52:20 - I haven't paid incredible detail to this movie, but I'm pretty sure the reason that the symbiotes eat stuff in the lab is because they are intelligent beings who know they are being used. They could bond with anyone/thing, but they refuse because they are being forced to. Riot has no problem jumping hosts and Venom will voluntarily join Eddie (and others) because they choose to do so.

The first 50 minutes of this movie are atrocious. It is so perplexing when anyone calls this movie good.
