- Climate Control Module Replacement, 1999 F350
Lately been having issues with my climate control not working. It's doing two things. One is that the fan sometimes just doesn't turn on at all. And other times I'll set it to AC for example, but it will continue blowing out the defrost instead of the vents.
Those issues made me think the control module itself must be shorting out. Here i go through replacing it. It's just plug and play. The only real challenging part is taking apart the dash to access it.
Now in the end, replacing this module didn't fix my issue. So next up will be replacing the blower fan itself.
Awesome! Keep it up!
If your stuck in defrost change the vacuum pump.
No in this case it’s the fan resistor. Only high fan.
Hey Tom Brueggen. I'm having the same problem. I changed the relay, blower motor, resistor, and just tried the control panel and still have no fan. Did you ever find the problem? Do you think I bought a bad resistor? It was a cheap knock off that I could have next day. Any help would be appreciated.
my ultimate issue is my resistor. I only have high fan. I did replace my actual blower motor at one point but still only have high fan. Never have bothered to replace the resistor. I mean, who every only run half AC or half heat anyway? :)
Wes Stankiewicz ,did you figure it out yet.Im havi g same issue on my mom's car,i have replaced resistor, blower motor, and relays and still only works sometimes.Im wondering if it can be the control module, because im still getting power to the ac compressor.
Ok
Hey did u ever find out what it was i have the same problem 2006 f250 new blower motor new fuses new relay new resister and nothing but ac compresor engages
It’s The resistor
Yep. Thanks.
@@TomBrueggen What resistor? I have the same exact issue in my 00 F-250.
SeatMech86 on the fan motor housing, under your hood, there is a small wiring plug hooked in there. It’s a resistor which limits power to the fan based on your in-cab setting. If it’s bad, the fan only runs on full blast, since that bypasses the resistor. It’s an easy fix I just forget to ever do it, and then run my ac full blast!
Tom Brueggen My fan works but the climate control from cold to hot does not. Do you think it’s the module or is there something else? Mine always has hot seeping out I can’t get it to close off the heat!
Dirty Diesel your mixing door is behind the glove box and runs off a vacuum pump. The vacuum pump is under the hood on the front right fender well, and is also what controls how the air is diverted from vents to floor to defrost etc. check that all your lines to the vacuum pump are hooked up and that it’s working. I’ve bumped mine before working on something else and had it unplug or have an air line slip off.
Climate control on GM 1998 2000 suck never work right, dealer repaired 4 times still screw up.
I'm dizzy.
Hard to understand his words/speaking. He talks too fast and slurred his words. Offers no information or clear directions to how to remove the radio or dash panel. Overall, very poor quality and no help.
He talks like a normal human being. Fix your ears. Dash panel is literally just clips, grab your dash panel and pull it’s not rocket science. Each radio comes out different figure out how to do it yourself 🤣🤣
