I know Im randomly asking but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me
@James Dayton thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
This is genius! I tried to figure something out to match the icelandic bind off after I found it a couple of years ago and just could not wrap my mind around how to make a similar cast on. This is perfection!
This has become my go-to CO for many projects. ❤ It provides a lovely, substantial beginning & best of all, no worries about not having enough or too much yarn with a longtail CO. Thank you! 🌻
Thank you for this! I've worked out a way to do this with the tail and then knit across with the working yarn to blend in with garter stitch. It looks so good. You could do it with the working yarn and then purl all the garter but I like what I've created from your video, thanks.
Dear Miss Patty, thanks so much for this fantastic technique I never heard of before. I tried it and am surprised at how easy it is. Just subbed! 👍😊😊 By the way, your channel was a YT recommendation 😍
*BEAUTIFUL!* I love the Icelandic bind off and I am amazed at the matching cast on! Do you find the cast on to be nice and stretchy? (totally subscribed!)
the question as I watch the video again... what if I work a project with the cast on and bind off then pick up stitches on the sides and do the bind off... I think that that might be a nice edging for a textured baby blanket or an afghan or hmmm ideas go on...
i wish i had found this two weeks ago. i'm almost finished with a cowl that i decided i want an icelandic bind off for but i couldnt find anything that matched so i decided to use a provisional caston and bind off both sides at the end. this wouldve saved me soooooooo much time 🤦🏼♂️
You down size the needle for the cast on. Do you do anything up or down for the bind off. I was looking for a different edge to the Linen stitch scarf that tends to curve instead of laying perfectly straight -- at least for me.
If you follow me on Instagram you'll find many mini videos. I did one on the difference between a modified passover and the icelandic bind off. I show unraveling them both - instagram.com/reel/Cwcut0CsnP2/
That depends on the knitter & the yarn. How do we find out if we want to use something we swatch. Cast on with the yarn you want to use and give it a try
I love the Icelandic bind off, I'll now try the Icelandic cast on...thank you. Do you know of a good bind off to go with the Chinese waitress cast on? :-)
I'd have to look at it again. I remember not being in love with that cast on as I thought it was a whole lot of trouble (many moves for one stitch) for something that didn't look as nice as many other cast ons. I'd probably do some variation of a 1/2 double crochet bind off.
@@PattyLyonsKnitting really? I love the way the Chinese waitress cast on looks, especially with basic brioche; I don't find it too fiddly at all...but trying to find a cast off for it has been a challenge.
@@gilliantherese7202 Oh, it looks fine, it just takes 3 moves to get one stitch on the needle and there are so many other cast ons (like this one) that create a lovely edge w/o so much fuss. I'll give it another try, just didn't like doing it.
@@PattyLyonsKnitting should I follow the exact instructions in the video if I were binding off a twisted rib? Because I’m following the video exactly for my twisted rib but my Icelandic bind off is turning out not stretchy almost at all. Why?
🌸💕🌸 Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! What a superb teacher you are! Lovely voice, too!!!…AND 2 lessons in ONE!
I truly appreciate when skilled knitters share their knowledge. Videos are so helpful. Thank you!!

@James Dayton It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D

@Houston Zechariah you are welcome xD

Just learned and loved the cast off and was looking for a cast on to match- thank you!!

So glad you like it!
What a beautiful style.
This looks like a perfect match to me. Thank you so much for sharing!
I just learned Icelandic bind off and was hoping there was a good matching cast on. Thank you!!
I love the look of this cast on and bind off. I have the Sitcom Chic cardigan pattern that this will be perfect for.
Thank you Patty. I have long used the Icelandic Bind Off. I love how this CO matches it. You are brilliant

Brilliant. Thank you!

A very nice alternative if you don’t want the bulkiness of a I cord
This is great🎉. Thank you

Wonderful! Thank you.
When I cast on for knitting in the round I like to cast on an extra stitch to join. Would I be able to do that with this cast on?
Nice! I like it.
Is there a simple method for tinking the Icelandic bind off? Mine is too tight. I’m finding it finicky to take it out.

@@PattyLyonsKnitting Much appreciation!
Does anyone know if there is a crochet edging that looks similar to the knitted Icelandic bind off?
Looks like a great match! Is it stretchy?
yup
Brilliant! Thank you😊
Pretty! How stretchy is it, so I know when to use it?

Can you use this cast on and bind off when knitting in the round?
Sure, just like any rounded edge cast on and bind off, you'll use the tail to join to smooth it out.

Bind off at 4:08.
How do I unknit/tink an Icelandic bind off??
pull out the yarn and then lift one loop over the other, pull, repeat.

@@user-fc3sx2cw5x I'm afraid I can't analyze your knitting technique via a comment. Try a larger needle if you are having trouble with your tension.
