Hey everyone! I was gonna do the usual “hey, what do you think?” comment, but y’all are coming through with awesome comments already! Love the discussion on these two amazing TVs. And also digging your choices for movies/scenes to show off TV performance. Should I consider doing a video on best movies/scenes to test/show-off your TV? That might be a nightmare to skirt copyright flags, but I’d at least consider it if demand were high enough.
True, 1400 bucks more but how much would LG G2 stand cost? I cannot wall mount for various reason so that would set me back. Personally, I will wait for QD OLED in 75', it's going to be a loooong year.
This was definitely a comparison I was waiting for. Love the honesty about splitting hairs and how close these TVs are. I can't wait for 2nd and 3rd gen qd-oled
Personally, I'm looking at the LG B2 Series for my next TV. The G2 might be a little better in some areas, but not a thousand dollars better, in my opinion.
I bought the A80J Christmas 2021 and I use it with my series x and to watch movies. I absolutely love it! I am a loyal Sony TV customer. Other TVs look to punchy with their gamma and colors to me. But LG is really good too!
REALLY helpful comparison. I was worried I was going to be missing out in choosing g2 over a95k, but I think you’re right that it’s not 1400 dollars better. I’ll wait on the comparison to the s95B though!!!
I think what ultimately will be the deciding factor, is the price for 90% of people. Sony definitely has better image processing and overall quality, but you end up paying a lot for it. I'd get the A90J which is last year's model. Even the A80J is an amazing TV. That said, LG's C1 series is cheaper and won't be a big step down in terms of picture quality.
Better image processing n overall quality? Caleb said they r neck n neck in motion n upscaling. I do believe qd oled is still better but its way too overpriced with too many compromises. S95b takes it easily
@@anuzahyder7185 What I meant is that out of the box, with no calibration or tweaking whatsoever, Sony probably shines more than LG. Realistically, most people won't get their tv professionally calibrated.
Thanks for the excellent overview Caleb. I've been a Sony fan... have owneed two in the past and they've been great. It's hard not to be impressed by the A95K, but $1,400 is a big difference. I'll give the LG G2 serious consideration after watching this. Thanks again!
@@bramdesmet8411 This is true, but by that time, the G2 would have also dropped as it already has, and the price difference even with the A95K dropping in price would still be huge, putting a person right back to where we’re starting in the price convo now.
@@anuzahyder7185 A90J is not really expensive anymore and have been cheap many times. Sony is milking their customers mostly yeah. They use dated SoCs and Wifi + gimps connectivity (low amount of HDMI 2.1 ports among other things). Just sad that Sony uses old tech when LG and Samsung can do it; 4x HDMI 2.1, WiFi6 or better. Sony tax is really not worth it in most cases. And the gaming performance on sony is mediocre, highest input lag of all and no gaming osd.
Nailed it Caleb! 100% spot on… For me.. the exemplary color performance on the 95K is huge and not a small difference compared with the best WOLED’s, but the size limitations and cost on the 95K maybe a deal killer for many. Like I said before, can’t wait for larger sizes of this TV! “The Best” is almost always disproportionately more $… BTW, agree 100%, a G Series looks beautiful when wall mounted, it really does!
Thanks man, that actually showed in the side by side shots how great both TV's are and how close the race between the two technologies is. To me looking to upgrade from a 65" LG C9 the 77" LG G2 is the no brainer choice. The larger size is what is really going to be the big upgrade for me and while we wait for QD-OLED to come in larger sizes at a more affordable price the WOLED is far from dead yet. LG can keep the stand though,i will be making my own arrangements there.
I went from a 77 inch C9 to a 77inch G2. The C9 is a bad ass TV but the G2 is on another level. I have mine mounted on the wall. It's a gorgeous TV. Gaming looks flawless. Movies look breath taken. I didn't really see a difference with the Sony A95k.
@@BallSoHard78 true, and with lg g3 you get more brightness and also better deep colors. because the mla panel. it dont filter the colors anymore with white subpixel
Love how Polyphia always gets a bit of screen time haha, started saving up for the LG C1, then I moved onto the C2, now I’m focused on the G2, who knows what I’ll want to go for when I actually have nearly 2 grand saved up haha, thanks for the solid review as always!
@@mach1one my first oled was a c1 and it's amazing tv and qd oled isn't everything. The QN90a 65 and above look great. The b model is even better then the a model. But I'm team oled
Caleb, you continue to deliver brilliant reviews as awlays! I really like the authenticity in this video and how you approach each TV and each area of comparison. I am reaching the 10-year mark of the then flagship 55" Sony TV, and my hubbie and I are on the lookout for its replacement. Although an avid SONY image quality fan, I must say that we are fond of the G2 as well .... decisions, decisions, decisions...until then, sending you super-duper heatwave greetings from the awesome island of Mykonos in 🇬🇷👍🏼 🏖️☀️🏝️
I ended up getting the G2 77 simply because of the size. It was still cheaper than a 65 inch A95K. Even Vincent says bigger is better. This is absolutely no knock on the A95K of course but getting 98% of the performance for a $1000 dollars is enough justification to go with LG like you said. We're in a very great competitive environment though. No matter which of the 3 super premium TVs you end up with, you'll be happy, which is fantastic.
In most areas of the world G2 77 inch is more expensive than A95K 65 inch, which is overpriced just like S95B because stock is low on both and demand is high. In a few months they will drop 20% or more, as always. New TVs are always overpriced as hell. You could have bought G1 77 inch for almost half the price of G2 and still gotten 98% of the image quality too tho... G1 also had OLED Evo panel and I have seen both side by side in 65 inch, pretty much zero difference. WOLED can't really be improved more at this point. LG should lower prices ASAP or they will get in trouble when QD-OLED comes in 75+ inches next year. I have 2x WOLED in house, 55C9 + 65G1 and I want a QD-OLED next for sure, when I can get it in 75-77 inch. LG display did not really do much to WOLED since 2019 models TBH... My C9 looks almost identical to my G1 and I have seen C1 + C2 + G2 too.. Time for a price drop for WOLED across the board IMO..
@@lort6022 I had a 55C1.. was left disappointed & just took it back, despite it's low price of £899, because it turned out to be dimmer & less impactful than my 5yr old C7 in hdr movie content! Mine didn't have the Evo panel, and so the only thing I noticed an improvement was in shadow detail & motion. Really hoping the C2 (with EX panel) or even the C3 will present a bigger improvement.
Indeed....i use mine as a computer monitor as well as gaming and tv....and its fantastic so ill wait till something extraordinary comes out to make the change...maybe the Samsung Odyssey Ark 55" perhaps
I use STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE to test my TV's. Wonder how those deep space blacks would work on a QD-OLED in a room with lights? With that bluish screen? Currently use a Z9J and A80J.
Great - Great - Great review.... I think you touched on most points for each. I happened to have selected the LG G2 over the Sony A95K....but for different reasons. First for me, the size was a big reason I selected the LG G2. I needed & wanted a 83" inch television. I had a Samsung 78" - and was not about to go with the Sony who only produces a 55" or 65" QD-Oled models. I realize this the maximum panel sizes at this time - that next year maybe different...but I needed to get a model this year because my Samsung panel was going bad on me after less than 5 years. The other reasons I went with the G2 was the 5 year warranty on the panels and the wall mount. I have only had the G2 a few month....but really like the picture quality and options the tv provided. Thanks again for your GREAT review...look forward more in the future.
I’m considering purchasing the G2 as I really want that panel but I have the socket high up in the wall it’s not resessed. With the included wall mount for the G2 will that work for me. I know it will not be completely wall flush when hung but I’d like to know it will work
I have been looking forward to finally a video like this! I have been comparing these 2 TVs for a long time (since the qd oleds were announced). I have already chosen a LG G2 77-inches but I appreciate the nuance in the video. Thanks
I would say I am somewhat irrationally worried about this non-black issue with the qd oled and have always been amazed by how great the glossy on LG oleds have looked over the years. I think the glossy aspect has maybe been somewhat overlooked in that discussion, it’s a huge selling point for me
Another I think could have been pointed out and was a big criteria for me is that we don’t know how yet durable and reliable qd oleds are because they’re a new technology, whereas LG oleds have been here for a long time and they have had time to figure this stuff out
I think it’s a realistic comparison and canceled out a lot of the negative noise in the background that people have for either choice. I want the A95K, better remote, superior stand which I will need, more than enough gaming capabilities and better onboard sound. The picture processing and colour capabilities have me more convinced at this time. For a tv that I will have for years I’m prepared to pay more for what seems like a better quality package. Both are awesome but these are my thoughts on why the Sony is the one. Excited to get one.
As an LG CX owner, it's hard for me not feel a little bit jealous of the Sony. :) Perhaps in a few years as my TV feels long in the tooth and QD-OLED matures it might make sense to upgrade. It's generally exciting to see this new tech delivering a noticeable improvement.
I bought the LG G2 65. Started my 4k collection with: 1917, Hacksaw Ridge, Interstellar, The Revenant, John Wick 1-3, batman dark knight trilogy, and the James Bond craig series, im completely blown away!!!
I felt that LG did mean work on the G2 to stay competitive. That thought plus the size and other benefits are why I chose this over Sony. Love competition as we consumers always win! Also looking forward for the new QDOLED to mature over the years for me to upgrade down the line 😉
VC777… you are seeing this exactly the same way I am. I’ll take that 10yrs experience and 5yr panel warranty today and look to QD in the future. 100% agree with your conclusion.
Same here. Flush wall mounting my G2 today and will enjoy it for the next couple years while QD OLED mature. Then when it's time to upgrade, there should be a ton of options and sizes available, and it'll feel like a substantial upgrade.
Caleb Denison, I just want to say that I love your videos! Thank you for making them accessible and interesting. I'm torn between the G2 and A95K. Something tells me I should take the best of the WOLED and use it until the best of the QD-OLED comes out in 10 years time.
Probably the best 2 TV's this year. The Samsung QD OLED might be in the mix too. Too bad we don't get the awesome Panasonic OLED TV'S in the USA. I've heard they are exceptional in picture quality.
9.34 in and before you talk about picture quality you have already chosen the Sony, enough for me, off to the shops to buy one......Also a premium video by a premium channel, great work !!!
As good as the A95K is it being $4K vs. $2.8K for the G2 is the issue. Would like to see the S95B thrown in the mix which is currently the same price as the G2.
S95B is slightly faster and has more pop because it's brighter with better color. LG 1ups it by having Dolby Vision game mode. To me the HDR presentation just looks better on the Samsung but LG ticks all the boxes.
Why is it you never mention that all those buttons you constantly complain about on the LG Remote are actually hot keys? Making the remote very customizable and flexible, unlike other TV remotes and you don't even need to use those buttons, you can simply use the Click Wheel,, or the 4 buttonsat the bottom of the remote. All the complaints reviewers make about the LG Remote is just stupid. It's one of the most flexible TV remotes you can get with numerous ways to use it. My fear is the LG is going to eventually listen to people like you and eventually give us an awful redesign next year.
I really don't get the hate for lg controllers. They feel great in the hand. Have custom hot swaps. A cursor thing. Like what people are just being to picky
I hate that LG don't have Play/Stop button. Or maybe I didn't found it. I used Sony for years and I like sony's remote more. It looks and feels more modern then LG.
Fantastic job as always. I just subscribed. I would like to see a comparison between the s95b and the G2. I hope that the video comes out soon. I think the Sony is just too far out of reach for the price points.
I absolutely love your vidoes, accurate information with being direct and to the point. Very happy I followed this channel, quality content. Just a suggestion, I love the way you talk to the camera and make it feel like you are actually talking to me, but you come off a little cold. Wear something more comfortable and feel more relaxed will do wonders.
Hi Caleb, I find your reviews very handy and useful, specially when deciding between 2 o or more options, like in this case. Please, I really will appreciate if you can make a video for the 75" TLC Q747 Mini led, Wich I've read it's one of the best (if not the best) tv for it's value in 2022 even compared with high end models from others brands. Once again, thanks a lot, you do an excellent job! 👌
I was surprised to hear you say the G2 has a higher APL, and not surprised at all to hear the a95k pushed more color volume. I would have thought the QD OLED panel would have been brighter in all regards.
I think i go for the lg g3 mla this year. dont like the qd oled samsung s90c. trash software. it will be same brightness and colors as qd oled i think.
@@AndrasMihalyi sony a bit better processing for movies. For gaming lg and samsung qd oled the best. Its not worth the 1500 euro more. And only 2 hdmi 2.1 ports its scandalous
Got the 77 inch c1. I have no complaints with it. It will hold me over for at least 5 years. Which should be enough time to allow more refinement and new tech to come out . Can't help but wonder if LG has held back progress, when there was no competition.
I look forward to investing in the pure color of the new QD-OLED panels. However, I might actually wait until 2023 QD-OLED models are introduced before making a decision. I'd like to see if the technology is even better implemented in another year, as well as what sort of discount might be offered on the 2022 A95K. (The current price on the Sony is pretty steep I admit...) At this point we're not that far from Black Friday sales, so it will be interesting to find out how prices on the LG G2 and the Sony A95K will compare by then. The LG G2, the Sony A95K, and the Samsung S95B all seem to be great TVs, and it may be a while before I get beyond "analysis paralysis" when choosing among these 3 models.
I bought the A80J last December and was not disappointed. Beautiful picture and the sound, without a sound bar, will make you take notice. Even if I had waited a year I would still get the Sony QD OLED. In my book it’s either Sony or go home empty handed.
Bought the Same TV 65" on Black Friday and yes great TV. Best ever owned.. QD-OLED might be nice but it is 1st Gen and don't think there is a big of difference as you think.. Brightness is the biggest Difference I seen in person..
I still find the bluish tint in the whites on the WRGB OLED to be bothersome, such as at the scene at 13:51. It's ironic that the TV with white light driving it has a bluish tint, and the TV with a blue light driving has more pure white. I have not seen these side-by-side in-person but individually they are both stellar. I think I would prefer the color brightness of the QD-OLED, but if I were buying one of these today, I would go G2. LG has gotten way better at its processing where Sony is no longer blowing the competition away; (4) 2.1 ports; I think the gaming hub seems useful; and $1,400 cheaper. Besides 65" is the largest size the QD-OLED from Sony and Samsung. If Sony added the much need two more 2.1 ports and dropped the price by $700, then I'd go Sony all day. I'll pay the Sony tax to a degree, but how does the biggest console manufacturer, and the company that prides itself on the best image still not have (4) 2.1 ports?!?!?!?
Assuming you already use Expert1, you can still get the set calibrated and have the calibrator move it to D65 where it whites wont appear blue. Myself, I prefer cool white over warm white, so on my Z9J I had to use the Normal color setting to match the OLED.
Blue tint on WRGB OLEDs is actually a common thing...even after calibrating to D65. I am not saying yours aren't white, but it's subtle until next to pure white. Even in this video, Caleb always calibrates to D65 and the G2 still looks bluish next to the A95K.
I know this is going into the minutia, but it would be interesting to see which ATSC 3.0 tuner in the televisions is better, since I am a cord-cutter. Simple test, see how well they pick-up local stations in the area and how many.
I think next year or whenever they produce more sizes WRGB will be left in the dust. LG sells that tech and this G2 if you need a TV right now is the finest rendition but may be it's ultimate effort. Samsung sells the QD-OLED panels which Sony and Alienware chose over WRGB. QD-OLED is the way to go in the coming years but for those who want something other than 55 or 65in waiting one more year or so to live with next gen TV tech may be the smarter move plus it will force the current market to reconsider their pricing if we collectively wait. $1400 extra is a lot. LG's crown on OLED is hanging on for the moment but has already lost in color luminance. What a great time to be a tech enthusiast!
Wow, and I just got the LG B2 OLED which has killer reviews and I couldn't be happier. The picture is beyond anything I have ever seen before. And for $2000, for 65".
I picked up a 77 G2 for less than a 65 A95K at BestBuy. A larger size TV with 99% of the performance of its competitor for a fraction of the price is just too hard to beat. Even though they weren't standing right next to each other I could hardly tell the difference between the A95K and the G2 on display. The included mount was a big selling feature for me as well since I want to mount my soundbar and this will make it so my Arc will be perfectly positioned in front of the TV while still being very secure on its fixed mount.
The G2 has a heat sink, higher brightness (average picture level) higher peak brightness L, better sound system, but is meant to be wall mounted unless you buy a desperate stand. The G2 has a 5 year warranty I believe too, and is the Woled flagship model. I wish I'd bought the G2 instead of the C2 but I needed a smaller size than it came in. If you are spending a lot on a TV I'd go G2 if I had chance again, as the heatsink can help panel longevity, mitigate the ASBL and ABL, and less chance of burn in theoretically due to better thermal management/ heat dissipation.
Just be aware that the claimed brightness increase of C2/G2 is for 55 inch+ models. I think the lesser sizes do have a bit of brightness increase vs. last year's C1/G1 but not the quoted 30%. I didn't realise until it was too late but at least got the evo panel model which uses Deuterium as a more stable organic compound leading to better longevity, and possibly less burn in.
I decided to get the S95B and the A95K over the G2 because of the color brightness makes it a better choice for me and the S95B’s brightness is also very high those are the 2 TVs I bought
@@animals7473 my living room and bedroom is very bright during the day and that extra color brightness does the trick and those 2 TVs are the best in my opinion especially the S95B being able to overcome the brightness in my living space, it works for me

Finally, a video that makes sense you don't have to be nervous that's the video that everyone has been waiting for, yes the video is super late, but finally it's here, and I would use Venom 2 for showcase purposes for sound and picture quality if I would have to show the TV. 😁
I just wall-mounted the Sony Bravia X80K 85 inch TV. I sit about 12 feet from the screen in the primary viewing location and I have to tell you this thing is absolutely crystal clear and beautiful and my vision isn’t the greatest. I had a Sony Bravia 65” on a stand there for 10 years and it’s now in the master bedroom because it’s still going strong which is why i went with Sony again. Anyway, I don’t even have my surround system set up yet and even the sound is phenomenal from this thing. Not a lot of bass, but still very crisp and clear sound. That’s just my take on this particular TV so hopefully that’ll help somebody. Cheers, great video!
Great video comparison. For me the G2 is the best choice for me. It's cheaper, better for gaming , very good for movies and shows. Plus It's best for wall mounting
I'm sure the Sony A95K is phenomenal but I'd take the LG G2 because of the bigger sizes I can get it in and it has more range/flexibility within it's features.
@@davidcalci974 Cheers to you, bro 🍻. What size is your TV? Being that you have the LG G2 and know first hand about its great features, if the Sony A95k came in the same size as your G2 would you have purchased that instead?

Get the S95B for sure. It blows LG OLED away in gaming, it looks and feels like twice the brightness and colors are just insanely vivid on the S95B. I have tried BOTH side by side in my local store, with 4k bluray, ps5 and some youtube - S95B won't it all however in some stuff G2 is close but I would never pick the G2 if price is close. G2 has to be 20% cheaper to even consider.
Great video as always! I'd love to have your thoughts on the Sony A90J vs the LG G2, in the UK/Europe I believe it's staying on for another year. And price wise it sits with the G2, does the A90Js heat sync stand up to LGs
I just picked up a 77 inch G2 on about 45% off :D Love this timing when the G3s are coming. We have a house just completing build and I knew my 55 inch 8 year old TV would not be a good enough size for the living space.
Because both these TVs are great in every way, I’m focused on upscaling as my determine factor when making a purchase decision. In the past you’ve claimed that Sony is far and away the best at upscaling. In this episode you’re saying it’s a draw. Really? LG has caught up to Sony’s processing power?
With the way the quality of TV panels have improved, I believe that the projected theater image can longer compete. You review shows just how far it has gotten with the quality of the image. I just read a review about how TV panels can expose the limitations of digital effects in films that projection can't. Who knew TV would finally give a better image than the movies.
@@Pedders529 How so? I own the S95B (firmware 1204) which is brighter than the G2 and also beats it in color volume. Not sure about the A95K with color but some publications have stated that the S95B is just a tad brighter than the A95K.
The sensible buy is G2, not only it's much cheaper but elegant style that you can hang it on your wall and picture quality wise, I would say is about the same, Caleb did admit that it's noticeably brighter, which came as a shock at most ppl thought QD-OLED would be brighter than LG OLEDs.
A95K and S95B beats G2 in some HDR scenes but what you get with QD-OLED is not just light, it's COLOR BRIGHTNESS, something WOLED lacks, the white subpixel is drowning the colors as a result in high brightness scenes and hdr highligts. QD-OLED is for sure the better option. I have seen A95K, S95B and G2 side by side and S95B amazed me the most overall with gaming included. A95K is really not that good for gaming in comparison. G2 is still a great TV but should be cheaper than the others for sure, or it makes no sense. What LG needs to do, is find a way to up the color brightness or they will get in trouble in the coming years. More white light is not going to help them, they need COLOR BRIGHTNESS. QD-OLED has 2-3 times the color brightness of WOLED and it shows.
I really have to hand it to you Caleb - you’ve honed your craft with these kinds of videos over a long period of time and you’re very near, if not in fact at, the top of your game. It’s not easy to do what you do and you richly deserve to arrive at 1M subs (which I’m sure will happen very soon). Bracketed by Vincent Teoh, at one extreme, and, say, the RTINGs staff at another, you’re (IMO) among the very best at what you do: make the media tech. decision tree clear, palatable and understandable to everyone from the casual viewer, to the avid gamer to the imaging enthusiast. You ably address the fattest part of the market for this content type and you consistently do it with aplomb. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Great review Caleb! For the money, I think the LG Oleds are still the OLED to buy in 2022. Samsung is going to be ultra competitive though and if they ever adopt dolby vision, watch out!
They will never adopt dolby vision. The whole debacle of creating hdr10+ and making it royalty free was to avoid paying dolby any money. It's kind of a gamble; it may work or it may not, but if I were to say, it's highly unlikely that dolby will be outmatched in near future.
LG G2 all the way. I'm a gamer and love using my tv for movies so i prefer the better gaming aspect far more then anything. And so far LG has not disappointed med. I got G1 right now. They deliver firmware fast and consistent which is not a case with Sony from what i read.
Hi Caleb! I really enjoy and appreciate your videos on these topics. I've been considering between these two TVs, and here's a question you didn't address - for the exact same money, you can get a 77" G2 or a 65" A95K - for watching movies (many/mostly HDR) in a dark room, which would you prefer? Typical 8 foot-ish viewing distance from couch to wall.
Still rocking our 2013 Panasonic Viera VT. We had a first moment of, "Oh crap, do we need a new TV?" when the Netflix app just started to activate with no prompts over and over. Factory reset seems to have done the trick, but I'm starting down the replacement TV rabbit home. Main need is screen reflection because even with blinds the living room is bright enough that we see ourselves and our window treatments over the picture image during the day, not completely unwatchable, but certainly not great. Would like the G2, but cannot wall mount because of room setup. But don't want another just because it comes with a stand.
Is the sony processor noticeably better than the the LG. I especially like sports and action movies. I would like to get the g2 but don't want to sell myself short with the processing!
QD-Oled without polarize filter will not look inky black as Woled when light hits on the display surface. At least for my eye sensitivity it's more important than wider colour volume on QD-Display in term of viewing experience especially 21:9 content.

TVs have been getting better and better that its coming down to price and size options, excellent video Caleb, really enjoy your work.!!
For the vast majority of people, there really isn't much of a difference between the various 2021 and 2022 OLEDs from both Sony and LG.
Better image processing n overall quality? Caleb said they r neck n neck in motion n upscaling. I do believe qd oled is still better but its way too overpriced with too many compromises. S95b takes it easily
I've been sorely tempted by the A80J in recent weeks since the 55" is discounted to $999. Is it worth it?
@@anuzahyder7185 What I meant is that out of the box, with no calibration or tweaking whatsoever, Sony probably shines more than LG. Realistically, most people won't get their tv professionally calibrated.
@@LoveStallion at that price, absolutley! Unless you watch TV in direct sunlight, the A80J is plenty bright!
Thanks for the excellent overview Caleb. I've been a Sony fan... have owneed two in the past and they've been great. It's hard not to be impressed by the A95K, but $1,400 is a big difference. I'll give the LG G2 serious consideration after watching this. Thanks again!
Give it some time . The TV will go down in price.
@@bramdesmet8411 not much. A90j is still expensive. This is sony.
100% spot on…
For me.. the exemplary color performance on the 95K is huge and not a small difference compared with the best WOLED’s, but the size limitations and cost on the 95K maybe a deal killer for many.

Caleb, you continue to deliver brilliant reviews as awlays! I really like the authenticity in this video and how you approach each TV and each area of comparison. I am reaching the 10-year mark of the then flagship 55" Sony TV, and my hubbie and I are on the lookout for its replacement. Although an avid SONY image quality fan, I must say that we are fond of the G2 as well .... decisions, decisions, decisions...until then, sending you super-duper heatwave greetings from the awesome island of Mykonos in 🇬🇷👍🏼 🏖️☀️🏝️
My Uncle Ned said if a tv is worth dying for it's worth crying for
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆

I use STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE to test my TV's. Wonder how those deep space blacks would work on a QD-OLED in a room with lights? With that bluish screen? Currently use a Z9J and A80J.
I’ve used a bunch of space movies in similar settings and never felt the blacks were blue-ish.
Looks like perfect blacks
Why would you ever watch a film with the lights on? Sacrilege!
Not often I sub to channels about this kind of stuff, but this was just so well explained.
I know it will not be completely wall flush when hung but I’d like to know it will work
Have the LG C1 65 and just love it
I have been looking forward to finally a video like this!
The LG is a better screen Honestly.

As an LG CX owner, it's hard for me not feel a little bit jealous of the Sony. :) Perhaps in a few years as my TV feels long in the tooth and QD-OLED matures it might make sense to upgrade. It's generally exciting to see this new tech delivering a noticeable improvement.
QD-OLED is pretty much mature or they would not be selling it. They have been testing for years in labs.

However A80J is NOT a QD-OLED.
"Unless you get this stuck in your head" is the best thing in this video. Honestly, we should all just be focused on price at this point.
There's zero blue tint on my WOLED when calibrated to my liking. White is pure white. You just need to use the correct color temp.
Blue tint on WRGB OLEDs is actually a common thing...even after calibrating to D65. I am not saying yours aren't white, but it's subtle until next to pure white. Even in this video, Caleb always calibrates to D65 and the G2 still looks bluish next to the A95K.
ez fix get both;) That is what i did. 83" G2 for the living room and 55" A95k for the bedroom. (i'm still waiting for the A95K tho...)

Still rocking the B6… best tv I’ve ever owned.
As someone who owns a lg C9 and the alienware qd oled monitor, the differences between btw the two are minimal. Minimal!!
The included mount was a big selling feature for me as well since I want to mount my soundbar and this will make it so my Arc will be perfectly positioned in front of the TV while still being very secure on its fixed mount.
whats the difference between G2 and C2?

I have tried BOTH side by side in my local store, with 4k bluray, ps5 and some youtube - S95B won't it all however in some stuff G2 is close but I would never pick the G2 if price is close. G2 has to be 20% cheaper to even consider.
great job, appreciate the review/comparison.
Great video as always! I'd love to have your thoughts on the Sony A90J vs the LG G2, in the UK/Europe I believe it's staying on for another year.
And price wise it sits with the G2, does the A90Js heat sync stand up to LGs
I bought G2 and it’s absolutely incredible. Picture feels like it can’t get better. Amazing detail and motion.
I just picked up a 77 inch G2 on about 45% off :D Love this timing when the G3s are coming. We have a house just completing build and I knew my 55 inch 8 year old TV would not be a good enough size for the living space.
@Digital Trends @Caleb Denison When is the Sony A80K review coming?
Because both these TVs are great in every way, I’m focused on upscaling as my determine factor when making a purchase decision. In the past you’ve claimed that Sony is far and away the best at upscaling. In this episode you’re saying it’s a draw. Really? LG has caught up to Sony’s processing power?
Hands down the best tech reviewer on UA-cam!
MKBHD looking kinda pale these days.
Really, prjoceted image of laser projector, 150" screen?
Great job!! I cant wait for the next video!
I think that color washout at off axis angles should have been addressed. QD OLED is clearly superior to WOLED.
True
Sony will discontinue WOLED panel buying from LG Display next few years
I own the LG G2 and it’s amazing.
Would like to see the Samsung S95B joining the competition too
Prepare for disappointment
@@Pedders529 How so? I own the S95B (firmware 1204) which is brighter than the G2 and also beats it in color volume. Not sure about the A95K with color but some publications have stated that the S95B is just a tad brighter than the A95K.
The sensible buy is G2, not only it's much cheaper but elegant style that you can hang it on your wall and picture quality wise, I would say is about the same, Caleb did admit that it's noticeably brighter, which came as a shock at most ppl thought QD-OLED would be brighter than LG OLEDs.
It's brighter in SDR not in HDR where A95K shines QD OLED still brighter than G2 OLED
Bravo! 👏👏👏

Great review! Love your videos… 😀
Same can be said for Samsung's Tizen OS
Good comparison. Caleb, thanks for not yelling.
LG G2 all the way. I'm a gamer and love using my tv for movies so i prefer the better gaming aspect far more then anything. And so far LG has not disappointed med. I got G1 right now. They deliver firmware fast and consistent which is not a case with Sony from what i read.

Your reviews are very good.
Also, I'm not a gamer at all so that isn't a factor.
Awesome review as always
Sadly the G2 shared the same price as A95k in HK. So no doubts that I pick A95k
Agree. Much easier choice if same price point.
Sony 66” and LG 77”
Still rocking our 2013 Panasonic Viera VT. We had a first moment of, "Oh crap, do we need a new TV?" when the Netflix app just started to activate with no prompts over and over. Factory reset seems to have done the trick, but I'm starting down the replacement TV rabbit home. Main need is screen reflection because even with blinds the living room is bright enough that we see ourselves and our window treatments over the picture image during the day, not completely unwatchable, but certainly not great. Would like the G2, but cannot wall mount because of room setup. But don't want another just because it comes with a stand.
Big respect for the Polyphia clip.
Thank you Caleb. 🙏🏻Awesome review. With that said, what happened to “this TV is fire” ‘S95B’ in regards to the mix?😉
The Fire service appeared in the form of LGG2 and Sony A95K and did a bit of dampening!
Is the sony processor noticeably better than the the LG. I especially like sports and action movies.
I would like to get the g2 but don't want to sell myself short with the processing!
Very well explained. Best TV review this year.
QD-Oled without polarize filter will not look inky black as Woled when light hits on the display surface. At least for my eye sensitivity it's more important than wider colour volume on QD-Display in term of viewing experience especially 21:9 content.
Nah I have the S95B, the reports are greatly exaggerated
@@JP-tg8fr for real. Everyone who says this doesn’t own either an A95k or an S95B, they just regurgitate what they hear. I can watch mine in daytime with no issues on filmmaker mode
Sunlight shouldn’t shine on your tv regardless if it’s oled or qled
As others have said this is a nothing burger. I have the S95B across from a large window in my living room. Blacks are Black. The TV looks stunning day and night.
