Learning Avril 14th (Aphex Twin) On Piano In 10 Hours

- I documented myself learning Avril 14th by Aphex Twin in 10 hours. The sound quality would have been better with a sustain pedal on the keyboard and also a better microphone but of these two things I have neither. It's a peaceful and slow song with a tempo that was hard to maintain and as such I found learning it pretty difficult.
U inspire people to attempt and practice harder. Thank u
You're an inspiration to piano practicers everywhere! I've been there too doing the same thing, and I'm very glad that you documented your experience to show how normal these feelings are.
is your pfp the electronic gems Resonance video photo??
Haha this was me yesterday. Repeated the first riff for like 4 hours. Luckily nobody was home. Have to learn the rest still but I got that part nailed down.
Shoutout to your neighbors. For putting up with this. Well done my man.
he can just lower the volume…?
@@David-ud8mx it’s a joke man
Awesome! Well done buddy. Your attitude at the very beginning was gold!
Dude, I just recently attempted this, and I didn't put in as much time, and didn't get nearly as far along as you, but wow! I love it. You give me the motivation to try harder at learning piano pieces. I just have a crappy keyboard like you too haha!
have you leaned the song yet
. Unfortunately, for those without formal training, it takes much longer to get a hold of a picece. Once you do, it's difficult to enjoy it, since all the focus goes into trying to pin the right keys. Nonetheless, feels good. Props to you for making it; I tried and the melody started to lose meaning due to repetition before I was able to play barely any of it.
Have fun playing it on every given occasion there is a piano around and hearing people go "Whoaa" at your mad skills.

I did this synthesia stuff for a few years and took forever to learn a few songs a few I have forgot. I have been taking piano lessons for a few months with a proper teacher and he taught me to read music. Man it was slower at first but now it’s a whole lot faster. I tried doing synthesia today and wanted to shoot myself since it was so slow. Sheets help with retention since the notes are always there, they don’t disappear like with videos. There is tons of reasons to learn sheets, I enjoy what I learn more, learn faster (I think), and retain the song better! It seems like less effort, I know what you mean by stressing to hit every key right, it sucks!
Sheets helps take away that since it ingrains the song. When I look at sheets I picture where my hand would go (after a LOT of time). I only learned two songs from sheets so far but it’s far easier and efficient than synthesia ever was.
Synthesia is grinding against the grain
@@immts6475 da fuck does synthesia mean ? 😵
Genuinely inspiring and fascinating. Thanks for this video.
I love listening to the last 30 seconds of this as much if not more than the original. The slow down at the end is really haunting
I've wanted to play this song. And I started to practice the piano last summer. And now, It's finally taking shape. But u spend only 10 hours! Amazing!! Congrats!!!
nice dedication and well played!
Been there i feel your pain🤗

Cause that part is extremhard to play. Trust me.
We've all been there. I'm a drummer and I was sometimes stuck on a bar beat for hours, just trying to get it right.
Thank you for understanding me.
This is amazing
Well done, mate.

i am doing the same exact thing right now
good boy
How do you get the hand independence so quickly right at the start?? My fingers on both hands want to the same things at all all times.
People hate to hear it but honestly just practice practice practice practice. There are specific exercises/simple melodies you can do for this as well.
Good work. By the rubbish on the floor; I take it you're in Sydney? :D
Is that an acer c720 chromebook? :D Thinking about learning this song but it seems really difficult for a beginner like me.
Yep, sure is.

Midi video on youtube.
I'm sorry but that's a pretty shitty way to learn music... piano equivalent of guitar tabs basically
Still nice job
Lennard Vaarten Don't be sorry.

@@wovenstreets 😂
😂😂😂🤦♂️
O. O Dislikes
YOU DIDNT FINISH!
I was too lazy to learn the outro
All you had left was the 3 high pitched (duh duh duh) :/
bad hand form m8
Watching my hand form is about as convincing as watchinga baby deer taking it's first steps.
Because I have perfect pitch I would have been able to figure out the left hand chords first and then figure out the actual accompaniment later on
nobody cares
Luke you're a GOD!
Corinne Olivier two words: nobody cares
after 10 hours, still terrible sounding
wow, you must have a lot of good friends!
