I’m SO happy to have found this; like you, the usual picot bind off has always seemed too ‘picot-y’ for me, and I love the Channel Island cast on so it’s great to discover such an easy way of matching it. I don’t know why the Channel Island cast on isn’t used more often for top-down socks, it’s so pretty, and stretchy, and perfect, not that one needs a matching cast off, but now I could do the bind off for toe-up socks, I guess. Thank you SO much, and by the by, I LOVE your “Knitting Tricks” book.

This is perfect! I tried two different picot bind offs for the Elysian Mitts, as the pattern suggested, but they were far too loose. This is just the right amount of picot and elasticity !

Thank you! This is beautiful. I must use it. I'll have to figure out how to turn corners on a center out square. It would make a lovely neckline bind off too.

I really like this, the regular picot is too shark fin for me! Thanks ☺️

Hello! I’m hoping you can help me in a complete long shot/desperate post. But I’m trying to find a solution for an appropriate cast off for a neckline in knit 1 purl 2 ribbing? It was originally supposed to be knit 1, purl 1 with an Italian sewn bind off. But I had to improvise on the ribbing and now I’m at a loss for a clean, semi stretch bind off for this neckline with my knit 1, purl 2.

how do you do it in round...and connect the last CO stitch to the first CO stitch?

Do you mean the last BO stitch? All bind offs in the round are actually working in a spiral, so the first st and the last stitch are connected with the tail. This is for all bind offs. Here's a tutorial - www.moderndailyknitting.com/ask-patty-the-slinky-strikes-again/
