Thanks John. Just loaded the software and hooked up programer today. Adjusted my kv and poles as close as I could (2040kv snubnose) to 2020kv and 10 poles. Set my sine startup range to 22. Dropped sine mode power to 5 for 4s. Feels really smooth on the bench. Off to the rocks for testing.
Been completely impressed with my Crawlmaster v2 out of the box but would love to emulate a steeper throttle curve. Now I know how, thanks!

Woo hoo!!! Success!! Got it programmed! My problem was I didn’t have the correct driver selected, went down to the next one available, and then was able to select “com3”. I was apprehensive about that, because John Holmes selected “Com6”, I’m not really a computer guy, but “com3” got me connected, and there was no other choice. Lmao!!! The first driver I tried, didn’t have com6 or 3, or anything, just said seriel port, which wouldn’t have let me view, or change anything. Honestly, I was going to run my first outrunner (1800kv v2 revolver), and I did not want to sound like a space ship, so I was using the crawlmaster mini v2. All I changed in the settings was the kv of the motor, and low voltage cut off to 3.4 instead of 3.2. Thanks you guys, this esc motor Combo is much quieter than others I’ve heard
I really appreciate this video. When I got my first cm mini v2 I was really playing around with the low speed control and ran a battery wayyyy to low. I was like no way this thing doesn't have lvc.

Love my crawl master minis lol I was putting it in a g shot chassis with vanquish Capri axles and was just doing some tuning with no body on mostly suspension but the dumbest thing ever happened I didn’t inspect the V2 board very well after putting on the wires ( kinda excited)and a little piece of soldier/slag crossed over a pin on the chip and it went up in smoke which was totally my fault but that’s why you buy in pairs lol put in the second one and very pleased with the results. Then went and order two more that ESC is on a whole nothing level. Are you going to be selling the tuners on your website again when are crazy product chains get moving again

I was wondering about these ESCs. I haven't done a lot research but I figured they were basically a multirotor ESC. I'm thinking I could just use an old flight controller to be able to connect to BL Heli.
Go watch Furadi on UA-cam..he does this with those esc's
Hey john could you explain why brushed is better than brushlees,and why do some have to have brushless in there crawlers,and what do you think of the supposed redcats gen 8 axe first ever bushless crawler system,is it just talk.
I have had to run my throttle trim all the way to high on my sanwa m12 to get the Speedo to arm. In which way might I change that throttle neutral setting to modify this need?
Nicely done John Here's a question when you decrease the poll count from say 14 to 89 whatever Doesn't that change the torque of the motor as well?
no, just changes a little bit of the limiting parameters of the ESC
I just got mine and a revolver 1800kv, going for 3s on an lcg crawler.
Do i need to make any changes to the Esc ?
If I wanted to put my max reverse at 50% of where it is originally would I go to the input page and then adjust the “low threshold” down?
I bought the programmer from dlux and have been able to get the ESC and the computer to talk.
It’s all about the application AND the device driver. 😉 I’m not terribly computer savvy so I feel good about making that work.
Answered my own question by trying it. The answer is YES
I follow the directions on programming. I’ve got the am32 programmer, but for some reason can not connect to “comm6”, that option is not available, it just says serial connect. I don’t know what to do other than go to my local hobby shop, and maybe they can get it to connect. I’m running an 1800kv revolver, and all I want to change is the kv to match the motor, and turn the low voltage detection up to 3.5v.
When you say to lower the sine power if running an 1800kv revolver on 4s are your referring to the full size or snubnose?

I think I messed up. I loaded the CM mini v1 1.2 4s lipo fix bin onto the CM mini v2. What do I do now?
had ordered a v2 and 1800 kv revolver and the esc showed up Doa. and Holmes set out a replacement. just got back from working and put it all together and the esc gets about 120deg after running for less then a min. and the motor gets warm to the touch. its being ran in a scx 2 with 60t spur and 9t pinion on 1500 75c 3s new battery. check the settings they look good no binding on the drive train and not running any over drive. when it runs it runs like it should just gets hot. I have 2 v1 and another v2 and none of them have ever got this hot did i get another bad esc what else can i try?
I'm having the same issue with a simular set up. I see most if not all comments do mot get answered. Did you ever get it sorted?

Hi John, do the Crawlmaster V2's come ready to go out of the box? I'm pairing mine with a Revolver Team Spec (2050kv I think?) And thought it would work with my Castle software and wire but I guess not, just wondering if I'll be able to plug and play for testing the truck?
Yes, they have a pretty good tune as stock

Man I'm having a hell of a time trying to get my 52 or my 2500 KV motor to work with the new Copperhead Tennessee it's very very difficult to get working and I can't get it to work and I need help driving me nuts and pulling my f****** hair out
john im having issues with my v2. wired up just like your video. down low its super smooth but a little more throttle is coggs and then around half throttle it kinda cuts out. this is just bench testing and its was 80 degrees outside and after 10 seconds of testing it jumps to 110 degrees. i emailed and no response. im on 3s with 2500kv v2 motor. would your current settings be good for that motor?
Be sure your battery isn't old, have another to try?
@@HolmesHobbies its a fairly new battery and works perfectly fine with the sw4 and 2500kv v2. the esc chimes up and everything looks great as far as soldering. checked all my wires for low resistance. im getting a programmer to check settings to see if it way out of wack cause im assuming you dont program these as its a bare board
@@HolmesHobbies tried another battery same issue. even tried another motor. still does weird stuff. tried different tunes nothing makes a difference. defective esc and ive heard nothing back from holmes

I've had multiple failures trying to email and 'contact' someone, anyone on their website and I do have to say that for top quality products that they have, the communication breakdown ... is almost at a total loss! Sad! Just as John always says here, "Leave your questions and comments" ... yet still get almost nothing answered for the greatly needed help that we need! Real sad!

Hi John what do i do if V2 esc wont read. I am able to connect to programmer but M1 or read will not work. I have a v1 and that esc works fine.
you using a 3s lipo to boot the ESC?

My port shows up as serial port, not “com6”,and the drop down, does not have “com6” for me to select, therefore I am stuck. I can’t view any of the settings. The “esc multi configuration tool 1.82” window is there, the “direct connect” box is not checked, I checked it, it doesn’t matter, “com6” isn’t in the drop down, so I can’t select that. Maybe I don’t have the correct driver installed for my 3.5 year old windows 10 desktop. Anyone got any ideas??? I could just run the 1800kv revolver without changing kv, or anything else, but seems like esc is getting warm fast, and I don’t have drivelines attached to tranny yet.
I’m not an expert but I just recently got this figured out. It sounds like you do need to download, unzip and run the drivers. I downloaded them but didn’t unzip and was having the problem. Kept messing around with it and eventually realized they were still zipped and therefore unusable
@@rc7178 Yeah, I figured out later that day, that not only do you have to download the software, but also the driver. Took it out and tested it back in September, was awesome. One more run after that, then it rained like hell in California, for a while. I thought I was going to have to build an arch. Lol. Ran it on Saturday, and realized I need a little overdrive in the front portals. Trying 33% next weekend. 1800kv v2 Revolver and crawlmaster mini v2 esc is the shit. Dlux fab portal tranny, brazin ATL pro V2, NSDRC 800V2 servo. Capra axles, Jconcept ruptures, Dravtech shocks. Things awesome.
@@OH-Hobbies sweet! Not very different from mine. Sherpa rails, f10 axles, NSDRC RS700, Reef’s Comp Spec IS300, snubnose revolver 1800 v3 and a crawlmaster V2 obviously, Dravtechs, Dlux Driveshafts, Ruptures, and a bunch more stuff. Running bumpers and an interior and it sits on its side (CMS too). My next one is going to be SOA and lots of fun. Keep building and driving!
@r c sick bro!!! I forgot to mention the dlux Fab cut to length drive shafts. 13.75 wheel base. Not my channel, but check out Sean p rc, he's kinda retired now, but knights ferry rc crawler, (KFC). Those guys inspired me, and knights ferry ca. Is local. Have fun bro!!!!

Mine won’t arm. I just beeps, if I give it full throttle the beeps stop, let off and they come back. I have steering just fine. Please help John, I have emailed Holmes Hobbies with issues!
Adjust neutral trim most likely
Or it isn't seeing signal, if your radio is powered by the crawlmaster then its neutral trim. If an external bec is powering your radio then you might have the esc rx wire plugged in backwards.
Everytime I've had to calibrate from 1 radio to another I've had issues. From the castle site it says power on esc, while holding full throttle, chirp/chime, then full brake, chirp/chime, then neutral, chirp/chime...nothing. I've reversed the throttle on my radio, then tried again. I've tried reverse 1st, then full throttle, still the same. I was able to figure it out after awhile on my radio shack radio/rx but for the life of me can't figure out how to calibrate my M17/FH5. Please help!!
This isn't a castle esc. You might need to adjust neutral trim

I have no problem with the program you had for the v1. Whatsoever i cant connect with the version 1.82
I think i flashed the v2 esc with your v1 4s low heat firmawre. Where can i find the v2 firmaware?
@@CustomRcCanada no no no don't put the v1 firmware on the v2 hardware, totally different. I"ll have to put the firmware up for you on the website, although you probably just bricked it and we will have to jam the hex on here to fix it.
@@HolmesHobbies i just checked now its okay i mist have used the wrong port. When i look down on the setting page, I see crawlmaster2 v1.88 so i gess im still okay 😅

Keep seeing these recent videos on stuff that isn't even available. Frustrating. Also why is the bare esc soooo much more than a already wired one, when available.
