This pattern is super easy to follow and pretty quick to complete. It took me only about 2 hours to make the crochet beanie, with pom poms and everything. So it would make a great last minute gift for Christmas. It’s so warm and cozy, perfect for winter.

    My next project

  • @suzietoanoneart
    @suzietoanoneart 3 роки тому +146

    Start with 16 chains
For the second chain start single crocheting - 15 chains - crochet 1 extra chain in first row
Flip and Use back loops only, single crochet -15 chains - crochet 1 extra chain in second row
Start increasing by one, in first chain do 2 single crochets and then continue single stitching normally - 1 extra in chain in third row
Flip and single crochet normally - 1 extra in chain in fourth row
Continue increasing by one for the fifth the ninth row - end with 22 chains
Single crochet the same amount of chains for the tenth row - 22 chains
Start decreasing the chain by skipping the first stitch and do this for the eleventh to nineteenth row - end with 15 chains
Keep a consistent amount of single crochets for twenty to twenty-fifth row - 15 chains
Start increasing the chain to create the other ear flap for twenty-sixth to thirty-fourth row - end with 22 chains
Single crochet the same amount of chains for the thirty-fifth row - 22 chains
Start decreasing the chain by skipping the first stitch and do this for the thirty-sixth to forty-second row - end with 15 chains
Keep a consistent amount of single crochets for forty-third to forty-fourth row - 15 chains
Single crochet along the bottom edge where the ear flaps are
Single crochet to the thirty-fourth row and then create a chain for the tail (whatever length you want - count how many chains) - 34 chains
Crochet another tail with the same amount of chains as the first tail then attach it by single crochet to the exact same stitch on the hat
Continue single crocheting the edge of the hat until the ninth row and then create a chain for the tail - 34 chains
Crochet another tail with the same amount of chains as the first tail then attach it by single crochet to the exact same stitch on the hat
Attach the two sides by slip stitch and make sure the stitches line up - insert needle into stitches from both side and yarn over until you connect both ends - and extra 2 chains
Cut about 40 inches of yarn and then pull the yarn through and pull tightly so it is a knot
Thread yarn tail into a yard needle (I tied it to my crochet needle)
Weave it in and out of the stitches from the top part of the hat
Pull the yarn through to connect the top of the hat
Tie the yarn tail and the other tail from the beginning

I wanted to make a messy bun hat and I came across this video. This hat is so adorable I had to make it. However, you must have a petite head bc this hat is way too small for my gigantic noggin, so I didn't cinch the top and it makes for a very cute ear warmer.

This is fantastic. I’m making some hats for my sister-in-law who just lost her hair from chemo. This is fun and will make her smile!!!!

      Hi
Can you please give instructions for a 6 year child. Can we use #4 worsted yarn? Thanks

I just got done making this. I followed the steps but the hat I ended up with is not big enough for my head. It could be maybe the yarn is more bulky and has less stretch. I will make the pom poms and gift it to a friend with a child. I will make another one with different yarn and see how it turns out. Thank you for sharing the video!
