loved the video! such a great lady and very easy to follow instructions covering all aspects of what to do and why. I own a remodeling company and never had to custom mortise a mitre joint in a laminate counter top. Well done and keep up the great positive vibes!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Korbyn Avi Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Long time follower. I have a question on the router bit though. I'm having a hard time finding something like the one you recommend. Is the bearing something that you can add to any router bit? and what is the depth of the bit we should use? I think you said the diameter is 1/2 but I didnt hear anything about the depth of it. Thank you so much! I have learned so much from you over the years!
Hi, I have looked everywhere for a miter bolt mortise jig such as the one you show here. I am a beginner on the router and don't feel comfortable making my own jig. Suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks for video where did you purchase template? Also, I have to connect miter counter tops that I cut... what is the proper location to setup template? Any suggestion/video would be greatly appreciated.
DKA, To answer your first question, Woodcraft was where I purchased my template. Secondly, how you space the slots depends upon the length of the mitered cut. For example, a 45 degree mitered cut on a standard counter top is 36 inches in length. So in order to space your slots evenly, you would place the first one at 4.5 inches in, the next one 9 inches from that, the 3rd one 9 inches from the second, and the last one 9 inches from the 3rd, which is a total of 4 miter bolts spaced approximately 9 inches apart If you would like to see a visual of this, I could email you a sketch.
+Bryan Bunn Hello Bryan, The bit was set at a cutting depth of 1/2 inch. However, it is the thickness of the material and the fastener you're using which dictates the depth of the cut.
seejanedrill Msrandol, I called Woodcraft and they indicated that the jig is only available in-store and not online. Hopefully there is a Woodcraft near you. The exact name of the jig is "Fas-Flipbolt Jig" I hope this helps.
I got that jig at a woodworking store in Seattle called Woodcraft. You may be able to find it if you have a Woodcraft or similar woodworking store near you.
Thanks so much for getting back to me on this. I wasn't able to find anything locally unfortunately. With that said, do you think it would be feasible to freehand the slots with the help if an edge to guide the router plate? I was thinking of drawing an outline for my T slots, then using a guide to help make a straight cut type of thing - if that makes any sense
Hi John, I found a similar looking jig on Amazon. It isn't the same exact one that I have, so I can't speak to how good it is, but it might be worth a try: amzn.to/2Fus4Eq

Hi, I have looked everywhere for a miter bolt mortise jig such as the one you show here. I am a beginner on the router and don't feel comfortable making my own jig. Suggestions? Thanks!
msrandol2 You can purchase a jig from Woodcraft. I believe they run around $10. Good Luck.
Thanks for video where did you purchase template? Also, I have to connect miter counter tops that I cut... what is the proper location to setup template? Any suggestion/video would be greatly appreciated.

How do you tighten the bolt up into the slot?
I think you use wrenches to tighten the bolt.
Thank you you know your thing i need your help me and my wife we destroyed a word kitchen know I don't know how to put it back👴🏽👵🏽👉🏾😭😭😭😭😭😭
what is the depth of the router bit? 1/2" diameter, but what is the cut depth?
+Bryan Bunn Hello Bryan, The bit was set at a cutting depth of 1/2 inch. However, it is the thickness of the material and the fastener you're using which dictates the depth of the cut.
Would you suggest a 1/2" depth on an inch &1/2 thick top? The bolts are the same ones in your video.
❤
Having trouble finding the router bit. Anybody got an Amazon link?
My counter top is 3/4". Router depth 3/8" good?. A link for the bit wi old be appreciated.
Also, I looked on the Woodcraft website and no such jig?
msrandol2 It may be listed as a pattern jig.
seejanedrill Msrandol, I called Woodcraft and they indicated that the jig is only available in-store and not online. Hopefully there is a Woodcraft near you. The exact name of the jig is "Fas-Flipbolt Jig" I hope this helps.
👍👍👍
I can't find any cutting jigs anywhere in stores :(

Wow thanks a bunch Leah, I never would have found this on my own - talk about abstract product naming
🙂
This time I will use woodglut plans for this.
I have the same router it was given to me by a friend.
I am not router savvy. I don’t know how you see what you’re cutting. Are you just feeling the bearing ride the template?
Yeah, it's the bearing will roll off the jig. You can easily see it so you can adjust your speed
