YOU'RE A FKING GENIUS!!! I tried painstakingly replicating this song 1 to 1 a long while back, and at a some paint I gave up. It makes me very happy to see it finally remade like this in the most faithful way possible.
@@ReverbMachine Thanks for the info. You guys do an amazing job and I hope to see much more remakes on your channel in the future! Especially in the synthwave/alternative genres.
Absolutely great remake, RM! It's so spot on its unbelievable. Can't believe that main chord itself is a damn sample. RDJ surely is a music genius. One doubt though, how do I go about customizing the DX7V's STRINGS 5 patch (the one that plays the second supporting chord, more prominent at the outro of the track) to sound more like the original? The operators' envelopes themselves don't seem to be matching up and I can't really accurately get them right. Do you think Richard himself customized the patch a bit on his DX100 to make it sound like what it is? If so, what can I do to get the same sound? Thank you!
I don't think he customized any of the DX patches but I do know that the DX100 has different patches from the DX7 and Arturia plugin, so his strings presets probably just had different envelope settings from DX7 V. I need to look into whether anyone has made a DX7 V bank out of DX100 presets.
@@ReverbMachine Cheers mate. I do think you could convert DX100 patches to a DX7-readable SYX format. The only differences between the DX100 and the DX7 is that the DX100 is a 4-operator synth whereas the DX7 is 6-operator. That gets me wondering if converting from a DX100 to DX7 would just require some specific operators to be disabled during conversion which could well then be converted to the aforementioned .SYX format. As far as I know, the DX7 V plugin could import SYX banks which could then be made into a DX7 V bank.

One of the most beautiful tracks oat! Nice work 🙏🏻
It really is!
holy out of every cover/remake I've seen, you actually did the evil at play sample correctly timed
I didn't even know this was sampled. Great job :)
It's an uncredited sample so nobody knew for a long time, people used to think the chords were an obscure DX7 patch

Awesome, Thank you for showing us the Piano pad!
You've done a great job with this.
I disagree with other comments that say its indistinguishable. Much closer than I could get though!
i love this track so much
This is one of the most soulful interpretations of that evil at play sample
You have great talent and great taste, subbed
Masterful recreation
Never thought I would see a remake video of Richard's stuff, happy to see this
Holy fuck I never got the sample to be this accurate even following SynaMax’s video

Motherfucker HOW
I mean Im literally looking at it, but still, brilliant
This is so good
Superb. Sounds just like the original
really good but the DX7 part doesn’t sound right
Where's the tape hiss from him resampling and cutting tape by hand? (I'm half joking).
Please do some tracks from SAW II. Rhubarb would be really cool, just sayin'
He already did a while back for a reverb article. The recreation was good but it didn't have that layered flute sound of the original
This is creepy. I wonder if Id distinguish it if like... it was blasting in a car stereo or something, n no one told me
Those pads are well off. Intentional (copyright issues?)
that first chord on the pad isn't right. it's a dyad, but it's B and F, not C and F.
*B flat and F
@@efmusic04 yes, whoops-B would be a discordant attrocity
It was all good until the synth track came in.
For real bro i can’t unhear the wrong note
Probably to avoid copyright, but the tone is spot on
@@randoH3000 could've been but the attempt didn't work lol. I guess this should be a compliment
