85% of renewable energy is backed up by diesel generators and because these diesel generator back up the renewables they are included in the Govt stats as renewable generated energy - so in reality that breif period that Jim states as 40% is actually 15% of 40% = 6% percent energy actually generated by the wind turbines in those breif periods.

Yep, you can have whole weeks where high-pressure moves in over the country and there's virtually no wind. The turbines stop and then the supply is kept running by gas and nuclear. Renewables are ok to supplement but not for base load, to intermittent!

The freezing was nothing to do with climate change, it happened because the rivers had a slower flow. Which was caused by older bridges spanning the river, as time progressed, and technology and materials improved there was no longer a need to have a where as many bridge supports holding the bridges up. Since wider spanses could now be covered with steel and iron as opposed to stone bridges
That is why the river no longer freezes, faster flowing water does not freeze.
This is the exact reason why during winter, for centuries. People would leave taps on a trickle to ensure the pipes did not freeze

A recent, fully referenced, peer reviewed article tracked co2e atmosphere concentration from 1700's to 2021 - and found that only 12 % of co2e can be attributed to petroleum use , with the remaining coming from natural process. The compliance carbon credit market is design to reduce energy in our economic systems. What do you think the outcome of that will be? I have a pretty good idea.

Paul forgot to mention how many arsonists were arrested in Greece and Canadia for starting the fires. I recall it was 76 arrested in Greece alone. The fires had nothing to do with global warming.

the IPCC is NOT a 90 page report. the latest IPCC report is 6000 pages long. what the 90 page report is is a "summary for policymakers" that is written by activist political appointees, NOT scientists.

@@ClimateRealism one thing that came to mind here wrt Dales's 'oceans warming' alarm, is that hidden in those 6000 pages is a tiny chart showing the steep decline in Southern Ocean SST over recent decades, at least over 20 years iirc. Not sure if that trend was bucked this single year, but it is a massive weakness in their narrative imo. Also North Sea SST temp trend over the last 20 years is exactly flat, not that a modicum of warming would be unwelcome to us here on the Yorkshire coast! No UHI over the North Sea I guess.

Wildfires on Mediterranean islands are often deliberately set by farmers burning off stubble. The authorities in those areas even have a fleet of flying boat water carriers, it’s that common.
I was on holiday in a caravan in the U.K. last summer (2023) when the BBC produced a map showing I was in an extreme high risk area of wildfires. It was daytime and I had to have the heating on as it was cold and it rained every day !!
2023 the coldest UK summer I have ever experienced my whole life and I'm in my 50s

Jim Dale doesn't know how the electricity grid in the UK works. Only a few days ago on December 26th at 17:00 the UK Wind farms across the UK only generated 0.942 GW (less than 3% of demand) and solar generated 0 GW. Even if the installed Wind Generation was 100 GW approx 4 times the current installed wind power it would have produced less than 5 GW for a demand of 40-45 GW.
The Grid would have completely failed and the UK would have been completely blacked out on Boxing Day if there was no Fossil Fuel Source Generation.
Indeed. Paul has done a good video on debunking how these people grossly over inflate the percentage of power generated by wind.
I agree with you there have been some good wind days this December up around 20GW but there have been some awful wind days well below 5 GWs and the less than 1 GW on Boxing Day. Wind and gas work hand in hand efficiently and we should be using excess wind energy to generate Efuels or hydrogen to decarbonise our burning generating system. The much heralded batterry storage takes up 4 acre as of land to provide 250,000 homes 1 hour of power.

On the good days we can’t store it as 100MW of batteries takes up 4 acres and they’ll never get planning permission for the 4000 sites needed. So we have to turn it in to something. E fuels or Hydrogen take your pick. The range for uk would be somewhere between 15GW and 50GW the usage is between 20 and 30GW currently 5 GW of nuclear so we would end up with a 0 to 10GW of gas

The amount of electricity on the National Grid produced may have been in the 40% range, but during the last 30 days, 12 of them the wind dropped to a trickle, hovering near zero. Also electricity accounts for just 20% of the energy needs for most households, planning on phasing out gas. Imagine being wholly reliant on the wind to keep the lights on and your house warm in Winter.
Yep, you only need to have high pressure sat over the country, the wind drops away, and the windmills stop! Too intermittent! Renewables are ok as an addition to the mix but as base load, it will always be gas and nuclear as the main generating sources holding the grid up for when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow! The production of electricity should be in public hands and not run by private companies which are usually foreign-owned!

If the producers of this show are reading this, please expand this section to be longer every week with more people and pick a specific topic to look at. Jim Dale is absolutely out his depth here even if you do agree with him, he brings views he claims are science but we can't fact check it, he did promise things weeks back and still waiting on them.Paul brings evidence and tells you where he gets it from EXACTLY so we can go check the validity out. Jim might well be correct (I don't know enough about climate) but we wouldn't know as Paul uses his own ipcc report against him and Jim has nothing, zero to back it up. I'm sick of main stream narrative pushing, the masses listened during covid and we are subsequently worse off as a population now. Lybian flash floods were caused by the regimes neglect of 2 mountain dams. The wildfires in hawaii were caused by environmentalists preventing the proper management (clearing) of brush and trees. And the UK has about 30 hurricanes each year, just unlucky this one in manchester hit a poorly built and maintained roof.

As the snow falls each year, the ice compacts and moves west towards the Ross Ice Shelf 🧊, that's why each year during summer in the southern hemisphere, you will see video footage of ice falling into the sea, the records show that the shelf has been falling into the sea since 1841, 😊

I very much enjoy these segments, which is the only platform on TV one can see any form of debate on this subject. But please GB News can we have a proper long-form debate on this subject with clearly defined parameters. Both participants need time to prepare properly and present their case, without one speaking over the other.
