- Roy Orbison and this all-star cast of friends (Bruce Springsteen, k.d. lang, Elvis Costello and more) perform Roy's "Uptown," recorded on the Monument Records label. This video is from "A Black and White Night," available on Blu-Ray and DVD at RoyOrbison.com!
The backing band is TCB, Elvis's band from 69-77..James Burton Guitar, Ronnie Tutt Drums, Glen Hardin Keys, Jerry Scheff bass.
Tom Waits on the piano, Elvis on the harmonica and The Boss singing with Roy. Doesn't get any better!
Amen to that!
This is how it gets better...Roy, George, Tom, Bob, and Jeff in Traveling Wilburys

Bonnie wraite singing harmony vocals with K.D. Lang
And despite Roy's fame, he was so generous to encourage Springsteen up to the mike and sing with him on several songs. Great person, great musician!
Bruce Springsteen is a musician first. Good musicians keep their work ahead of their egos.
Happy Birthday to Roy! I never get tired of listening to him. Greatest Live Concert ever! Roy To The World!
Roy Orbison
Extraordinary voice, musicians. Perfect!🙏
It's so easy to see that these pros are doing what they enjoy - making incredible music. How lucky we are all to have this video to remember Roy's unbelievable talent....
Unbelievable amount of talent playing and singing on the stage. It's like the band of the century.
Great song great singer royorbison was one of the best, this is a great concert.
that guitar solo was perfect
Supercool tune, supercool muscians ! 💎 Legendary R.Orbinson
My Favorite Roy Song.
Everyone was having a good time. The Band, the audience and Roy :) It makes for a great performance :)
Love them all but madly in love with Bruce. 😂👌😂❤️❤️❤️
Springsteen singing harmonies with Roy..Way cool,friends..
I was just thinking how amazing it is to see the admiration for Roy in Bruce's eyes. They looked like they were having a ball singing and playing together. The whole night must have been amazing. Roy Orbison is my favourite singer. I wish I could have been there!
And Costello :)
You can tell from the expressions on this all star band how honored and happy they were being on stage with the Legendary Icon That Roy Orbison was. And I have to agree with Elvis Roy Orbison had the greatest voice in Rock&Roll. Such a terrible tragedy we lost Roy at such a young age.
+Milton Williams I commented on another page how there 's a stage full of top notch performers here, but there doesn't seem to be a bit of ego! Of course, Orbison was a humble man, and your comment , Milton Williams is right on. My opinion: I don't think you couldn get a stage filled with some of the singers of today. I'm afraid they'd be trying to outshine each other. I think the person, not necessarily the icon, initially set the stage for a harmonious performance.

+Mary Hill Well Mary you're right, to list all the great performers who joined Roy that night would take up to much time and space. They were paying tribute to Roy by being on stage with him. I believe they felt privileged to be performing with one of Rock & Rolls true Icons and Legends. How sad it was that we lost him at such an early age.
What a fine description you made of Roy.. so cool to watch all these fine performers with him and how in awe they were and how much fun everyone was having.. Great night !!
whew!
Ronald Koziel I am 76. Roy Orbison is a giant part of my life. He is the GREATIST EVER. I play him super loud and Brain and body feeling great.
This is "un friggin -believable" His "back -up" band..oh my god!!
looking at my copy of this wonderful concert Elvis backing group are with him so you are right in who you see.
That looks like three back up bands to me, maybe four! they must love him!
This is just the best band ever put together! And the backup singers are all headliners! They should be out front!
They were having so much fun it is unreal! I am a musician and have played gigs like this where you are singing with someone you never thought would be and it is fun for sure!
Black and White Night makes me smile until it hurts! Such joy on ALL the great musicians faces is amazing!
I am glad that i came here! My God how people can be sad? With this music is imposible to be other thing than HAPPY!! thank u roy for the music!!
I never get tired of listening to this fantastic album. It's brings back all of my thoughts back in the years when music was really great to listen to. What a group of professionals on that Album. Roy is really missed in my world.
Charles Giordano I am so with you on that one
Charles Giordano mine too
Amen brother. I'm with you.
Elvis steps up on the Harmonica, guitar and organ. Cool. There is enough talent on this album to make five bands. They came to honor Roy! Excellent. Karl
Roy is way better than Elvis. Roy can play guitar and write music Elvis can’t.😂
Amazing fun they have in playing...Roy was the most modest....greatest singer 😊😊
Ronnie Tutt on the Drums, and James Burton on lead guitar... Elvis would be proud!
OMG!! I'm having a Black and White Night. Does it get any better? What a sweet and adorable man was he? Wish I could have been there to enjoy it in person. Takes my breath away just to watch it. WOWEEEE! The band, the back up singers (love k.d.lang. best singer of our times) the drummer blew me away. Thanks for posting RoyOrbison ;) I know you're up there with the angels. Do some more channeling through k.d. She did you proud on the tribute show. We want to hear k.d. do pretty woman.

The whole night was superb, but BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, you got a lifetime follower after those moves, hot stuff! 💜 Bren
Wow how good is the bloke on the harmonica the best by far
These were back in the days and all you had to do is slip a VHS tape into a VCR and you could rip home box office off!!
This real music - not the garbage kids listen today! No curse words just pure music.
Love the way this has been slowed down from the original version which shows how versatile Roy's songs were and how he sings them with different nuances. Always surprising, always sensational...
