Bivol let himself get walked down and constantly had to spend more energy to move and pivot around and put himself into bad positions like against the ropes. That was the main difference here. Beterbiev was willing to take some punches to invest in the walking down offensive strategy and it worked once he figured out the patterns of Bivol and Bivol hitting him really hard with a combo near the end of the 4th round I believe made Artur want to become more aggressive in coming forward and really let his hands go. Bivol's biggest mistake was hitting him really hard there and activating his beast mode.

I will say that at around 4:15 you can see Dekkard or however you spell his name, he looks past Vi. He is looking at her friends that are still standing. He is probably thinking that he may be able to take her out, but he won't be able to beat all three of them. Even with his knife. He made the right call. I don't think Vi would have walked up to him if she was alone.

Hey coach, could you make a video on using the high guard effectively and one about using the long guard as a short boxer? I ve seen loads of videos about the long guard and most of them were about how to be defensive. I think an offensive long guard would work extremely well because you can control the opponents vision, his hand placement and you could feint really well while keeping the opponents punching lane occupied and narrowing his choices when it comes to punching. I d love to hear your opinion on an offensive long guard for a short boxer. Keep up the great work❤️

i agree defense rounds are an extremely effective tool when used correctly. you can use them for practicing defense with a pressure fighter mindset , working on creating space with an aggressive opponent(by evasive footwork or by quickly getting inside and pushing away with the shoulder) , getting to the clinch in a realistic setting and getting angles off defense.

Hi Coach, it would be awesome to hear your perspective on the differences between Sanchez's and Sweetpea's use of lanes/angles against the same fighter, namely Nelson. Of course, Nelson adjusted himself to each fighter, but his puncher style was present in both fights. It would totally demonstrate how robust the lane theory you teach is, which I'm a big fan of and use!

I'm a big Nelson fan and thought he showed an interesting idea of trying to use the cross-arm catch for the southpaw jab to prime his counter left hook. Even though it didn't work very well against the slick Whitaker it stood out. Whitaker also seemed to key in on it and draw the left hook to punish with more right jabs.

Makes ALOT more sense now how Holyfield was able to beat Tyson. He had Tua as a sparring partner!

The robotic hand the Sevika uses in the beginning of their first fight actually locks Vi's arm by rotating unnaturally which is what catches Vi off gaurd.
