Even though I wasn't around for the early years, I felt like I was indoctrinated into his cult with Drukqs when I was 13 in 2002... innocent were my ears and mind then! This felt like a sonic and emotional compression of something that can only be described through the depth of this sound, the immaculate transmission of subtleties that impact on levels suggested visually here- which, if you have experienced him live, at least in recent times, you will know a physical component to this that cannot be replicated otherwise, which I feel is a certain kind of love that he extends to those who love him and his music. I wasn't quite sure why I had such an emotional reaction otherwise, then last moment hit and it made sense. No more words needed, just the presence of this sound, reverberating through atoms, ear drums, generations and eras...

@franciscopolledo4672 Richard's parents passed away and this track is dedicated to them. Since it is a beautiful track, I assume the beauty of the track is a projection of the love Richard feels for his parents and what they mean to him. It's an assumption, but that's what I feel listening to it.
@@drhouse2462 I agree with you. And let me tell you this, while I was watching this video all I could think about was "Interstellar", the outstanding film by C. Nolan. In your comment you talked about another dimension.. Well.. What a lucky coincidence.
@kiko7247 The visuals Richard chose for this video are very evocative of Nolan's representation of the tesseract imo and, very synchronistically, I was thinking about it when I wrote my comment. Great movie indeed. Thanks for complementing my comment in such a great way.
@@drhouse2462 glad we're all on the same page! When my mom passed away 2 months ago, I had this thought : what if the 4th dimension exists and it's like in Nolan's film? Apparently, Rich, you and I share a similar thought.

The sorrow and mourning come through in the feels of this tune. So desolate yet beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss Richard. I too lost my dad in 2020. Rest in peace Derek and Lorna James.
One of the most mesmerizing songs and videos I've ever heard. The part at 3:20 never fails to utterly floor me. Tardigrade Richard D. James is my new god.
Staggeringly beautiful, in that the visuals throughout edge off one honing in on any focal point, sans the final resolution, wherein all that has been branching out rests on what could be described as a trinitarain image/origin, 4:16 - his art now a gift reflecting the gift his life is - an entity directly sprung from the overflowing nature of the love shared between his parents. Truly divine, this expression. Hats off. #humblecore
Thank you for everything. Your music has changed my life. RIP to your folks, brotha. Your music truly makes a difference in people's lives. Please continue.
For someone who never knew the names of James' parents, that dedicated to Lorna and Derek just further contextualizes Lornaderek from Drukqs- it's a song named after his parents - that track is definitely a tear jerker- and the transition into QKthr- Aphex has always had a sentimentality around making music either featuring or dedicated to his family- it's so heart warming to know he's been paying musical respects to them for decades
I honestly don't know if Richard understands the deep science on how timbres and scales/chords/notes effect the human mind, but he definitely knows it on some sort of heightened level. It's easy to say that most music does this to some extent, but Richard has distilled it into a potent tincture that I gladly quaff. I do hope he eventually releases one of his caricatures of a "pop song" again one day. Window Licker and Come To Daddy were both masterpieces of him making fun of the trends of the time and I'd love to hear him do it for current ones.
Imagine we all had a _'blackbox life recorder'_ and we could see our loved ones life's milestones recorded. We could see their thoughts and imaginations. We could also hear their thoughts moments before death. A truly voyeuristic, terrifying but deeply morbid and curious device.

You rite, Dude
well put. He finds just the right timbres and tones to open our souls.
😭 read/liked ur comment like two weeks ago or whatever/revisited song/made sure to revisit what I am neow rlzling is far and away Ma Nu Bestfavorite Comment of AwTa’am. This is first song I have heard by Aphex Twin/will not miss him live next he’s in Bay, CA. Ty, fam.
This track scratches my brain just in the right place.
That was beautiful Richard. Thank you.
I watched Aphex Twin perform live opening for Bjork in '95 in Portland Oregon. During the I care because you do tour.
I was young and I lost my shit forever thx ATRJ
Me and my friend we standing right next him at one moment standing in the crowd during Bjork performance. We was yung and shy we didn't say anything to him
Beautiful track, quite representative of the love you have for your parents, I would assume. Know this; energy can not be destroyed so, whichever dimension they are in now, keep making them proud.
Sorry for your loss.
Much love. ❤️
How this track can be “representative of the love you have for your parents”
I can feel the warmth and sadness in this one
man, richard doesnt know how much i love this song
The greatest appeal of electronic music was this simulacrum of real instruments. This is truly an exhibition of that.
The only thing I have ever turned notification on for.
same 😂

Ironically i got sent back here cause of an ad. Cant help but feel impressed and blissed that richard is back making music again. Although didnt knew that this was a tribute to both of his parents. Which i cant help but feel mostly sorry that hes been going through this as well since my mom passed away as well last year. Hit me really hard, but i've been trying to make it through this. God bless richard. Your the best music producer/dj ever. He have defintly changed the entire generation of electronic music forever.
Thank You Richard. Just lost my father and this song and ep are absolutely stunning. Means the world to me. RIP to your mom and dad. 🖤
The sorrow and mourning come through in the feels of this tune. So desolate yet beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss Richard. I too lost my dad in 2020. Rest in peace Derek and Lorna James.
My favorite song right now. It's burrowed under my skin and has a home for life.
One of the most mesmerizing songs and videos I've ever heard. The part at 3:20 never fails to utterly floor me. Tardigrade Richard D. James is my new god.
Beautiful RDJ. They led long accomplished lives and can appreciate that in your work.
The trailer already looks so cool, can't wait for the full video.
Thank you,Philipp .
This song is addicting, the start is so nice.
RIP Lorna, didn't know she passed too ❤️ great track Richard...
Красивые люди на фотографиях.Две судьбы без которых не было бы этой музыки.
His stuff never gets old, does it? His new stuff always sounds so fresh
Rave on.
Weirdcore and RDJ is such a proper fit.
Sorry for your loss, Richard. We love you, and you've made our lives better.
This one of the best tracks Richard made and he knows it.
The majority will realize it later on…
Спасибо за вашу деятельность 🔥
I’m sure they would have loved this track as much as we all do ❤️ 7\
thank you.
Window Licker and Come To Daddy were both masterpieces of him making fun of the trends of the time and I'd love to hear him do it for current ones.
i quaffed too
Quality ep,loved the vid,Sorry for your loss Richard.
“We love you Richard” we all scream in unison
Imagine we all had a _'blackbox life recorder'_ and we could see our loved ones life's milestones recorded. We could see their thoughts and imaginations. We could also hear their thoughts moments before death.
A truly voyeuristic, terrifying but deeply morbid and curious device.

Richard lost a lot those past years. His girlfriend, his dad and his mom. The only thing he could not lose is the love of his family and his fans that will remain forever. Sorry and thank you Richard !
Lost his girlfriend ?
@@angebruneel Some of redditors affirm that he broke up with his girlfriend few years ago. After he finished is 2019 tour. I don’t try to share fake news for likes. I’m not this kind of c***
It is true that someone was performing live with him that was said to be his girlfriend / wife until around that time, but then again… Richard is know to leave bread crumbs in all directions but the real ones… it must be hard to deal with fame while at the same time caring so much for privacy.
@@angebruneel dont read this, a lot idiots out here with bullshit
Beautiful man..... that flowed like water and the syncopation was perfect; amazing drum work. I don't hear much from Aphex Twin anymore but his music is always just so fresh and different.
The melody at 2:50 is so well worked towards. I expect it to be played at my wake on repeat.
