Awwww this makes me so excited to adopt one all day! I was surprised to hear them listed since they get so much flack.
People are just afraid of em, and that turns into bad training / temperment unfortunately. They dont need much training but all dogs need a healthy balance 👍🏽
I almost got attacked once, the dog fucking growled in a low decibal but damn it was loud, then, the dog started to approach towards me growling. I took out my knife, yelled at the dog and slowly stepped back

@@callumbreen6439 Mixes are, without a shadow of a doubt, some of the best, hardiest, most wonderful dogs in the world! That said, you could hardly say they have the sweetest face since they vary so wildly. I guess I should have specified pure breeds, and that of those, goldens have the sweetest faces.

I had a Rottweiler and golden retriever at the same time, flipping adorable. Such great animals, still have my Goldie.

My family had a Rottweiler for 9 years. We adopted him and was a week away from getting euthanized. He was the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. Never barked, though did like to howl at sirens. He was the bestest boi. He passed in 2020. Really was a gentle giant.
We just turned our Labrador into a home security system by tying a bell to his tail. Now every time a burglar breaks in he’s gonna start wagging his tail and we will hear the bell.

Golden Retrievers are the absolute sweetest dogs. Unfortunately some have health problems as a result of bad breeding. Get one from a good breeder, and you'll never regret it.

Idk about that but I had 3month old golden retriever dude was so cheerful absolute unit of a cuteness but unfortunately dude got some virus at. 4month we gave him best treatment we can buy but his condition gott worst to worst at around his 5th month and end of the 1week of his treatment bro got so week he died that day and my whole family missed everyday miss him hope he is doing good at heaven
Golden retrievers are the most aggressive dog breed Ive ever encountered, been attacked by like 5 of them unwarranted just this year alone, whether it be walking my dog at a dog park or just walking alone down my street. Overrated af breed

My rottie is an absolute sweetheart and she grew up being abused and used for breeding. I have no idea how she is still a sweetheart after everything she went through but she loves her knee life and somehow still loves people❤️❤️
Our Rottie was the best, after his real training, I was able to take him as a kid and train him on non verbal commands. he was so smart!
I love rotties. My neighbor had one growing up, it not only watched out for her kids, she kept an eye on all kids. I had a German shepherd/doberman so I was already safe, but it had my back as well

Had a german shepherd as a kid, it really cared about me and my sister, had a great personality, and whenever we went on walks, she would always join in and go for the people that were behind like if we were sheep and she rounded us up

Rotties will always be my favorite. My parents have owned them since I was 9 and they are the sweetest with kids and wonderful protectors. My Rory who has passed on now always watched over my nieces and was there pillow on the couch ❤

My Buddy was the most gentle, sweetest, dog I have ever met. He loved kids and didn't mind us climbing all over him. He was a golden retriever and the only one I've met afraid of water lol

Agree. My 13 yr old German Shepherd is great with family, and with anyone whom I allow into the house. I'm thinking about unsubscribing for dissing my dog.
My family used to have an amazing Chocolate Lab, he was a big one as a well, but certainly a gentle giant. My parents told me that when I was 5 I would always try to feed him rocks and he would spit them out, but I’d keep trying because I said he was hungry. I remember I would have friends come over but he would always end up trying to hump them.
In conclusion he was a great dog who lived 14 years!
Rudous was mine biggest lab I’ve ever seen he lived up until I was 14. Best dog ever could get he saved me and my brother multiple times as we lived in the country. Wish I could pet him one more time.

I feel like people need to understand that all dogs can be great family pets. I recently rescued a dog, who is half pit. One of the sweetest dogs I have ever had.

I’ve had three shelter pits and small children over the last twenty years. They’re the best. Don’t listen to people that can’t even spell their own name correctly. Prob from somewhere people abuse animals.

We have a 12 week old chocolate lab, and I don't know if he's working line or just a puppy, but his energy is insane.
All retrievers are working dogs. Its in the name 😂 my chocolate lab girl was insane for the first 3 years of her life. She is 6 now and the best dog in the world. Just takes patience 😊
Yeah, you went wrong with "chocolate lab" almost all of them are working line and without training they're difficult.

I have an English Cocker Spaniel and he is perfect in every way possible. Never barks, except if he plays with dogs. Very sweet and friendly to anyone too.
Our family's white boxer was the most good hearted, funny, sweet soul in the world. He thought he was a lap dog and wanted all the snuggles, but also loved to run and played beautifully with my kids, as well as with other dogs. Never so much as growled at anyone, even our cats. And I know that boxers don't have the reputation for being the smartest dogs ever, but I swear to Dog, that boy understood every word we said to him. Based on my (albeit limited) experience with boxers, I'd say they would easily make top 5. ❤

Our boxer was an incredible family dog too and he was very clever and easily trained. Would take a boxer over a rottie any day of the week.

Also German shepherds, idk if it was just the one my family had when I was younger but he was so sweet. He also never bit, barked at, or even growled at kids. (Until he was literally on his deathbed, and even then I think he just growled) one time when I was was I toddler, my friend fell on him and he just grunted. He was also extremely smart and would howl on command. He was kinda high maintenance tho like he was allergic to grass and would get seasonal dry skin. But he was the best family dog
I don't know much about dogs and have not seen all dog breeds. Out of the breeds i saw, no dogs have the look of a german shepperd. I simply see it in their eyes how incredibly intelligent they are. Dobermans follow, yet the smartest dogs i saw are german shepperds and this combined with their affectionate warmth i just can't explain how such a wonderful creature can exist!

I wish I can get a Doberman when I start my own family. Elegant, sweet and discourages potential attackers.
I've loved Dobermans since I was a kid in the eighties watching Magnum P.I. I always wanted a pair like Zeus and Apollo but my life never worked out in a manner which would have allowed me to get dogs without leaving them cooped up and suffering while I was at work so I didn't get them. I still love them though.
They are aggressive. A friend had one and it bit someone trying to pet it.

@@holdencaulfied7492there's a lot of reasons this could happen. But more commonly the dog isn't properly socialized and/or the breeder wasn't good as picking out the temperaments of their dogs

We actually had one when I was growing up. High energy and strong as a damn horse. Me and my sister would try and walk her and instead we got dragged as she ran to the neighbors yard to eat the food scraps he threw out. She was a sweetheart however. She had two strokes however and we hadto put her down because she was blind and immobilized from them and we didn't wanna see her suffer

I have two springers right now, one has hip problems but loves life so much and still is able to do everything normally (and run around like crazy) but it’s still scary to see. The other ones a crazy little 3 year old that still acts like a little puppy. Sprinters are the joys of my life and they come in different sizes and energies so they fit any family. Awesome to hear that you’ve had them
@@JOENAD0 thanks. She was 18 when she died. She was full of life to very end. She lived upto the nicknames we gave her tho which was horse and garbage disposal on legs. Lol. I still remember getting ready for school one day and she wanted to get out but I told her no. She didn't like it so she climbed the fence and got out and walked inside. It was a 10 foot fence and she climbed it like a fucking monkey.

In my opinion and from experience greyhounds make the best family dog because there amazingly calm and gentle and they are so friendly
Get a golden retriever or a lab and then tell me if "in your experience" stays the same. Although I'm glad you got lucky with a well behaved greyhound
Also, do some research into greyhounds. Beautiful dogs, but so Is the husky, and they're some of the top surrendered dog breeds, for a reason
I had a pitbull named Crona, died 2021 or 2022, she was a sweet, docile, yet protective girl, whom had once stood between my mom, dad, and older brother whom was a baby atm, and i wasn't even a thought yet, and a coyote, which we had ran into on a walk. She was an example of a well trained Pitbull, and entirely fine with kids, and my mom and dad weren't afraid she'd hurt us if they left her with us.
Very much, a family pet till the end.
ALSO, she was a shelter dog originally and brought us our first cat, Doc, whom is still alive, she was a little kitten that Crona brought in on a cold day.
I grew up owning papered dogs and my $100 shelter pit is the best dog I've ever owned. Beyond gentle with my children, wife, and cats and despite getting him at around 6 was super receptive to training. The only time I've ever seen him show signs of possible aggression was on a walk when we got in a hairy situation and it was warranted but didn't lash out and remained completely in my control, he just pulled tight to my legs and kept himself between me and the guy that had obvious bad intentions.
Shelter pits are the best dogs IMO and the more ethical choice over a bred dog.

And if you have allergies and want a energetic companion, the Golden Doodle. So much energy but so worth it if you are active. Mine loves to go hiking :)
Golden doodles often end up with double coat still and can shed so it’s a gamble when you get a puppy whether they will be shedders or not

I had a golden doodle. Got rid of the thing. I put it in a couple different training programs and I tried to train that dog. The dog was just crazy and couldn’t comprehend anything. I then got a chocolate lab, she’s trained GREAT. I did it myself. it wasn’t me or the trainer that couldn’t train that doodle, the dog was just plain dumb, the new owners still can’t teach him anything🤣 I warned them.
Very high maintenance for first time owners. Groomers are making banks off them. They need groom every 2-3 months.
Boxers are fantastic family dogs as well
We have another lab now, and he’s a peach of a dog! We also have three vehicles, but in the past, we’ve had the Rottweiler mix with malamute of all things, more labs, an Australian shepherd, and a bunch more I can’t even remember it’s been 50 years worth of dogs. We loved them all, but if I had to get any dog again, I would stay with the Labrador. Pure gold.

Curious to know how you feel about Irish setters? I’m in the process of training our Irish setter puppy. He is amazingly smart and very gentle!! Very energetic!
I have a 2 year old Irish Setter service dog. Training her was super fun. She is the friendliest dog I’ve ever had. Sometimes too friendly.

I heard a lot of doggy stereotypes such as German shepherds prefer to drink out of the toilet, labs lay on your feet or in doorways and Irish Setters get lost at the end of its leash😂

Own two goldens can confirm, best loving dogs in the world and super smart. Good for hunting, handle the cold well and love everyone..... Including intruders. If I'm lucky and they aren't too tired they may bark at the intruder haha
