I'm 106 years old. i've been listening to Richard for 30 odd years. This mf goes harder every year. Showing Richard tunes to my great grand niece has been a privilege. Gratitude to the goat, Rick 🫂🫶
Praying for many more long years of listening for you ❤️💯
You channel (account UA-cam created 27 min alive). You nickname has number 1981 (i burned in 1982, i know about talk, i has see Gorbachev). I do not believe you. I've known Richard since 1997, when his videos were on MTV
You are very up to date on your slang for a 106 year old, it's very impressive. Here's to 106 more, I hope they are bussin'

@@RealRayman "Derek". Seriously? Unless you know the family personally (which I'm guessing not based on your comment), that is so frigging weird.
You do not know these people. Boundaries and etiquette.
Have some respect for Derek’s nephew. He just lost his uncle.
@@spweb2 What do you mean with etiquette? Sure, the other comment had very broken english, but It says Derek James at the end of the video. Am I missing something?
@@Progenitus It doesn't really matter if it says "Derek" at the end of the video, there's so much distance between him and Aphex Twin fans that it's just weird and inappropriate to refer to him on first name terms like a member of your own family.
It's levels beyond numpties calling Aphex "Richard", which is also ridiculous.

His music has always sounded like a living organism. Unreal
still sounds ;)
Above all, his music has always sounded the same in recent years. He's been spinning the same warmed-over crap to his fans ever since. The last good album was the Richard D. James album. The one or other interesting track was still on Drukqs. But that was it.

Think twice
Well go back and reread the work. Always was about them
Wasn’t “Father” dedicated to his father as well?
Richard doesn’t owe us any more than what he chooses give. He’s a human being.
Exactly. Well said.
Indeed, he has been generous over time. For me the title for the album « I Care Because You Do… » said it all: he obviously just wants to be left alone and make music, but is conscious that it is only possible because of his fans. I always thought of it as a kind of secret contract, as if the two parts had signed without even conceiving of it…
He doesn’t care about you
@@adamsmith307 you can’t know that to be honest though. Of course no human is going to care about each individual, but there are artists who take their audiences seriously.
RDJ isn’t as prolific as he used to be, but lets be honest, he could very comfortably just stop making music altogether by now and live a wealthy life. He’s still going out touring etc.
Richard is never a human being.
The part at 0:50 with the vocals almost sounds like "pa-pa" and it's heart-breaking. RIP to your parents. Thank you for sharing your music with us.
Almost?
Read the tracklist for come to daddy. Everything was about them. They were Everything.
Also has the tone of his voice.
@@sandwich675I’m imagining he played it on a sampler so it probably IS his voice
If you play this to me without telling me it's Aphex Twin, I will immediately tell you it's Aphex Twin. His sound is iconic. I like the beat skips. Burial also has them, and it gives me chills.
It’s currently at number 29 in the uk singles charts update. Could be his 1st top 49 since 1999. Let’s achieve it for Richard. Stream, download, buy his track.
*top 40*
What was his last top 40?
Think it was Windowlicker
He pulled windowlicker as it was heading to the top of the charts. Not his bag!
@@mariusd7803 pretty sure he left windowlicker up but he did pull come to daddy from the charts since he made the song as a "stupid joke" and didn't intend for it to do well

Ironically i got sent back here cause of an ad. Cant help but feel impressed and blissed that richard is back making music again. Although didnt knew that this was a tribute to both of his parents. I was able to listen to this in the near future, and built a time machine to teleport me back and report on how good the track is. Beautiful track, quite representative of the love you have for your parents, I would assume. Know this; energy can not be destroyed so, whichever dimension they are in now, keep making them proud.
Sorry for your loss.
Much love. ❤️
How this track can be “representative of the love you have for your parents”
@franciscopolledo4672 Richard's parents passed away and this track is dedicated to them. Since it is a beautiful track, I assume the beauty of the track is a projection of the love Richard feels for his parents and what they mean to him. It's an assumption, but that's what I feel listening to it.
@@drhouse2462 I agree with you. And let me tell you this, while I was watching this video all I could think about was "Interstellar", the outstanding film by C. Nolan. In your comment you talked about another dimension.. Well.. What a lucky coincidence.
@kiko7247 The visuals Richard chose for this video are very evocative of Nolan's representation of the tesseract imo and, very synchronistically, I was thinking about it when I wrote my comment. Great movie indeed.
Thanks for complementing my comment in such a great way.
@@drhouse2462 glad we're all on the same page! When my mom passed away 2 months ago, I had this thought : what if the 4th dimension exists and it's like in Nolan's film?

Your music is a big inspiration, stay strong during these weird times richard. Wish you the best
So that’s what Richard’s brain looks like….makes sense. Thanks for so many great tracks, really appreciate everything you do. Ahhh, mate! So, so, so sorry for your losses. Loss has been front and center with such urgency and immediacy in the last several years. You've been in at least one of my ears for almost 30 years and have never given a bad turn. Wish you all the best, and hope to hear more great new tracks in the future! If for no other reason I can be a bit more sure I haven't been put in a coma/simulation when I collapsed in 2020. Long story and not important, but right now the only proof positive I have is your tracks dropping and whoever would be so cruel to encapsulate people in such a hell would not have the heart to drip-feed them new Aphex Twin music nor could my own incapacitated brain hallucinate any of this on its own, and thus it is not, hah!
