The Vertex Path tip is a real time saver for marking seams for UV unwrapping. Pretty sure I just saved myself half a day of work. Thanks so much, Gleb!
Hey Gleb, you made a very nice and useful video as usual! I'm not so sure about tip number 2 tough: I think that you need to choose "Normal" as Transformation Orientation, set pivot mode to "Individual Origins" and then press S and Shift + Y (two times) to lock the normal y axis (no need to create additional edges or snap pivots). Also the bookmark for starting time should be 1:06. Hope my comment was useful! Cheers!
Here is another tip. Press "O" to enable/disable proportional edditing :) Love the entire quick tip series, so much useful stuff I can't memorize it all at once! Scratch that, I love all your videos! :D
One great tip is to add shortcuts to screenlayouts, add screen.set_layout for screen input and add the name. Now you can switch easily using that command instead of ctrl left right.
Nice tips! I bet you already knew this but you in tip 12 (draw selection), you can deselect stuff by simply clicking middle mouse button (click on the mouse wheel) instead of holding alt+c.
There is an interesting little-known trick in Blender: It is possible to flip the location of T toolbar and N properties panel by hovering the mouse over the needed panel and pressing F5
Wow, was looking at this to learn some tricks and was so surprised when I saw my Star Destroyer at the end. Just embarrassed for the lousy textures I included in it :) Now at least I know exactly how to bake it into lowpoly! Thank you :) Lots of other good tips as well!
Hello Gleb it's me Reda I don't know if you remeber me wow nice video thanks for the 22 tips let's drink coffee I liked the denoiser part it's sooo powerful and it gives us two plus gifts render time and higher quality :)
5:53 It's actually middle mouse click and drag to deselect while using circle select (c key), just as it's middle mouse click and drag to box deselect (b key).
Best Blender tip of all time? Ditch individual lamps, use HDRI Environmental lighting. Re-worked the 'Classroom' benchmark and got rid of 20+ individual lamps, made the windows transparent and lit the scene with a single light source outside. Included a side-walk and grove of trees to soften the light. Nice to be able to look out the windows while your animation moves around the classroom... Renders faster, looks much much better.
Привет, Глеб! Крутота! Но второй трюк можно провернуть быстрее и удобнее. Для этого нужно: 1 Иметь активным встроенный аддон LoopTools/ 2 Воспользоватся пунктом "Gstretch"
Blender needs to dumb that "add image to light" function to one step, or just one node or one additional that does it all. This is the third time I've seen it and I keep forgetting what to do to do it myself.
Even if I knew some of these before, I had forgotten how useful they are. Thanks for sharing the knowledge! You often mention coffee tips. I think this is a joke as you never give good coffee brewing tips. Here's one for you from a fan: Check out the Aeropress, it was developed by a science nerd to optimize brew flavor and can almost compete with espresso for strength.
Kevin, I'll try that, I promise. So far I tried a raf coffee, french press, all sorts of espresso-based drinks, but aeropress is on my list definitely.
I think you will like it. Here is my guess for why you named your website "Creative Shrimp": Shrimp are small and your tip videos are short. Also shrimp along with seafood generally are high in Omega 3 fatty acids which promote good brain health. So... both are small things which are easy to consume in single bites and are good for your brain. Close?
Honestly, this will do. could make a nice explanation, I think :D (but maybe I named it like this, because of a chaotic fluctuation of the atoms in my brain or something like that).
3:44 Can you use this option to move the vertex along the edge but not only inside the object (like in the video, shortening the edge), but also in the opposite direction? (making the edge longer)?
2, 3 and13 will add many seconds to my life! So, do you drink coffee with chicory? Come to southern Louisiana and we'll change your coffee-drinking experience forever!
Hi Gleb! great stuff as allways!!! Could you make video dedicated to UV editor? It feels like UV editor is neglected and abandoned. There are few plugins and scripts that provide some good functionality but most of them don`t go well with new Blender versions. Most of indies and small teams use blender for game assets creation. And it goes well untill you have to make quality unwrap for assets. The lack of UV tools and options is so bad. It is one of the main bottlenecks for game assets creation. Is there a way to make it`s tool shelf to has rich set of tools like Max, Maya , 3d Coat etc. Could you show how to turn it into cool and feautures rich UV editor? Pick most usefull addons and scripts and "upgrade" it in to f "industry standart" unwrapping tool? So it wouldn`t appear such a rudimental element of Blender. It is the practically the worst uv editor in the field as of now . Even "Wings 3d" has beter Uv toolset than Blender does. Game dev industry does not take Blender seriously for a few reasons this one being one of them. Thanks a lot for your cool lessons and keep being awesome man!!! Cheers!!!
Another way to straighten a line is to get rid of edge loops that aren't doing anything - voila, straight edge between 2 points! Just add in loops as necessary. Nice trick though, 3D cursor still confuses me a little.
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
I've tried tip #2 several times and it's not working. I think I'm missing something. Why does the straight edge effect the edge we're scaling? It's not linked in anyway to my knowledge and we're scaling on origins and not the 3D cursor? I'd appreciate the help, this tip looks awesome.
Hi Skaveria. Here is how to do it: 1. Select the edge to strengthen 2. Chose Normal and Individual Origins 3. S (Scale) + 2x Shift+Y (and 4. "0" to have a straight line)
The Vertex Path tip is a real time saver for marking seams for UV unwrapping. Pretty sure I just saved myself half a day of work. Thanks so much, Gleb!
That 0.5 Tip with vertex sliding was mindblowing! Also the crtl select! a lot of mind blowing stuff in there.
There are Blender Gurus, but you my friend, you are a Blender God !
I didn't know about straightening the UV island.
That is awesome!
Thanks from Spain, that Bake texture tip its nice for me!
woo! :)
these are quick , to-the-point and very helpful! I like more like these please.
This is the coolest channel for blender i have known.
You make the high poly to low poly look so easy.
Hey Gleb, you made a very nice and useful video as usual! For straightening, I user Relax function from the LoopTools addon which is included in Blender. Works perfect.
loop tools super useful, space and relax makes all my meshes and curves look so much nicer
Here is another tip. Press "O" to enable/disable proportional edditing :)

This video is the nice end of my day + cup of green tea of course )
Sounds great.
Лаконично и очень информативно. Огромное спасибо, человек со смешным произношением! )
Can you show us how to make realistic hands? Nice tutorial!
Nice tips! I bet you already knew this but you in tip 12 (draw selection), you can deselect stuff by simply clicking middle mouse button (click on the mouse wheel) instead of holding alt+c.
Rolling shutter looks really fun when you have fast spinning things like propeller
Please gleb, show us how to make coffee in blender!!
It's called creative shrimp because we *prawn* to have a good time! 😉

Time code is under the cut, if you'd like to jump to some particular part.
Your Blender theme is awesome!
It's called softblend, by the way.
That last tip (bake high poly texture) is killer for game developers.
You're like a blender guru! ;) Thanks for the tips!
Nice BG shirt. One of my all time favorite bands ^_^
I'll watch it once I get home I really can't wait ;p
Oki, sounds good.
Same.
Hello Gleb it's me Reda I don't know if you remeber me wow nice video thanks for the 22 tips let's drink coffee I liked the denoiser part it's sooo powerful and it gives us two plus gifts render time and higher quality :)
Damn, finally you got a new hair style! Magnificent!
sorry to say that, but my hair again looks like a mess. all good things tend to last just a fleeting moment.
Fancy tricks, thanks man I am learning.
When using brush select mode ( 'c' key) you can use the MMB to de-select. No need for 'alt-c' :)
Excellent, every day bigger Blender
?
I do not understand. What is your problem
Wow, very cool! Thanks for these tips! Very useful!
loved that Blind Guardian tshirt
Dear Gleb Alexandrov,
You look good on those glasses, seriously...
you wont beleive tip 2! seriously! thats a really clever trick!
5:53 It's actually middle mouse click and drag to deselect while using circle select (c key), just as it's middle mouse click and drag to box deselect (b key).

Cool tutorial, as yours are so often. Although I knew most of the tips it was enjoyable to watch. And by the way: Blind Guardian, yeah!
ctrl+shift+B, You save me a lot of time!
hey Gleb, plz make tutorial on Acid Burn effect on skin.. thanks
Love the Blind Guardian T-shirt!
Haha love the coffee plugs XD
Cool tips, this helps a lot.
PS.: "Drink more coffee", I liked it. hehe xD
Wooo!! Extra coffee!!
I was actually hoping to find tips on coffee brewing on your site when you said it. ^^;;;
Nice look man! thanks for all the excellent tips!
My pleasure!
You are the best ! Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work!

Great Tips!
Wonderful.. i want to build a powerful PC for this work... Any suggestion on RAM, processor and graphics card please.
Drink more coffee, and you'll change the world
That's what we, nerds, do.
@@hiimacake lol
Great tips, you da man!
nice new style :D
love your channel bruh,its lit.
Sup. Nice tips bro. Keep it coming.
Cool, thanks Gleb!
Hi Gleb, could you please share what theme you are using here?
Blender needs to dumb that "add image to light" function to one step, or just one node or one additional that does it all. This is the third time I've seen it and I keep forgetting what to do to do it myself.
What do you mean by "blender needs to dumb that" ?
Even if I knew some of these before, I had forgotten how useful they are. Thanks for sharing the knowledge! You often mention coffee tips. Thank you for the tips!
PS for follow active quad, the active quads does need to be straight. It will warp if not.
Great videos.
2, 3 and13 will add many seconds to my life!

Gleb, this might sound stupid but what specs do you use? (your renders are soooooooooo fast)
I'm curious to know that too haha
He probably cut out the rendering when he edits the videos to save time. otherwise it must be some quantum cpu from the future
That´s video editing dude.
Another way to straighten a line is to get rid of edge loops that aren't doing anything - voila, straight edge between 2 points! Just add in loops as necessary. Nice trick though, 3D cursor still confuses me a little.
1 - coffee is not good for you
2 - that UV unwrap looks terrible :P
3 - great video
ahah, well done Victor, well done! :) keep practicing in CSGO, you'll do it!
that was awesome
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Ares Bowen instablaster :)
9,000 samples!? What do you have, titan xp sli!?!
Nah just 4 qudro gv100
It's useless
When I first tried denoiser it was bad enough for me to consider blurring stuff manually in Photoshop. It looks fine in your example though.
really had fun and learned a lot from this. the last tip was epic, you even baked lights on the low poly mesh. thats cheating! xD cheers!
cheating is what we do. no shame in it ;)
@Gleb So funny you added the rolling shutte :D I use After effects to reduce it if its too bad with my gh4 :D
agree, that's ironic.
the final one, are these High polys' UV has arranged to avoid cover each other? I'm lame on UVs...
I've tried tip #2 several times and it's not working. I think I'm missing something. Why does the straight edge effect the edge we're scaling? It's not linked in anyway to my knowledge and we're scaling on origins and not the 3D cursor? I'd appreciate the help, this tip looks awesome.
Gleb's axis y. You need to find your own axis.
artshooz I've tried I all three, nothing similar, and I am pressing the axis twice
Hi Skaveria. Here is how to do it:
1. Select the edge to strengthen
2. Chose Normal and Individual Origins
3. S (Scale) + 2x Shift+Y
(and 4. "0" to have a straight line)
I couldn't get this to work properly. I got it to sort of work but I had to move my set of straight edges up to match their original position.
Спасибо, Глеб. Полезно.
Работаю в Cinema 4D. Если в Arnold Render сделают поддержку Blender - наверное сразу сяду за его изучение)
in what part those constraint when editing the polygon without warping the texture?
What's the name of that hipsterish blender theme ?
awesome!
Blind Guardian fan huh Gleb? Awesome, rock on
16. Finally understand follow active quads. :)
bingo.
Gleb where do you get your textures from?
Beautiful glasses! Lol
hey Can you do a video to compare eevee and marmoset toolbag
great tips! oh and i happen to be creative and vertically challenged.perhaps i am a creative shrimp?
Nice glasses
"Creative Shrimp." Picture of him with friends. "Creative Small Person."
instead of pressing alt+c just press c and then press your mousewheel and then brush to do the unselecting
Глеб Вы реально крутой Перец!)

Super cool! I love u
