www.adafruit.c... 10k 5% 1/4 watt resistor (sub www.adafruit.c... OK, or any other vendor 1/4 watt 10k resistor)
AM32 open source files can be found here: github.com/Alk... Our ESC uses the open source programmer but uses our own custom Binary files. If you attempt to use compile with Hex files listed in the open source repository, you will fry the ESC!! Only update your esc using binary files provided directly from Holmes Hobbies.
To everyone taking issue with the diy/beta testing approach… this is a diy hobby. I really appreciate the sharing of knowledge we get from John. He’s a true enthusiast just like the rest of us.
They are more than welcome to develop their own products. Or just OEM from others and get escs on a silver platter like 99% of companies do.
I really appreciate what HH is doing (there is not one rig of mine that doesn't have a product of him) but ...come on this ESC wasnt even beta when they sold the first ones. Not a good way to introduce a new product.
ESC is way past beta and we were very up front about the lag for programming to be released. Our biggest issue was testing over the fall/ winter/ spring and nobody had temp rollback issues. Come summer and it reared its head. 1.1 fixes that. On to the next challenge.
I have two of them and they have both worked flawlessly without any programming updates. I’m not sure how much more turn key you can get? Introducing options after a product release doesn’t mean the product is still in beta testing. It means that there continues to be development on future updates.

Oh ya for got to say great work and kept it up. and i found all the parts at my local radio shack a little more expensive then online but was able to get it right now and shop local.

Would HH or customers be interested in a customized and assembled CP2104 USB to serial converter built and designed in the USA by Rugged Circuits? This could be a HH stocked item to compliment the awesome MINI ESC and take away the hassle of assembly for the customer.

Ideally if we could get John onboard and generate the proper volume, cost would be pretty comparable to the gathering all the parts and a few dollars for assembly. A HH LOGO would look awesome on the board as well!

I viewed this video 20 minutes after it was posted and ordered all the parts immediately. The signal diode was “out of stock”. I have all the other items coming from adafruit. Is there another “replacement part” for the signal diode or do we all have to wait for their supply chain to catch up”. I love your business model John and am a very loyal customer as a result of it!
You can order the same diode from about anywhere. Google will get you there

What solder/ flux/ flux core are you using. Depending on your flux type it can eat away at your tip more quickly.
Any word on when you will have more of these ESC's available online? I recently purchased a snubnose revolver motor and a shv800 servo and would love to power them by the almighty crawlmaster mini.

What is the highest drag brake setting? My rig weighs 5.5 lbs and the drag brake does not hold it on inclines.
Do you recommend we send in our ESCs if you don’t have the programmer? Mine overheated and shut off recently, but I assumed because I had the motor wires bundled and built up heat and a warming afternoon in Ohio.
You can do that or get a programmer yourself
I am a new subscriber and if I way out of the wheelhouse here please dont hate me, my RC financial funds are equaled to a shoe string and a old chewed bit of gum, so my question I Have a SCX24 witha bad stirring servo! Its happens to be the 3 wire type, well on broken HBX 24 there are front and rear stirring servos that work fine but 5 wire come from them, Is it possible to replace the broken mini servo from Working SCX24 3wire/3pin with a working mini servo from HBX front or rear working servo with 5wire/5pin somehow Makeing it work in on 3 pin SCX24 esc and getting my tiny rc dream on the trail again until I am deemed Disabled and can still be poor but can save hear and there for my RC Addiction even if I do it on shoe strings and super glue! Hope my question was understandable and clear ,I leave half of what I think I am typing out most times, and confusion I be more than happy to help you Understand Thanks,and Keep up the good work!

is there a different configuration when i have all three wires from esc. i have the power wire from the bec connected into the esc connector. where it was originally two wire. will that differ from what you have wired up and will it affect anything

hi holmes your motor revolver v2 motor noise is bothering me so i think you should strongly ask the castle company to update the PWM function!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was going to wait till the programing video came out but it acts a little weird now and then. when i up dated the file none of the check boxes were check but you went through them on the video, except the ones on the input tap low voltage cut off was unchecked. also the motor kv changed from 1450 to 2200 i'm running the 1800 kv revolver does this need to be set to 1800 kv? and the pvm went to 24 and not adjustable. These settings are what changed that i noticed when i updated. Now when i plug the system in, about every 3rd or 4 th time it does not arm it just beeps 3 times over and over. I un plug and plug it back in and it works fine. the other thing i noticed is it is not as responsive to the throttle input still great slow speed but from forward to reverse there is a lag now.
What configuration tool do you use?
@@themountain59 i made the first adapter shown on Instagram the red one and the configuration tool listed after the video on UA-cam. i have since downloaded the suite from the web site and it sesames to be working right now after re flashing.
So with the kv setting we can run 4s on the higher kv revolvers such as the team spec?

Soooo, it doesn’t come fully assembled? But does it come with all the required parts and just need soldering?
We have the assembled and ready version on the site. Or you can buy the parts from adafruit, solder it yourself like I showed, and save a few bucks.

@@HolmesHobbies what about the "holmes hybrid" with a revolver outrunner on one end of can that rotates and a stationery end of the can that holds esc and bec? Ideally with the unit still being short as possible as close as we can get it to the length of a stubby motor?? I really have been dreaming of something like this and thought I'd throw it out there basically a smaller fusion that's a outrunner with stationery end holding esc/bec?

Yeah, I thought we were doing a screencap but it didn't work well. We are gonna do another. This vid was supposed to be soldering a programmer but I went into programming to show the steps.
Please design a straight up rtr esc for asian budget. Crawlmaster mini esc is too expensive.
It's tough to keep an Asian price with US and Canada based employees and engineers and overhead. I'm sure there will be some company that fills the gap soon.
I want to like this, but it REALLY seems like an alpha product. Not even beta. Wow.
Actually its very easy ...all Heliguys get along with it pretty well..thousands of them.
We have a dedicated programmer designed but the IC shortage has prevented us from manufacturing them. In the short term, this is functionally the same device
