@@MauroTandoi, how do you know that? The drone isn't released yet. Some people on YT say it will be much quieter compared to the Neo. This because of the special and light construction of the props. Let's wait and see. Greetings from 🇳🇱
If dji make a neo "pro" ... 4k60... slighter better sensor. Then take my money! It would be an outstanding sub250g , 4k60 drone that flies cinematic full manual, N modes etc, position hold, rth ... nothing else would be close with those features at sub250g for fpv. Yes its not a freestyle beast... but if its cinematic your after... and close proximity flying, small gaps ... flying close to buildimgs and people... DJI, PLEASE MAKE A NEO PRO!
@readingdrones yes there's times where it's not suitable. But ... when it can be used, at 4k60 and a better sensor, would be one of best sub250g whoops available in terms of technology and flexibility of where you can fly it
Great video as usual Ian- thanks for the talking points. Hope you had a good Xmas and that you have a great and productive new year. Excellent as always. Happy NY to you and yours.
@@IaninLondon I found the perfect glasses the work with RC2 in the place of goggles and more functional RayNeo Air2s OLED displays 120Hz rates. The display on the controller does not turn off. It actually stays on so someone can look at the footage while the other person is looking at the screen, controlling it, which you can’t do with the goggles I thought you would probably want to show these for drone owners. I tried it. It is awesome And they’re on sale right now on prime
Great summary Ian thanks fingers crossed for a Mini 5pro with LiDAR all though the flip looks like a fun little drone all exciting stuff hopefully for 2025. Happy new year to you and thanks for the time spent on these videos looking forward to seeing what next year brings. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Brilliant matey. They normally bring newer models out around September time don't they, so good to see they maybe releasing different times of the year.
i recently got back into drone flying after many years of a break...dipped my toes in with a mini 2 combo ... then the neo..and now mini 4 pro... the flip looks interesting...like to get the goggles for the neo, but never have a spotter, always a solo flyer...happy new year Ian, all the best
Another great video. I am still flying my Mavic Mini and Air 2, which serve me well. I like the new models but currently my budget forgoes any upgrades. I do like to keep up to date though and your videos are great
The trouble is if the US do ban DJI , then that will have a huge impact/effect on DJI's income to spend on developing new tech, ie it will ripple out to all corners of the globe were people buy and use DJI products :(
I did miss that, but like him, am still a bit sceptical.... Personally I hope there is indeed a Mini 5 Pro but when you have 6 sub-250 grm models and just 2 larger models (Air3S & Mavic) then you wonder if they need another small drone......
Still flying and loving my mini 2, I generally fly it using Dronelink, so when it dies I'll have to get a mini 3 as that is the latest drone that dji have created an SDK for, not a lover of those controllers with in built screens, much prefer my RC-N1 and galaxy tab 9 fe
Cheers Ian - looks like I wont be going for the Mavic 4 when it comes out then as I cant remember the last time I use my M3Pro since I brought the A3S - Happy with my Mine 4 Pro and Avata 2 - so maybe the only thing I will get will be a flip and give my Neo to my nephew Happy New Year !
Haven't got a mini 4 pro just yet, busy time of year at work +the weather's been awful👎 Going to wait to see what the Flip is,will you cover CES show Ian?
My Mini 2, Mini 3 Pro, and the Air 3 have all been good to me in 2024. I am dreaming of a Mini 5 Pro in 2025, but as you hint, that dream may not come true. For now, I will dream the dream of a Mini 5 Pro as it will keep me looking forward instead of peering behind with regret.
The non-foldable Neo is build very solid, so it's a crash king. The rotors / arms of the Flip look quite weak. No way it will be a FPV drone. And on all pics there doesn't seem to be a manual mode button like on Neo. I guess Flip will replace Mini 3, equal camera quality (HDR but no DLOG M), now with Active Track, POI, Spotlight. Prop guards + Lidar help to fly without the more expensive camera obstacle avoiding system - so it will be positioned nicely between. Mini4K and Mini4Pro. Hopefully Flip will be not that loud, but I doubt that. Quieter than Neo of course, but I fear even louder that Mini 4K which is not good, no chance to compete with Mini3/3pro in terms of noise and wind resistance
I'm still flying my Air2s as it's an amazing drone to this day, but currently I'm having issues trying to find batteries to buy.Even DJI has them out of stock.Meanwhile, they are having plenty of Mini 2 batteries. What is even going on?Where can I find batteries for Air2s?
@@IaninLondonBut mini 2 is having full stock everywhere (including DJIs official store), yet Air2/2s don't?Thx I might try AliExpress as it's Chinese like the drones.Seems like that I can find even original batteries there.
It’s a very fast moving, but exciting time for DJI releases! My wallet can’t keep up 😅 I’m intrigued to see what the Flip can do.. and if its FPV capabilities are good too (the name suggests it should be both!). As for the Mavic 4…blimey. What a drone this will be, aside from the weight being quite heavy, which I guess is required in order to fit that huge camera in along with all the other goodies. Think I’ll be selling my Mavic 3! 😅
@ The (financial) problem with that statement though (and I agree), is that it probably bloody will do! Honestly.. DJI… love ‘em, but they keep releasing things with awesome improvements too often 😂
I have had funds put away for over a year now. I love my Air2S and will not be fooled with gimmicks. The Mavic 4pro looks like it might be the one but and it's a big BUT. What support are we going to get after we buy this 3k drone. DJI will definitely be banned with what's been set out in Congress as it stands. This then gives me the fear as whatever the US do the UK will most definitely follow 😢
Yep; I feel your pain and uncertainty! Air 2S is a brilliant drone; I really do love the Air 3S and it's more than enough for me, but if Stills are your thing, I get your problem. But, on a lighter note, there is a manufacturing and politcal agenda in the US driving the ban that is simply not present anywhere else; I do not see a DJI ban even remotely possible in the UK.... Have a great New Year fella and cheers for all your input :)
Nothing is for sure. Yes, the US gubmint does have a stick up its ass about Chinese made products that far surpass anything made in the USA at a similar price point and there's the rub. US companies can't compete in this arena at these prices. There are fantastic US made drones but you're looking at $20k-$40k in price. The gov is talking about TP-Link routers in the same way but there's no evidence of wrong-doing by the TP-Link company. Do a YT search to get all kinds of info on it. Hackers don't care about the brand of hardware, they just want what they want. As always, follow the money to find the truth.
DJI are not being banned, that is official as part of the 2025 NDAA, the ban will only affect government drones in 2025 at least, the document specifically says that consumer drones are not going to be affected HOWEVER, trump is threatening huge tariffs on Chinese imports across the board, So DJI will be hit with those in the US if Trump does place tariffs on.
Yes; Jasper's single grainy pic. Whilst I want a Mini 5 pro, DJI have 6 sub 250s and just 2 larger models plus Avata, so I'm wondering where they will focus next....
@@IaninLondon You’re right, we can’t guess from one grainy pic, my guess is that DJI is trying new things with sub 250g drones (whilst catching up with hover air) aka neo, flip etc (the flip looks really interesting). And I think there will be mini 5 pro, but not any time soon. I get why mini series is easily most popular, since it is advertised like an “easy to use, no registration, etc etc” and mainly the cost - the air 3s starts at 1099 eur barebones… Not even mentioning mavic. Also - I think they will improve the autonomy (control without rc or something like that on the neo) on the bigger drones. We will see, but with the USA stuff going on, it really mixes things up.
Yep; spot on Jakub. DJI are clearly focussing on the mass market least restriction models, and I'm thinking the Mavic is their top notch line and the Air3S is the (slightly more than) halfway house between Mini and Mavic....
Don't like the look of that "flip", looks like it has bicycle wheel spokes as prop gourds, i would like to think there is going to be a Mini 5 later in the year, i still have the standard Mini 3 which does almost everything i need in a drone, though better low light camera would be a welcome treat.
Hope the flip wont be as loud and annoying as the neo
More or less the same ;-)
@MauroTandoi nah, neo's pitch is just unbearable. Especially since it'll be close to you most of the time
