies, etc. Many games that are mainly single player also do this as well

    It used to be my favorite offline game since the gamemodes are enough for me to kill some time outside or during the blackout. ALL until Chillyroom decided to make it a online game for no fricking reason, now I remember how it used to be so good bc we could still play coop together without needing internet connection. I was like "wtf is that for?", a decent offline game compatible with coop without internet connection turns into an online game (and its features are still all the same). Now I can only kill time by a basic game like sudoku, barely open SK as I get to do many other things in ACTUAL online games

    i would like to see all the season mode back, as there we still have monster fights, matrix, boss rush, or the Origin. I miss so much Rosemary... it was good fun for me doing all the difficulty challenges. Even if they could work as resoruce farm and nothing more i would be still satisfied to do something different. Also the multiplayer could be more stable. Ppl only plays normal mode, nobody plays badass mode or buff/debuff mode and etc. Buff/debuff mode is my faavourite. If we could setting the buff and debuffs as we wish or play with all of them... omg this could be great. I really want play solo using this method, because hard to find somebody to play with. Imagine if we could be able to have friends in the game, invite them or speak with them somehow maybe in just the lobby, and after games ask them for next game in another time.

    You can just guarantee hayfa wins by getting a realmsoul with 2 buff duration boons on it

    The Soul Knight part is probably made before 6.4.0, because the newest season mode is utterly dogshit, and also I wanna add about the grinding for the limited pet/ weapon that they have been doing since the Halloween update, man I have to play through the Normal mode for about 10 games up to the 4-6 just to get those gifts, those grinding are so tiring and not worth it at all.

    I remember one time i decided to download Soul Knight thinking its still offline (I'm playing it where I have no internet access) and then met with the online required thing. It got me so frustrated as this is one of the only games ive played that ive liked.
    I didnt think it would become this much worse overtime, never played SK nor any other games since then. Being online for just a second is a turn off already.

    About Otherworld Legend..., well i would say it's too easy for me, even if i turn off all Asura Power i can still easily win the final boss or one shot them in highest difficulty (real mirage and Pan2), and i'm not mentioned about naga heroes who are freaking strong and easy to unlock their true power. I wish it can be more balanced 😞

    Also their other games you mention (or I came across) on the store have not been interested or just burn out of how they handle their game at all.
    Like they could've ACTUALLY LISTEN and POLISH their main popular game (vice vesa) instead of just do little effort and ship them like their fish just died from 7 days after going out to the ocean.

    I think balancing isn't the most significant problem because it is not a competitive game, and the game is still good. The main problem is how you can't play offline anymore, that was one of the main reasons to play the game.

      The starter weapon is trash
      The passive is mid
      The stats are ok I guess
      The 1st and 2nd variation of the skill are useless
      The 3rd might help you breaking bullets, but only works horizontally so in a bullet hell you can still die easily
      the 4th variation is good against bosses but it’s not going to protect you in bullet hell

    22:24 i cant advocate for neo isle because i remember it being as easy as ever back then, but chiseltown definitely was harder back then
    I remember bringing no-energy guns in badass because i was afraid of getting chiseltown and running out of energy 😭

    21:12 the fact chisel town has consistently been a tedious slog since 2022 with unengaging health sponges that attack once a week in badass mode and are spread out in rooms like 50% larger than normal ones is not a good sign.
    Running out of mana isn’t even a rare occurrence leading to boring barehanded attack spam running from one enemy to another.
    The bosses are fun albeit also extremely tanky. Queen is very directionally oriented with attacks that go in quadrants or horizontally making for interesting position control once the electric fences go up. King attacks once in a blue moon, just circling around or being up close are the two ways to dodge all his attacks, you’ll run out of mana half the time forcing you to wait for the adds.
