  • My easy to make keto Vietnamese Egg Coffee - cà phê trứng, is sugar free and a perfectly balanced blend of flavorful strong brewed coffee, with a light, fluffy, velvety sweetened egg cream on top. The best way to describe this keto dessert-quality sugar free Vietnamese Egg Coffee is, if you can imagine a coffee version of a liquid tiramisu. If you loved the keto Dalgona coffee, or my Irish Coffee, you will love this low carb, sugar free coffee recipe that is perfect for diabetic diet needs, Banting diets or for anyone who wants to reduce the use of refined sugar. I use a Monk fruit and Erythritol based sweetener because it does not have an after taste and is practically zero carb. Or, you could also use an Allulose or other acceptable rare sugar sweetener.
In this video tutorial demonstration, I will show you 2 versions, each with a step by step demonstration and explanations on how to make the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. The first version is based on the classic, and traditional Egg Coffee method, while the second version uses tempered cooked eggs. Both versions and methods of making the keto Vietnamese Egg Coffee are delicious, easy to make and perfect whenever you want a treat. Enjoy!

This recipe looks great! I'll try it with my Janson Arabica coffee. I'm in Panamá, Central America.

Hi Aylin! Thank you for letting me know that you are from Panama - I am sure that your coffee will be amazingly tasty. Our son brought us back some from Costa Rica when he was there, and the Central American coffee was incredible! Let me know whether you make the coffee with the raw egg method or the cooked egg method. I hope that you will enjoy the coffee as much as I do - Cheers!

Hi A Colley! Your comment gave me a chuckle. I do this with my kids, still, even though they are adults. I make the recipe, have them try it, ask for their opinion, and THEN tell them what is in it :-) Cheers!

Catching up, Finally! These look amazing. I can also vouch for the Cafe´ Du Monde. We have visited there several times, however, sadly for me, Only Hubby, and Son drank Coffee. Not ME! I did not start drinking coffee until two years ago! I was always a Tea Snob. Even used only loose leaf so it did not taste like it was brewed in a paper bag. Well, they always told me I was missing a treat, but I sure had all the Beignets I could eat!! Heaven!! Thanks again. Yummy!!

HI Belizeguy! There are very few occasions (in the past) where I KNOWINGLY did something I knew I shouldn't in partaking of a special treat. I have to admit, I did enjoy Beignets at Cafe du Monde as well. The other time was when my daughter and I were in Portugal, and we had their famous Pasteis de Belem in Lisbon. Those are incredibly delicious! Like New Orleans Beignets, there is something unique and special about how they are made. Thanks for reminiscing with me! Cheers!

@@KetoMealsandRecipes The Pasteis de Belem Intrigue me! Maybe some day!!! I loved every minute of indulgence at the Cafe´Du Monde. How often can I get there after all?

Hi Belizeguy! Portugal is a really unique place - if you can get to Lisbon, either on a stopover or as part of a visit to Portugal, I highly recommend going to the cafe and sitting to have a freshly brewed cup of coffee, and the Pasteis de Belem treats. There is something unique about enjoying these incredible pastries, fresh out of the oven, in a cafe with such a long history. Here is a link to their website:

Just a bit of temptation for you.
The one bit of advice I would give is you order the number of Pasteis that you want, but you'll have to wait a bit because, as I said, they are freshly made. We made the mistake, and only ordered six on our first order (they are kind of small) and after we each ate our three each, realized that we needed many more. The restaurant is very busy, and it was 45 minutes before our waiter came back to ask if we needed anything else, and then we had to wait for the next batch to be made and delivered. In between our two orders, it was about an hour and a half, which was great because it was a beautiful place to sit and relax, while simultaneously, it was absolute torture, because all you could smell were these delicious pastries - I do hope that you and Chuck do have a chance to go there some day. Sorry for the long reminiscence - in 2015, this was my last lapse from a keto diet! Cheers!

@@KetoMealsandRecipes What a treat! That Website is amazing. Gives me so many UN Keto thoughts and cravings!! Other than the Shared Cafe Du Monde experience, I do have only one other spectacular Cafe' experience to share. Should you find yourself in Antigua, Guatemala, at all costs look up DOÑA LUISA XICOTENCATL. When our Son needed to refresh his Spanish, Hubby and he went to Antigua to pick a school that he would return to on his own (at 16!) They found the perfect one and even though meals were included in the very reasonable pricing, the School recommended going to Dons Luisa's for the true Antigua Experience. Well, they were hooked from the first visit, and he spent a lot of time there studying and talking to the staff and owners. It was not long before he as in the kitchen seeing up close how all their magic was done. A particular favorite of ours is the Breakfast Granola, fruit and yogurt plate. Freshest, local Tropical fruits, Home Made Granola and homemade yogurt, some what Greek Style. Delicious and affordable. He and we met so many wonderful people while we were there and my goodness, the Coffees, and pastries were incredible. You can see on the Website. So many good memories there.
I would love to visit Lisbon. At one time, I had friends there, but sadly they split and are now living in the USA and France. It is a big wonderful world for travel. Hopefully some day soon. Our next destination was to be a trip to Oaxaca, MX and we would have been going this September. Not Now, but we will at some point. I figure that will be my next Keto Holiday, as the Wedding in Charleston and our visit to Las Vegas were in March. One thing one must do is try all 7 different Moles while in Oaxaca. That and my favorite, Huitlacoche. Not for everybody. Corn fungus. Absolutely delicious done as a sauce and served over expertly grilled beef. OK, now I am hungry again. More Later!! Thanks again for the introduction to the Pasteis. (My first thoughts were about Burlesque, so glad you cleared that up!)

Hi Belizeguy. Your pasteis comment provided us a good belly-laugh for several minutes :-) Thank you for sharing the Guatemala experience, as well! Our oldest son went on a one-month school exchange to Costa Rica to brush up his Spanish, in high school, and then we hosted 3 Costa Rican boys in exchange. We will definitely put Guatemala on our Central and South America bucket list. We love traveling and seeing new places - that is one of the really good things in life! Thank you for the recommendation - Cheers!

@@KetoMealsandRecipes I love the "flavored" coffees. They are sugar/carb free. I buy the sample packs, which are substantial. My son also loves coffee and I sent my him a gift card so he could try the brand. He likes the unflavored, single source coffees. I hope you have a chance to try them.

I really want to try this coffee, but how can it be sugar free keto if it has sweetened condensed milk??? Is there something that could be substituted for that? Please advise : )

Hi K. Poston! Thank you for your question and, in answer, I make a sugar free (using Lakanto monkfuit sweetener) sweetened condensed milk. Here is the link, for your convenience:
      ua-cam.com/video/fUa-MeUJwEc/v-deo.html
Or, as an alternative, you could also use my dairy free sweetened condensed milk, which uses Lakanto as the sweetener, and coconut cream. Here is a link for that:
      ua-cam.com/video/McKp-Uo5csU/v-deo.html
I hope this answers your question. Have a very Happy Easter!
