Danny Phantom died when Steve Marmel left the writer's room. Once Butch took over completely in the writing department in season 3, they completely stripped Danny of EVERYTHING that made it such a great show.
I disagree. Steve's vision may not have been executed exactly as he wanted, (he's made that clear) but he did say he wanted it to be a 'Batman/Superman: Public Enemies" parody. And you can really see that looking back. Plus, while I'm well aware of how messed up, to put it lightly, Butch is, all people are capable of good and bad. And if he's still good at one thing, it's that he can write a really good story. His solo work on this and "Fairly OddParents" is phenomenal, IMHO. Plus, I find no evidence of the whole "Sam vs Valerie/Darker vs Silly" rumor people say broke Butch and Steve up. It was Butch's fault, of course, but I think that's because he's cocky, wasted the money, particularly on "The Ultimate Enemy", and Nickelodeon cut the show to size. I mean, it seems obvious since the scripts were mostly written be Butch, Kevin Sulivan, or a freelancer. Working with half of the FOP crew, and almost none of the DP. But That's just how I see it. I could be wrong.
While I agree that Kitty's jacket doesn't go with Jazz's preppy style, It seems hinted at in the show that She's being influenced by ghost magic. The more things of Kitty's that she wears the more open she is to Johnny. She's also not the type of girl who'd drive around town on a motorcycle with someone she hardly knows or invites boys to hang out in her basement in the middle of the night while her parents are sleeping. Also as much as Jazz denies it, she's a kid, and trying new things simply because your crush encourages it, sounds so much like what a teenager would do. It's very much like, "I hate that kind of movie, but that cutie asked me to go see it with em, so hell yeah, I'm going!"
If the show ever gets a revival someday I’m hoping for a next but better Christmas special, it involves Danny giving Danielle a special first Christmas. Say the story takes place shortly after Danny introduces Danielle to his family and they adopt her as part of their family (as Butch Harrison planned if the show continued for a fourth season and so on), and like as Christmas is coming soon, Danny seeing Danielle becoming interested in learning about the holiday for the first time, Danny sees himself as kid again through her yearning for a Merry Christmas Day. And remembering how his Christmas was ruined for the first 13 years of his life due to his parents bickering over Santa’s existence, he plans to give Danielle her special first Christmas via setting up a party just for her with help from Sam, Jazz, Tucker along with their ghostly allies and their lesser evil foes, due to the Ghost Zone’s Christmas Truce. However, say Danny’s parents while going at it again with their bickering over Santa’s existence, spot Danny and friends with the ghosts and mistake it in believing that the ghosts have them under mind control and they try to “save” them but they end up destroying Danny’s surprise party for Danielle. When that happens Danny would express his disappointment in his parents for letting their negative view on ghosts ruin the party, explain why the ghosts were involved, and reasons he didn’t include them in it. After that Danny would leave sad and disappointed that he worked hard to give Danielle a Merry first Christmas but his parents end up ruining it, just as they ruined his Christmas as kid ages ago, while Danielle, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz accompany him to comfort him over the situation. But not while Jazz would stop to scold her parents like, “Nice going you two. At least Danny learned to change last Christmas. But you guys barely learn anything.” After that Maddie and Jack coming to realize that they’ve been poor parents every Christmas to Danny for the first 13 years of his life, decide to start becoming better parents for him, Jazz and Danielle. As such they make up to the ghost allies and foes of Danny and they fix up the party and surprise Danny, Danielle, and Jazz together. After that Danny’s parents reconcile with him, Danielle, and Jazz and apologize for messing up and they start to give them a Christmas they’ll never forget and they start to change their view on all ghosts. It would be say a way for Danny to finally get closure for losing Christmas from his childhood. It would be also funny yet sweet say the story, for said holiday special, ends like: Dani Phantom: (hugs Danny) Thanks, big bro. This has been the best first Christmas ever. Danny Phantom: (hugs her) Aw, well, it was no biggie Danielle. Besides, I should really thank you for ‘cause seeing you happy as a kid in this time of the year, I feel I just got back all those lost Christmas years from my childhood. Unlike two certain people I know who couldn’t think about saving their less than important bickering over Santa being real or not either for another time when it's not a holiday. (He, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, and everyone else turn to Jack and Maddie with stern faces leaving them rather embarrassed and guilty) Jack and Maddie: (sheepishly embarrassed chuckle) Maddie: (in shame) We totally deserve that. Jack: (in shame) Yeah, yes we do. But again we’re so sorry son. Maddie: Yes, from now on. We’re holding off our bickering for another time when it’s not a holiday. For you, Jazz, and the newest member of our family. Plus, be a little sweet say Danielle set up a Christmas surprise for Danny and Sam say she gets them under a mistletoe and have them share a kiss under it on their first year as a dating couple.
A few other things I would like should a revival ever happen would be not only Danielle get adopted into Danny’s family and become part of his team, but also have Danny learn to adapt to living his non-secret double life after the Season 3 finale, have his parents learn to change their viewpoints on ghost not just because of him but also after being introduced to Danielle and adopting her as part of their family, have Sam develop some better character development say another episode where her somewhat hypocritical actions gets Danny into trouble again only this time it puts his lifeline at stake and she’s his only hope at saving his life. Then after resolving the matter she finally let’s go of her pride via finally admitting her faults, give Danny a much more proper apology, and learn to become a much better at being a friend and girlfriend for Danny. Also would like say for a new season for the show, they have the Guys in White serves as the main antagonistic faction of the new season say they still maintain their hostile view on Danny but since he became a public hero, they can’t hunt him legally anymore otherwise they risk giving themselves a bad reputation so they try to secretly still hunt him via secret illegal means, making it Danny and his pals objective at bringing them down for good.
I like Danny Phantom it was one of my favourite shows as a kid and I still like it and I think the first two seasons were the best but sadly it went downhill in season 3 because of one the writers left and they were given lower budget because of over spending and it hurt the show and the ending was okay it was very rushed and even with all that I still don’t think season 3 is awful it’s good but not as good as the previous seasons and I like would to see a reboot or a continuation of it with a updated art style and clearer animation and having it set in the modern day and having more modern technology in the show but without the current day politics and social issues it should stay a fun superhero show and if Nickelodeon reboots it they should do it without the creator because he has too many controversies and can’t shut up they should bring back to head writer and let him run the show
To all Phantom fans who still hope to see Danny and his pals returns for a revival continuation of the series help further chances via signing and sharing out the “Bring Back Danny Phantom” petition now. Just avoid the donating part.
I know there's the novel "A Glitch in Time" but tbh I'm not rather pleased on how it ended. Especially, since Danielle was left out and she hasn't become part of Danny's family and team yet. And the novel and its upcoming sequel's storylines currently remain debatable if they're officially canon or non-canon to the show's continuity due to a continuity error in the first novel's callback to the Season 3 finale events.
@@thomaskinlaw8063 You and me both, buddy. Danny and Ember dominated the fan fiction world-There are sime pretty enjoyable fan fics between the two out there.
I actually really like the idea of Danny dating a ghost. I wish he had gotten close to just as many ghost characters as he did human ones. I feel like there are a lot of story opportunities that would come with Danny having a ghost girlfriend - How do they find the time and place to hang out or go on dates, since she wouldn't go to his school and ghosts have a hard time being out in public? - How would they hide the relationship from his parents since they clearly wouldn't support it, maybe an episode where they do find out Danny's fallen for a ghost and what their reactions would be? - How do they deal with their differences being from two totally different backgrounds? There are so many ideas you could play around with.
I would always get up in the morning to watch Danny, Avatar, Making Fiends, ChalkZone, and others that were under appreciated in the 2000’s. Sadly, I fell asleep at school and LOST that privilege, but it was worth it all the same!
I don't care what anyone says I love Danny phantom even season 3 its one of my favorite shows and makes me so happy and honestly I love every episode the only episode I don't like is living large but other than that I love it and season 3
i agree that danny phantom has its flaws, but it seems like on some of the points you brought up you just plain missed what the show was shooting for, maybe that is a fault of bad writing or something, but... ... Though, Season 3 was the one with the most flaws and i refuse to believe that Phantom Planet takes place in the same universe as the rest of the show
Funny thing is, Eye For An Eye is perhaps the most Steve Marmel feeling of all the episodes in season 3 even though the episode is written by another writer, the former did come up with the story. I mean his Twitter and Facebook page is littered with political satire. Although I do feel that it is rather neutered because it's a kids cartoon. Also, Mech X-4 is a good show which was also created by Steve Marmel. Although I think it would be better off as an animated show rather than live action.
@@Brewart2012 It's meh. Steve Marmel is the kind of guy that you want to hire if you want to include comedic elements without overwhelming the plot. He's not as strong at purely comedic writing ala Sonny with a Chance and So Random and he's even worse at trying to accommodate his humour with somebody that has a different sense of humour than his, which is why Smosh the movie is easily the worst thing he has ever written.

3:40 Promising yet unfulfilling, reminds me of Victorious. There's so many fans that are fans despite disliking a lot of episodes. They wanted it to be better.
Looking back on Danny Phantom, Sam's character and personality often made the whole thing unwatchable at times; especially with the finale. Her always claiming she's standing up against conformity often seemed hypocritical, considering how she herself is almost always forcing people to bend to HER interests (ex. changing the school's lunch menu entirely instead of just...y'know, making a secondary menu selection.) It certainly doesn't help that due to the stuff revealed about Butch, the sexist elements are blatantly noticeable now. I'd like ONE action show out there to have a protagonist that isn't as dumb as a sack of diapers and the supporting female cast are the ones actually running things
Vlad was a grey area guy in Seasons 1 and 2.He was wrong about Maddie but completely right about Jack's irresponsibility and negligence , lack of empathy , stupidity , literally everything. And in season 3 he was executed the poorest way possible. He deserved to heal from his infatuation with Maddie and evolve into a healthier individual.
Yeah I'll put danny over fairly odd parents both shows are good but I give the edge to Danny for more action darker and serious tone especially in season 2
Something promising in season three was building up more lore between the human world and the Ghost Zone, in that both were structurally intertwined dimensions. This allowed stakes to be raised (Living Large for example, where the Guys in White blowing up the Ghost Zone would destabilise the human world) while giving more to work with by viewers in terms of the nature of the ghosts without delving into murky waters with religion and afterlife beliefs. Claw of the Wild, the last non-event episode, did bring back a season one character and touched back on an interesting thing in that humans in the Ghost Zone were intangible to Ghost Zone constructs. The dwindling party trope with campers vanishing added to the horror vibe, which was that of a kid friendly Friday the 13th before the reveal. The reveal could have come for when the characters learn it, and the shipping angle is obvious.
