Achara’s reacting made it more fun. Don’t tell her to stop reacting, that’s the whole point of this channel. And I believe they left the lip reading for the viewers, because when everything goes silent you’re basically in her point of view so they must want the viewers to do the lip reading themselves to feel how she feels
achara's reaction to the boot is every girl's wishing they had one of those. This series is perfect if you don't think about other comics and be more in the moment
Heard this about She Hulk, which was god awful and a waste of time, and Secret Invasion, which was completely mid.
That's the thing though, a lot of these modern Marvel shows require you to not think about something in order to enjoy it. Viewers shouldn't be required to actively suppress a part of thenselves that "knows too much" in order to like it. In fact, in the first episode they hinted at her comic book powers, via her father telling her to learn by watching, and that was a very cool way to establish her strengths, but then they just completely undermine it with this new Avatar / Bleeding Effect-like thing that only confuses the audience. With Daredevil they kept it simple, a blind dude who uses other senses to be a badass, Echo could just be the same thing, but perfecting her eyesight and memory. They could give her the same powers that the main character had in Limitless.
It’s interesting watching reel rejects reaction to this show and now jabys reaction to this show. Binging both reactions one after another. Such different mind sets and likes and dislikes.
Yes Jaby is too negative, while Achara's reaction is fun, but then the grumpy Jaby spoils it. Indeed don't watch it Jaby and let someone else review it.

This show is doing for me what Ms Marvel and Blue Beetle did, by having us care not just for the main character but for the community and the culture. We never get tv shows that are this faithful in depicting modern Native American culture.
Uh, native American here and they do get some things right, but they also get A LOT of things wrong. Also Native American culture of today is NOT the same as it was back then.

I understand some of the criticisms of the show, but this “know it all” approach to critiques is what further polarizes the discussion on what is widely accepted as “good” or “bad. “ He runs off his mouth every time without considering the filmmakers’ intent and rather than give notes in support of THEIR vision, he nitpicks and whines about almost single aspect and mansplains his way into convincing the audience how he could have done it better.
Jaby is actually kinda amazing, when you think about it.
Somehow with that personality, sense of humor and IQ he was still able to convince an angel like Achara and a bunch of other smoking hot women to tolerate and hang out with him!

I saw every episode and personally I love it. I had a great time with this show.
I don't like Jaby's vibes lately, especially in this video. Whenever Achara reacts to something, he thinks it's over the top. Isn't this supposed to be a reaction channel? @@LetsGetitBoah no one remembers how people first reacted when daredevil dropped. No one liked Foggy and Karen. The show was to long, cause drags heavy in the middle. That first armor suit he gets is pretty wack for something they were hyping up so hard. That first hallway fight looks nice but most of those hits feel like wwe hits.

It's a good show. While there is a slight issue with connections and transitions I chalk that up to the recent edit/reduction Marvel did to improve the show overall.
I personally love the editing style…I like them getting to the point. Cut out all the crap that nobody cares about. Also I think the editing is done for a stylistic reason as well.

She has no idea why her hands glowed and how she was able t free her leg. She had a look of shock and confusion when it happened. She doesn't know whats going on. She didn't go to her grandmother because they are not on speaking terms.

Everything in the episode was fine for me. I'm more about where the story is going and everything else is just icing on the cake to me.
I've been loving the interactions between her and her family members and Graham Green's character who I thought was her grandpa. Also the disco fight was pretty cool to watch and I feel like they probably could've done both versions of what Jaby was talking about.
Start with the Batman style of whose kicking our butts and then have one of them act like they're looking at someone before she brings him through the wall and then getting badass crazy fight in the rink and game area. I think they just revealed Maya too soon in the back area fight scene and should've saved it for the wall scene.
Nice that the big guy showed up I'm just wondering if they are going to have Daredevil show up again for a rematch and to confront Kingpin. Most likely they are going to save that for the Daredevil series.
I need to finish rewatching the Netflix Marvel shows so I can get the final seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Punisher done before the new series drops.

I think it's kind of deserved though. This feels like such a waste. The trailers had me believing this was like the Netflix Marvel shows. But so much wasted potential. This could just be him getting fed up with all the constant trash they're putting out.

i do have to agree with him that this episode didn't really move the needle much. seems like they just wanted to tie up the informant plot and the consequences of the armory plot before moving on. i'm starting to suspect these marvel "spotlight" shows are one and done (she-hulk wasn't but might as well have been since the second season was cancelled). they're just appetizers before the main heroes like daredevil (and even daredevil's series got shortened by the disney execs). i mean, we might see she-hulk, echo, or werewolf by night pop up elsewhere, but they're not going to get much of a show investment let alone multiple seasons.

She can’t beat him in a fight unless she just shoots him again. While I’m iffy on the powers & her other 2 family members beating up the henchmen was dumb, it’s better that she didn’t want to kill Fisk & instead try to emotionally break through to him, still didn’t work in the end

The loud music was to cover the sound of the takedowns and prevent communication between the bad guys. It’s also the only way Maya can experience (fight) music through the vibrations.
Not everything can be groundbreaking Jaby. It’s a little irritating when you sound like you’re better than professionals and studios that have a lot of experience and success with their work. All these complaints in damn near anything you watch, I wonder what ‘really’ makes you so unhappy with everyone else’s work.
Why not go show Marvel how it’s done..?

The native representation in this show is so cool. I just wish they did something more with Maya, as a character. She's finding herself and is reconnecting with her roots. That's okay. But what else? What will her role be in the MCU? Because she's not "stopping" King Pin or replacing him. Idk. This is missing something.
do yk why they put marvel spotlight before every episode or do u not care to learn dat she is apart of a new genre of shows at marvel where they highlight the character themselves and not their overall place in the mcu’s big phases. fans like u ask for smaller scale characters and more intimate stories and when u get them u complain abt the things u didn’t like being “missing”.
@@amen20505 my issue with this is the same issue I had with Loki, when his story ended in season 2, it looked like a send-off. I get that some stories have to finish, but in such an interconnected world like the MCU, I prefer when they give characters a "mission", so they can appear in future MCU projects. As I said, the representation was the best part of the show. The rest was okay, but felt rushed and the final episode made no sense.

It'd be way better without the silly native American themes and the silly powers because they literally don't tie in at all. It was all tacked on to this very minor villain for a B tier hero so there's naturally nowhere to tie her in for future projects
@@jacobsampsonis7782 the character is literally native American and that heritage is part of her powers, so that part of the show is the one that makes the most sense.
Jaby is right about the tone. Are you serious or Saturday morning cartoon? Also, there are scene where both actors are signing. Only Mia needs to be silent. The other actor can speak normally so the audience understands what's happening. There were also pointless action scenes that lead to the bad guys just walking away. It was weird. It's not the actors fault, it's the director and writers.
Almost all of Daredevils fights end with everyone walking away

Something simple like having an actor sign and speak so the audience can hear what's going on instead of having to turn on subtitles. It's ok for Echo to whisper and sign. That's an oversight by the director. Scenes that lead to nothing, cartoonish bad guys. Not featuring more of the Choctaw Nation history, lore, and stories from that community, the writers failed the actors here. I'm sorry, I know what I saw. There is nothing here worth paying for a Disney Plus subscription. Story needs to come first. Take the people seriously instead of trying to use them for an agenda. They set them up to fail instead of giving them meaningful material to work with. There is a story there. A story of Echo who retreated back to her small town and has to relearn everything about Choctaw culture. We learn along with here as we are introduced to different people from Choctaw Nation.Then she returns to the fight stronger than she was before.

Loki was good as in that it was one of the only shows that had a tangible impact on the MCU. This entire phase was a waste. I don't know what the threat is. When Antman took out Kang pretty easy. The best thing they did this phase was Werewolf by Night. It was such a surprise. It would be so great to build blade off of that.

I wonder If Daredevil and Echo wants have conversation, how will they do it? One can't see the actions/sign language and another one can't speak .
In the comics Echo can read lips and she can talk so Matt was able to hear her and she was able to read his lips, so they communicated fine. In the MCU she can read lips, but the actress can’t talk, but Matt with his senses he should know sign language she is doing if he learn it.
He could hear her whisper because she's not completely mute like I thought.

I was disappointed in the first 3 episodes because i expected more violence than i got and the show is kinda slow for 5 episodes but l'll finish it in the weekend. Maybe it leads to something.

It literally got worse every episode. Once they start doing the silly native American stuff it goes off the rails. The show would've been half decent without it. Give native American powers to someone who's story has ANYTHING to do with it. The actress just happened to be NA so they built a whole show around it and it shows

Jaby why do you do this. I don’t know if you were just cranky this day or annoyed that you have to watch this show and going into it wanting to hate on it. But I sensed some tension between you and Achara which sucks to see. I love you guys.
And I understand just not enjoying the show if it’s not your cup of tea but sometimes you get hung up with the realism and validity of every little thing. But then other times you just let things go and allow yourself to enjoy it with like Indian/Bollywood films or anything else that is so far removed from how things actually work in real life.
I don’t want you to fake it and I do want your honest opinions on things but sometimes I think you like put up this wall and keep yourself from enjoying something from the start because of some little detail that most people wouldn’t even pay attention to. This show exists in a world where literal aliens and talking rock people exist…so just try to let things go that might not be 100% accurate or real.

This is my main issue so far. They aren’t developing Maya into a complex character. 3 episodes in and I still don’t know who Maya is. I don’t know what her internal conflict or what her mindset is being in this town. She wants to be Queen Pin, but why? What is her motivation beside being told she has all this rage. And they’re not giving us a reason to really root for her. Idk. It’s kinda frustrating, because like Jaby said, I want to like this, but it’s just falling flat for me.

Except, all they did was set the show in a similar town in OK. They left out the heart and connections that show made with a shorter run time. They even brought over some of the same actors over for this but they lack the personality and warmth. I do like the Echo/Maya and was looking forward to it but I think part of my problem is that I hyped myself up too much. Especially with the recent promos.

This show is bad. But give Echo to the Russo Brothers and it would have been awesome. It’s all about Storytelling. You have the actors, you have the crew. The directors and writers failed here. It needs to be story first. Film school kids learn this. What are we doing at this point? As a Marvel fan, I’m done.

Echo follows the same trend most Disney+ fall into; where it's clearly a movie length feature that's been stretched into a 6-8 episode season.
It's just unnecessary side-plots, characters, and events that aren't really related to the overall plot or character arch.
Short seasons should have a writers and directors work on all the episodes, not just 1 or 2. There needs to be a consistent and concise through-line of theming.
Echo would have struggled to fit into ANY time slot seeing as there's literally no story here. The show just exists to fill a diversity quota. Nothing about her heritage ties into the story. It's just a really long way to explain them changing her powers from the two bit villain she was in the comics who can "echo" the opponents abilities. To being an echo of her ancestors or some stupid shit? It's laughable
