Local H does a pretty great Nirvana show occasionally, says in character the whole time. I remember the first Nirvana show they did in the late 90s he kept purposefully knocking over the mic stand and then instead of picking it up he just finishes the song on the floor.
The ridiculous choreography of the cheerleaders makes this even more awesome than it already it is.
But say what you want, the girls have skill and talent!

Kurt is a funny dude if you think about it. As Weird Al never does a parody unless the artist gives him permission, so I can imagine how that went when Weird Al went to ask Kurt. Haha Kurt probably thought the idea was brilliant and just funny, as well it's Weird Al parodying one of your songs lol

it was all sad and boring until he filled his mouth with water.. then i started singing and banging my head. That's probably due to the reaction of the audience.
And the sadness at the beginning was likely due to the fact it is a depressing Nirvana song.

@@smarkmalark no it wasn't it was very hard and very depressing at least from kurts point of view from his vocal style and what he says in the song. the whole song is literally about kurt cobain being a tortured angry soul in desperate search of happyness that he cannot find.
man nirvana is getting gimmicky with thier concerts with those cheerleaders, at least cobain is a little more understandable now, novoselic hair is looking a little ratty though, pat smear pulled the whole song through though when cobain decided to stop playing like right at the beggining, lol like wtf, your the lead, play the guitar, grohls drumming has seemed to gotton worse, and who the heck was that guy on the keyboard

I can sound Loud and Raspy and Powerful And similar to Kurt Cobain but I usually Always Scream as Hard as I Can and Put Everything I have into it until I Blow out my Voice at the End in order to get that sound and I almost Always end up Destroying my Voice for a few days.

He was, and he and the band loved it. Kurt also said in an interview that when Weird Al asked to parody the song, he knew that Nirvana had made it big.

If you meant Kurt, he actually really liked it. He liked the music video Al made better than the original, and said he felt like he had finally made it once Weird Al covered him. The song was released before UA-cam, when Cobain was still alive.
He’s the one who gave permission and asked if it was gonna be about food, Weird Al told him it was gonna be about how no one understands his lyrics and Kurt thought it was funny, just look it up like the previous commenter said theres a whole interview on it

Около 1990го года, нирвана начинала становиться популярной (сейчас smells like teen spirit одна из самых известных рок песен в мире), Янкович спросил у Курта через людей можно ли ему сделать пародию (так как прикол Эла в том что он пародирует чужие песни, если есть разрешение) и курт ему разрешил, и да, эта пародия можно сказать является высмеиванием и кревлянием, но не в плохом виде, он взял тех же актеров что из видео нирваны для оригинального мюзик видео (того же уборщика, чирлидеров, тд.), и когда пародия вышла, курт похвалил ала назвав его гением музыковой индустрии, и для него иметь пародию его песни от Эла было поощрением.
