I know this is an unpopular opinion among the public because of that darn weird yellow dog but I genuinely loved TUFF Puppy character designs!! Their silohuette are really recognizable and I loved the more detailed clothing and facial structures. Top notch stuff from Ernie Gilbert :) also TUFF Puppy gave me massive nostalgia of when I was a huge FOP nerd as a 10 years old lol
To be honest, I always liked this animated show. It still remains my favorite 2010-era Nickelodeon show. But I still don't defend his flaws. In my opinion, this show had a great start and had everything to be well developed, very different from many shows that start off spoiled and end worse. TUFF Puppy is a clear example of what happens if the creator of a work stops working on directing an entertainment production, and leaves the trust to the development team who don't really understand the true essence of the show. This happened with SpongeBob and we already know the path this show took.
i remember i liked tuff puppy as a kid although i never anticipated the new episodes like i did for fairly oddparents or spongebob, whenever tuff puppy was on i had fun :)
4:15 Kitty being the world's punching bag was one of the things that was the most aggravating about the series, more so as it was rare for her to have a victory with no strings attached. She was one of many characters, such as Schnitzel from Chowder, Kyle from Fanboy and Chum Chum, Mr. Nesmith from Planet Sheen and. even eventually, Squidward from SpongeBob(And, to a lesser extent, Sandy) who was "That one character the show's universe hates, constantly beats down on and can never be happy all because the writers think it's funny." Even in one of the earlier episodes, Kitty mentioned that every single one of her birthdays had been ruined, which gave off disturbing Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends vibes. 8:40 The constantly repeated jokes were another one of the shows' main issues; the writers seemed to think that the jo0ke would be just as funny the 100th time as the first time for some reason. 18:54 Looking back at Dead or a Lie likewise, the Johnny Bravo episode Carl Not be Proud did this concept much better as Carl had a tendency to be a duplicitous character, whereas Dudley is supposed to be a likable character and it felt very out of character for him to act like this.
Major Word i can use for the show: *"a decent plus creative but sometimes a really obnoxious and painfully childish show"* 6:50 Oh,hello"Ollie Williams-like"Moose.
i was rewatching tuff puppy since i watched it as a kid, it's not particularly a good show, but this show has the craziest quality shifts episode to episode, even within the episode SEGMENTS.
Me calling TUFF Puppy a guilty pleasure was just like how I called something else underrated because it was something I kept thinking about until I finally let it out of my head.
I appreciate that at least half of this video is not dedicated to ranting about Butch Hartman, i say this not because im too fond of the guy but because i have seen that a lot and it's just tiring.
2:59 That voice is familiar, who is she? Grey Griffin, "Selina Kyle, Arcee, but she'll always be Carmelita Montoya Fox to me" , I said to myself Then the song that plays is from Sly Cooper, too fitting
T.U.F.F. Puppy hate is not allowed! This show is a masterpiece from a mostly bad era of Nicktoons. It can not be compared to Planet Sheen, Fanboy and Chum Chum, Sanjay & Craig, Breadwinners, Rabbids Invasions, or Pig Goat Banana Cricket. Many people missed out on this show because they were watching Regular Show and Adventure Time on Cartoon Network. My sister did not watch Cartoon Network but she would watch this show. Some people say Danny Phantom was a forgotten show, but barely anyone remembers T.U.F.F. Puppy and that is a shame!
Considering this show was my gateway to Jerry Trainor, I'll forever associate this show more with the era it was in (with Super Brawl 2 and Block Party 1) than much else. Also its message boards, a weird hub for Sly Cooper and Sonic fans.
I remember when this and Planet Sheen both came out; Ironically I was sure the Sheen spinoff would be the better of the two easily, but my opinion was reversed almost immediately. Unfortunately I never really liked either though, this was a very ruff time for Nickelodeon in general imo. I remember liking the first few episodes of Tuff Puppy before all the characters were flanderized and yelling every one of their lines, which I feel happened very very quickly. It was always just a show that was on while waiting for better shows
Jerry Trainers devoted vocal talent is the main draw for this show, even the character design is lacking, not as stylish or thought out as Bruces other shows
Personally I didn't mind T.U.F.F Puppy I didn't think it was good but I didn't mind it my favourite episode was Law and Odor I love the jabs at Atlantic City and the Stink Bug
This show to me just felt really shallow. I mean better comedies despite being comedies actually give you a reason to care. Spongebob, Simpsons, Ed Edd n Eddy each have memorable characters with their own motivations and the humor itself isn't that good either. It's another one of those comedy focused Nicktoons from around the same time period that was just focused on stupid humor and low effort laughs.
I liked Tuff Puppy but the show got bad in later seasons when the episodes became only about humor instead of action other than that, I liked this show.
2:14 What about The Loud House? It beat SpongeBob SquarePants in ratings in just its first month on the air, A Loud House Christmas was the most viewed Nick airing of 2021 getting more views then the premieres of both SpongeBob spin-offs, and soon it will be only the second show in NickToons history to reach 173 half hour episodes.
@@verzz Well right after that he said literally the only Nickelodeon series this century you could ever say that about, when The Loud House did indeed premiere in the 21st century.

Kitty Katswell is probably the only character who make this show have a Least...well,a public.(i think.)
Let's not mention the unnecessary amount of her in... diapers? The production team really let those colors shine through!

Two remembered about this show. Jerry Trainor and Kitty Katswell
3:22 *in B R A Z I L* (literally)
This is an underrated show, and besides, Spencer Shay carried that show just like iCarly
I like Tuff puppy. It was a show I would watch before heading out to school for the day.
I liked Dudley and Keswick best
I Love TUFF PUPPY My favorite cartoon show

Another weird TUFF memory- I remember thinking the Brady Bunch theme was from TUFF.
Kitty katswell was cool too to me^^
I loved the show, fight me. Especially Keswick.

Billy and mandy switched to widescreen in late 2006 in season 6 for pete sake

Yes!
And to be honest, Penguins of Madagascar was a better show
I’m not gonna lie tuff puppy was my favorite show I can’t lie I’m surprised not a lot of people liked it

@pooplicker2010*2018
Way better show than this garbage
I watched tuff puppy and enjoyed it. Not that bad for me and I laughed at most of the jokes.
I liked this show a lot, but the original is pretty underwhelming compared to the localised dub I grew up with.
Ah, Kitty… AKA Furry Starter Pack for that year
even as a kid i thought this show was bad
I don't think accents and stuttering is ableist and racist. It's just part of the fun.
Well the one thing I hate is that some people compare this garbage to CatDog and I hate it because CatDog is a better show way better
CatDog is too mean spirited
@caydenkamau8531 Tuff Puppy is so stupid every modern Nick show is like that
I hate that show as well as fanboy and chum chum the mighty b and barnyard
I didn't like this show.
